    Durham v Northants 163-0

We are back out at Chester-le-Street after some rain and an early tea.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:30 BST 19 June

    Hill c Cox b Patel 42 (Leics v Yorks 183-8)

Spin at both ends for the first time today at Grace Road as Rehan Ahmed gets his first over of the match.

Hassan Ali connects with a sweep to Ahmed's fifth ball and it beats Lewis Hill at backward square leg and runs for four.

Ajaz Patel cointinues at the other end and is launched for a boundary by George Hill.

But next ball he's gone! Hill tries to cut but is beaten by a flatter, quicker ball and edges through to wicketkeeper Ben Cox.

    Dan Moriarty is in.

    Essex 184-9 v Notts

Shane Snater smacks his third six of the innings and the third off Liam Patterson-White.

Nice and straight, it rattles into the seats of the Sir Alastair Cook stand.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:29 BST 19 June

    Compton c Cracknell b Helm 53 (Kent 158-2 v Middlesex)

Ben Compton's watchful innings is brought to an end by a fine delivery from Tom Helm.

Coming round the wicket to the leftie, Helm induces an edge and that is a much-needed wicket on a hot day at Canterbury.

Both openers get into the fifties, but can't go bigger.

    Bennett c James b Patterson-White 21 (Essex 177-9 v Notts)

    Five wickets for Liam Patterson-White.

He gets one to just move slightly away from Charlie Bennett and Lyndon James takes his second catch of the day off the spinner in the slips.

Jamie Porter is the last man in for Essex.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:16 BST 19 June

    Bracey c Roderick b Swanepoel 1 (Worcs v Glos 145-4)

Beyers Swanepoel is doing a great job for his team here, taking two quick wickets with the old ball in the afternoon sun.

That delivery is kryptonite to a left-hander as angling across, James Bracey can only be tempted into playing and he nicks behind.

From 129-2, Worcestershire will feel right back in the game.

  7. Postpublished at 15:16 BST 19 June

    Somerset 171-8 v Warks

Lewis Goldsworthy steps down the wicket and plants Manav Suthar over midwicket for four more, to go to 70.

The spinner almost exacts swift revenge as he slides a beauty past the outside edge.

    Glam 142-6 v Surrey

There’s an awful lot to do after being plunged to 79-6 but Chris Cooke and Mason Crane are fighting back for Glamorgan.

The pair have a half-century stand in only 62 balls.

Cooke takes his seventh boundary by pulling a rank long hop from Indian legger Rahul Chahar for four.

Another pathetic batting display by Hampshire

    Ian, UK

Only three batting points for Hampshire all season - not difficult to see why they are in the bottom two in Division One.

  10. Postpublished at 15:12 BST 19 June

    Leics v Yorks 164-7

George Hill into the 30s as he punches a straight ball from Josh Davey through midwicket for his sixth boundary.

It's the second four of the over after Hassan Ali also finds the rope. He has raced to 14 off 12.

Yorkshire have picked up the pace as they look to counter-attack.

Davey then takes a tumble in his follow through as he rolls his left ankle. The Foxes paceman is back on his feet but with a grimace.

  11. Postpublished at 15:07 BST 19 June

    Somerset 164-8 v Warks

Lewis Goldsworthy gets down on one knee and drives Jordan Thompson for four.

It wasn't quite middled, but the next one is.

Goldsworthy finds his timing and sends the Bears bowler through cover point to collect back-to-back boundaries and move to 65.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:06 BST 19 June

    Organ c Carson b Goodman 13 (Sussex v Hants 142-7)

A little Hampshire recovery was building in a stand of 29 between Tom Prest, who has 39, and Felix Organ.

    But Organ is now gone.

And my what a poor dismissal.

Short and wide from Dom Goodman and Organ has guided it straight to backward point!

  13. Tea at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 15:05 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 163-0

It is still raining in the north east so an early tea is being taken.

  14. 50 runs

50 for Ben Comptonpublished at 15:04 BST 19 June

    Kent 141-1 v Middlesex

Ben Compton does it in his own, old-school way but he gets valuable runs for Kent.

He dabs a Zafar Gohar ball wide of slip and down to third for four welcome runs. That has taken him 128 balls with eight fours, but he is doing a fine job.

Compton is returning to the team for the first time since April and he is showing his side what they were missing with his finger injury.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:04 BST 19 June

    Bancroft c Roderick b Swanepoel 52 (Worcs v Glos 129-3)

That is a fine ball and a fine catch and Cameron Bancroft has to go.

Beyers Swanepoel gets a hint of away swing and Bancroft edges behind where wicketkeeper Gareth Roderick takes a good diving catch to his right.

That breaks up a fine stand of 94 between the captain and Miles Hammond.

  16. Postpublished at 15:03 BST 19 June

    Essex 170-8 v Notts

Shane Snater may be trying to keep Charlie Bennett away from the spin of Liam Patterson-White but the youngster seems to like the quick stuff from Olly Stone as he pumps him for three successive boundaries.

Bennett then takes one more to move to 19 not out.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:00 BST 19 June

    Came c Moores b Stanley (Derbyshire 7-1 v Lancashire 161)

A wicket in the second over of Derbyshire's innings and the fourth ball of Mitch Stanley's first and the bowler's extra speed allows him to take the edge of Harry Came's bat.

Lancashire need some early wickets, and that's the first of them.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:59 BST 19 June

    Shaw c Hain b Suthar 28 (Somerset 152-8 v Warks)

Manav Suthar into the wickets, but perhaps another wicket given away.

Josh Shaw had been moving along nicely and steps down the pitch to try and smash the spinner back over his head.

But he doesn't get all of it and it loops high in the air.

Sam Hain does brilliantly to spin round and take a tumbling catch over his shoulder just inside the boundary rope.

A 55-run stand is ended and Migael Pretorius joins Lewis Goldsworthy.

  19. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:58 BST 19 June

    Essex 156-8 v Notts

A second maximum for Shane Snater off Liam Patterson-White but this one has gone further and disappears out of the ground at long on.

Out comes the bag of replacement balls.

  20. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 14:56 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 163-0

We have been off for 10 minutes at Chester-le-Street and the rain has got a little heavier.

Most of the country is sweltering today but a pocket of pesky cloud is slowing the Northants progress.

This is the top two meeting in the Second Division so there is a fair bit riding on the game.
