Hants 191 first innings now not looking so bad.
Baltos, St Leonards-on-Sea
Somerset 208 v Warks 122-2
Fresh from his overnight call-up into the team as injury sub for Migael Pretorius, Alfie Ogborne is running in for his first over.
His smile is almost as beaming as the floodlights which are really taking effect here. It feels more like 11.48pm than 11.48am.
The left-armer thuds his fifth ball into the front pad of Sam Hain, but the umpire politely declines the appeal.
Madsen c Balderson b Stanley 41 (Derbyshire 231-6 v Lancashire 161)
Wayne Madsen had seen off the opening half-hour, but he is undone by the extra pace and bounce of Mitch Stanley.
Madsen tries to pull but is squared up and the ball loops invitingly for a simple catch at cover.
Lancashire badly, badly needed that wicket.
Essex 184 v Notts 129-3
How long before we see Simon Harmer turn his arm over at Chelmsford?
Well whoever had 47 minutes on their bingo card wins.
Essex will need their star spinner to work some magic as Notts continue to eke out the runs and edge closer to their first innings total.
Simpson c Lehmann b Abbott 2 (Sussex 142-6 v Hants 191)
And the ball change proves to be crucial - Hampshire get their third of the morning already!
Kyle Abbott has four-fer!
John Simpson flashes at one outside off-stump and can only find Jake Lehmann at third slip who makes a sharp catch about chest height.
Good take and Abbott gets his third of the morning - great seam bowling under gloomy conditions by Hampshire.
Durham v Northants 415-8
Ben Stokes is hit for two boundaries in an over by Liam Guthrie.
The Northants man is not about to die wondering.
Sussex 142-5 v Hants 191
There is a brief break in play and we will have a ball change at Sussex.
A destructive boundary by Tom Price looks like it may have damaged the previous one.
Somerset 208 v Warks 121-2
It's got dark enough for the umpires to take the light and the floodlights to have sparked into life over the County Ground.
Craig Overton bends his back and keeps Dan Mousley honest with a maiden. The Bears batter is two away from his fifty.
The third-wicket partnership is up to 107 and climbing.
Josh Shaw is into the attack to replace Jake Ball.
Glamorgan 288-7 v Surrey
Nick Webb
BBC Radio Wales
Gus Atkinson is looking sharp again in Cardiff after being left out of the England Test team, taking the key wicket of Chris Cooke for 101 with the fourth ball of the day.
That brought back Colin Ingram, who had been forced off by Atkinson with an injured finger on the first afternoon and promptly took 12 off his over including a top-edged six.
Mason Crane also started positively as Glamorgan bid for a second batting point which looked impossible at 79-6.
Essex 184 v Notts 126-3
Jack Haynes unfurls a glorious extra-cover drive off Shane Snater to break the shackles with a boundary.
Snater is back on the mark next ball which is played defensively.
Broad b Potts 1 (Durham v Northants 406-8)
Justin Broad tries to leave one alone from Matthew Potts but it takes the bottom of the bat before piling into his middle stump.
Durham are one wicket away from maximum bowling points.
In comes Liam Guthrie.
Dudgeon c du Plooy b Morgan 30 (Kent 386-9 v Middlesex)
A maiden first-class five-wicket haul for 18-year-old Seb Morgan.
But his milestone wicket comes from a rank long-hop that sits up for Keith Dudgeon who manages it to toe end it and it loops easily into the hands of Leus du Plooy at mid-off.
A nice moment for this talented young player, who has 5-99.
Derbyshire 226-5 v Lancashire 161
Lancashire fans wanting updates of early Derbyshire wickets this morning will be disappointed. There have not been any.
Instead, captain Wayne Madsen has advanced to 36 with Brooke Guest playing a supporting role on 20.
They are threatening to take this game well away from the Red Rose county.
Essex 184 v Notts 122-3
Essex are trying to put the breaks on Notts.
Wicketkeeper Michael Pepper is standing up behind the stumps to the seam of both Shane Snater and Jamie Porter while there is only one slip posted.
How long before we see Simon Harmer?
Williams lbw b Swanepoel 4 (Worcs v Glos 269-9)
Will Williams can be one of the most obdurate tailenders on the circuit but he has to go as he is trapped in front by Beyers Swanepoel, who claims his fourth of the innings.
But judging by Williams' reaction, he looks like he feels he got some bat on that.
Only one man left to help Miles Hammond now.
Sussex 138-5 v Hants 191
A beautiful cover drive by new man in Tom Price (6*) races towards the boundary.
Shot of the morning so far at Hove as Sussex's deficit nears 50.
Glamorgan 282-7 v Surrey
Gus Atkinson continues to race in with the new ball and gets a huge top edge from Colin Ingram who is aiming over mid-wicket.
Instead, the ball flies over the slip cordon, and the ball goes all the way for six - extraordinary.
The good and the bad a new ball can provide shown once more there.
Somerset 208 v Warks 114-2
Image source, Getty ImagesA clip through square leg brings four for Sam Hain off Jake Ball before he guides another down to third man for his second boundary of the over.
It also brings Hain a sixth Championship fifty of the season.
The Bears batter is in really good nick and helping his team stay in the hunt for red-ball honours.
It's the 47th first-class fifty of Hain's career and has come off 113 balls.
Milnes c Cracknell b Helm 18 (Kent 372-8 v Middlesex)
Regulation stuff as Tom Helm grabs the first of the day and his fourth of the innings.
Matt Milnes is tempted to play on the front foot outside off and he nicks behind.
Durham v Northants 402-7
Another batting point for Northants who will still feel they can get a huge score despite that loss of Ricardo Vasconcelos.
