  1. Aus 8-0published at 4 overs

A fortunate escape for Jake Weatherald.

The Aussie left-hander swipes at a hook and top-edges the ball over the top of wicketkeeper Jamie Smith's head.

Smith sets off in pursuit but he cannot get there and the ball has enough on it to roll over the boundary for four.

  6. Aus 0-0published at 3 overs

Travis Head is one of the more flamboyant and attacking Australian batters, but he's been fairly reserved so far against Jofra Archer who finds a bit more rhythm in his second over.

Another maiden for the England quick.

Gus Atkinson will have his moment on these Aussie wickets.

  9. Aus 0-0published at 2 overs

Gus Atkinson a bit more on the money than Jofra Archer.

There's a half-hearted appeal after he strikes Jake Weatherald on the pad with his first delivery before a couple beat the bat.

Weatherald, another customer at Ned Flanders' Leftorium, feels bat on ball with a nudge into the leg side but there's not run.

A maiden to start from Atkinson.

Jofra Archer played the shot of the day - thus far - with the bat a little earlier...

  12. Aus 0-0published at 1 over

Penultimate delivery of the over and Jofra Archer, from the round wicket, brings the bat into play and forces Travis Head to defend.

A maiden start from Archer, albeit not a particularly threatening one.

Nice line to a right-hander from Jofra Archer.

However, his first two deliveries sail down the leg side to the left-handed Travis Head.

I think Nathan Lyon was very reserved. If I came out and said I'm absolutely filthy, it's not that strong. I think he was a lot more than filthy but was reserved with his comments. I don't mind players reacting like that, you're allowed to be disappointed. It would be worse if he cane out and said that that he didn't want to play anyway.

Nathan Lyon has described his mood as 'absolutely filthy'. He does say that he's not the first player to miss a Test match and he won't be the last but he knows what role he can play.
