It is a Liam Patterson-White world and we are all living in it at the moment.

Around the wicket he comes, it straightens again and Luc Benkenstein gets an edge behind - 4-19 for the Notts twirler now.

In comes Charlie Bennett, who may be bowling soon...

  2. 150 runs

150 up for Northantspublished at 14:26 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 151-0

Ricardo Vasconcelos steps down the pitch and whacks Callum Parkinson to the boundary.

This is looking very, very easy for the batsmen.

A reminder, Durham won the toss and chose to bowl first.

The lights are now on at Chester-le-Street as the skies darken.

  3. 50 runs

50 for James Whartonpublished at 14:26 BST 19 June

    Leics v Yorks 127-5

James Wharton has played a real lone hand here amid the carnage at the other end this morning.

He flicks Alex Green through midwicket for his eighth boundary to bring up his fifty.

After single-figure scores at Scarborough last week, it's a welcome return to some form as he brings up his half-century. A patient knock off 106 balls.

It's the 15th first-class fifty of his career and a much-needed one in the context of this match.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:25 BST 19 June

    Coughlin c Jewell b Abbas 6 (Derbyshire v Lancashire 145-9)

In need of runs, Paul Coughlin attempts an ugly heave through cow corner but only manages to send up a steepler and it's taken on the cover boundary by Caleb Jewell and it's a third wicket for Mohammad Abbas.

Jimmy Anderson comes out to bat and is warmly welcomed by the Chesterfield crowd. The Lancashire skipper can't be happy with his side's total.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:23 BST 19 June

    Harmer b Patterson-White 1 (Essex 130-7 v Notts)

Simon Harmer's look at the pitch is a brief one.

Three wickets now for the left-arm spin of Liam Patterson-White as, coming around the wicket he gets one to straighten and castles the South African.

It is a brilliant delivery and Shane Snater is the next lucky man to have a go with the bat.

  6. Plain sailing for Northants in CLSpublished at 14:23 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 140-0

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

I wonder if Durham are now regretting putting Northants in this morning.

The track is slow and offering very little to the bowlers. Meanwhile the visitors have cruised to a new record opening stand - for them - against their hosts.

They are currently 140-0. The previous best was 107 by Richard Montgomerie and Alan Fordham in 1995.

Ricardo Vasconcelos has 72 of the runs and Luke Procter, 50. Vasconcelos was dropped on 13 this morning, by Ben McKinney, off Ben Stokes' fourth ball of the day. That seems a long time ago now.

  7. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:22 BST 19 June

    Somerset 126-7 v Warks

Josh Shaw whips Manav Suthar through midwicket for a lovely boundary to go to 12.

But Shaw almost follows his Somerset colleagues back to the hutch as he pushes at one outside off stump and edges to Alex Davies.

But the Bears wicketkeeper can't hang on to a sharp chance.

  8. Postpublished at 14:21 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 140-0

He has 0-16 from his first spell and Ben Stokes is back on for a second dig

Can the England Test captain open up this Northants batting line up?

  9. 100 runs

100 up for Gloucestershirepublished at 14:21 BST 19 June

    Worcs v Glos 103-2

Ben Allison bangs in a bouncer and as befitting a cricketer from Western Australia, Cameron Bancroft shows he is pretty nifty on the hook.

A very commanding stroke brings him four and that nudges the scorecard into three figures.

This partnership between him and Miles Hammond climbs to 68.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Luke Procterpublished at 14:18 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 139-0

He has been a little slower than his batting partner but Northants skipper Luke Procter gets to his half-century.

He has hit six fours in this effort.

This stand is also a record opening partnership for Northants against Durham.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:15 BST 19 June

    Pepper c James b Patterson-White 24 (Essex 128-6 v Notts)

    And another one.

Liam Patterson-White twirls away around the wicket and finds the edge of Michael Pepper's bat leaving Lyndon James to snaffle the catch at second slip.

Pepper's entertaining innings containing four boundaries is over.

A certain Simon Harmer may be taking some interest as that is a second wicket for the Notts spinner.

Harmer can get a closer look now as he is the next man in.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:15 BST 19 June

van der Gugten lbw b Clark 0 (Glam 79-6 v Surrey)

Glamorgan now in serious danger of being blown away.

Jordan Clark with his second wicket - but has he got lucky here?

He was as wide on the bowling crease as he can possibly get, angling one in sharply to Timm van der Gugten.

The right-hander is beaten and struck on the pad in line with middle and off.

But surely there’s a good chance that would slide past leg stump? Definitely one for DRS.

  13. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:15 BST 19 June

    Worcs v Glos 99-2

That is a real frustration for the Pears.

They put in a leg slip to Cameron Bancroft and Ben Allison puts it in exactly the right place to inconvenience the Glos skipper and he steers it to Jake Libby, who has two goes but can't hang on at leg slip.

'Well bowled Ben' is the cry from the field. Not sure what consolation that will be for Allison.

  14. Postpublished at 14:11 BST 19 June

    Leics v Yorks 116-5

An inside edge is a fortunate way for George Hill to collect back-to-back boundaries off Josh Davey.

It caps an expensive over which has leaked 12 runs and just breaks the shackles a touch.

A good start to the session for Yorkshire, but the home side are still holding all the cards as it stands.

  15. Postpublished at 14:11 BST 19 June

    Durham v Northants 127-0

Ricardo Vasconcelos sends a Callum Parkinson delivery away to the boundary to move to 64 not out.

He was dropped off the bowling of Ben Stokes when on 13 this morning but other than that Durham have not had a sniff.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:09 BST 19 June

    Dawkins c Holden b Morgan 50 (Kent 82-1 v Middlesex)

A first wicket of the day and it's reward for some accurate bowling from Seb Morgan.

He keeps it tidy to Ben Dawkins and on a probing line and when Dawkins tries to play to leg, he succeeds only in looping a catch to cover.

Still, a nice innings from Dawkins and a good platform for Kent as Sam Northeast comes in.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:06 BST 19 June

    Balderson c Madsen b Dal 37 (Derbyshire v Lancashire 127-8)

Two wickets in four balls for Anuj Dal and two catches in the over for Wayne Madsen.

George Balderson quickly follows Harry Singh back to the pavilion as Dal, coming round the wicket, gets the left-hander to edge straight to Madsen at first slip.

A season's best from Balderson, but his county really needed him to go on and get plenty more.

  18. 100 runs

100 up for Yorkshirepublished at 14:03 BST 19 June

    Leics v Yorks 100-5

George Hill plays a lovely drive to get off the mark off Josh Davey.

Two balls later the Leicestershire bowler goes too straight and Hill knocks it off his hip through the legside for four more.

The stroke brings up three figures for the visitors. But at some cost.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:02 BST 19 June

    Singh c Madsen b Dal 28 (Derbyshire v Lancashire 126-7)

Just as Lancashire were starting to mount something resembling resistance and they lose a seventh wicket.

Harry Singh and George Balderson had put on 52 after a flurry of fours from Balderson since lunch but Singh perishes as he goes for a drive off Anuj Dal and it flashes to first slip where Wayne Madsen takes it smartly.

  20. 100 runs

100 up for Essexpublished at 14:02 BST 19 June

    Essex 107-5 v Notts

They have struggled to get there but Essex bring up the three figures as Michael Pepper flays a Fergus O'Neill delivery to the cover fence.

Two balls later Pepper repeats the trick to just ease the tension a little.

One wicket falling before lunch and two straight after has put the defending County Champions on top at Chelmsford.

Pepper and Luc Benkenstein will need to settle in for a long stint to get the home side back on an even keel.
