    Another boundary from Haseeb Hameed takes him to 66* and brings up the Notts 100.

    George Hill bustles in to bowl to his namesake Lewis.

    The batter Hill is watchful and sways out of the way of a bouncer as bowler Hill bends his back.

    A third successive maiden for the visitors who have done well to keep things tight after Rishi Patel's wicket.

    The Foxes were flying along at five-an-over before he fell.

    A bit of width from Mitch Stanley and Matthew Montgomery crunches it through the covers for four.

    Two more as he flashes a touch at another ball outside off and that sees the Derbyshire number three take his score to 70.

    It is proving a very valuable innings for his side in the context of this game.

    Catches win matches. Ricardo Vasconcelos was dropped on 13 this morning and now has 146. He was recently dropped on 136 as well.

    Saif Zaib, dropped on 0 and six, now has 55. His 50 came in 64 balls and included seven fours.

    Their partnership is worth 87, yet neither should be out there. Durham have only got themselves to blame for sloppiness in the field after putting Northants in.

    22 overs remain in the CLS. It's gloomy though, even with the lights on, so I am not sure we will see all of those today.

    If we do, that's about an hour and 20 minutes. It's going to be a late one.

    Dan Mousley's pull just evades the fielder and runs for four.

    It brings a valuable 50-run stand for the third wicket, from 87 balls.

    Mousley (21) and Sam Hain (31) have batted very sensibly to steady the ship but will dearly love to go on and put the Bears in command.

    Two fours from Zafar Gohar's over and Chris Benjamin moves to 55.

    The Kent wicketkeeper follows up his 103 in Blackpool last week with more good runs here to help his team and at a strike rate of not much below 100.

    The new ball can’t be taken at Sophia Gardens as dark cloud rolls overhead.

    Spin could have carried on but Surrey are desperate for the new nut and are happy to be off the field the way their afternoon has gone.

    Boy, did Yorkshire need that.

    Dan Moriarty has been given some punishment but sticks to his guns and flights one up to Rishi Patel.

    The Foxes opener can't resist and comes down the track, but misses and wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow has a simple job to whip off the bails. It breaks a rapid 96-run stand.

    Lewis Hill, fresh from his ton on Monday, joins Rehan Ahmed.

    He throws his head back in frustration as he trudges off. He knows his side have Hampshire on the ropes and a big score was there for the taking.

    Charlie Bennett goes past the outside edge of Joe Clarke's bat.

    He has bowled well with no reward so far.

    Essex badly need a third wicket with 11 overs remaining in the day.

    Matt Critchley is going to have a go with his leg spinners.

    Somerset turn to the spin of Jack Leach to try and break a partnership that is becoming a frustration for the hosts.

    He picked up four wickets in that big victory at Notts, three of those coming in the first innings.

    Sam Hain continues to be watchful and plays out a maiden. He and Dan Mousley have added 43 to steady the Bears' early wobble.

    Really strong reply this from Sussex. They’re breezing along at over four-an-over.
