    Essex 149 & 20-0 v Somerset 348

Usual partnership dynamics between Tall Paul Walter the aggressor and Dean Elgar the stoic new ball blunter.

Walter 13 off 10 in the 20 run partnership as Jake Ball has gone for 18 off his three overs, Craig Overton pretty miserly at the other end.

  2. Postpublished at 15:23 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 145-0

Might this help Surrey's cause? The box of spare balls is out and they are going to change it.

Any marginal gain would suit Rory Burns and his side right now.

  3. wicket

YORKS 177 ALL OUTpublished at 15:22 BST 11 April

    White b Yusuf 0 (Yorks 177 v Hants 251)

Jack White loses his off pole in some style.

Backing away from Codi Yusuf's pace, White has no meaningful defence and the off-stump cartwheels.

Logan van Beek, in as an injury substitute for Jhye Richardson, finishes unbeaten on six and Yorks find themselves trailing by 74 runs.

From a position of some promise after lunch at 137-4, Yorks have lost 6-40 with Kyle Abbott going the bulk of the damage with 4-49 and Sonny Baker grabbing another wicket to finish with 4-45.

Hants are very much in the driving seat here.

  4. 6 runs

Six for Clarkpublished at 15:20 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 133-2 v Glamorgan 113

Joe Clark is at it for Notts as well.

He sends Mason Crane back over his head for a big six down the ground.

Clarke is 71* from 93 balls.

  5. 6 runs

Six for Weatheraldpublished at 15:20 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 143-0

Jake Weatherald is absolutely motoring along towards a ton.

He dances down the track to Dan Lawrence to meet the pitch of the ball and duly dispatches it back over his head and into the stands for six.

Weatherald is all of a sudden 89*.

  6. Postpublished at 15:19 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 122-2 v Glamorgan 113

Two fours for Joe Clarke to end the over from Asa Tribe and Notts are starting to rack up the runs.

10 off that over by Tribe.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Ben Slaterpublished at 15:16 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 112-2 v Glamorgan 113

A proper opening batter's innings by Ben Slater and he goes through to 50 from 102 balls.

  8. Postpublished at 15:16 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 134-0

Third four in a row for Jake Weatherald as he puts away a long hop from Reece Topley.

  9. Postpublished at 15:15 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 130-0

It's safe to say Surrey are struggling with the ball here.

Reece Topley is on for his first over and the first ball is smashed straight back down the ground for four by Jake Weatherald.

Second ball? Smashed for four through the covers.

Could be a long afternoon for the hosts.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:15 BST 11 April

    Duke c Brown b Baker 14 (Yorks 176-9 v Hants 251)

Bit of extra bounce and a hint of seam and Harry Duke edges behind.

Sonny Baker has a fourth wicket (4-45) and Yorks are in need of a tail wag to get them at least level.

They still trail by 75 runs with one wicket remaining.

  11. 100 runs

100 partnership for Worcestershirepublished at 15:14 BST 11 April

    Middlesex 183 v Worcestershire 191 & 100-0

Super stuff from Dan Lategan and Jake Libby as they race to a century partnership inside 20 overs as Jake Libby picks up a couple through the covers.

The Pears now lead by 108 and still with all 10 wickets in hand.

    Essex 149 & 8-0 v Somerset 348

For the second time in two matches Somerset miss out on a batting bonus point, this time by just one run! When you are trying to win your first ever County Championship that could prove very costly for them come the end of this season.

    Gavin, North Wiltshire

Somerset ended two runs shy on 348, but we understand those frustrations Gavin!

  13. 100 runs

100 partnership for Nottspublished at 15:12 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 108-2 v Glamorgan 113

Ben Slater crashes one through the covers for four from Asa Tribe who is on for some off-spin.

And with that, it's a 100 partnership with Joe Clarke.

  14. Postpublished at 15:10 BST 11 April

    Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 0-0

Massive appeal for lbw as Alex Davies gets in a right pickle to the second delivery from Ollie Robinson, similar to Craig Overton, rejected by England in recent years and fired up after his batting efforts of just 15 minutes ago.

    Perhaps going down leg.

Robinson needs physio attention as he fields off his own bowling next ball though.

  15. Postpublished at 15:09 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 103-2 v Glamorgan 113

Ben Slater nudges into the off-side from Mason Crane and picks up a single.

103-2 certainly sounds better than 103-6 for Notts, which is the position they found themselves in during their first innings.

Much improved this time around and the lead is now 270.

  16. Warwickshire enter their second innings at Hovepublished at 15:07 BST 11 April

    Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 0-0

Rob Yates will face Fynn Hudson-Prentice again with that short boundary on one side, but for now it is just negotiating the new ball that will be on the southpaw's mind.

Alex Davies again his opening partner.

    Notts 279 & 102-2 v Glamorgan 113

Joe Clarke in action for Notts against GlamorganImage source, Shutterstock

A very useful knock for Notts from Joe Clarke.

He goes through to a half-century from 76 balls with eight fours to his name.

  18. Postpublished at 15:06 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 115-0

Jake Weatherald takes Dan Lawrence for another four, smashing through mid-wicket.

An expensive over for Lawrence with 12 from it.

  19. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:05 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 111-0

Jake Weatherald leathers one straight back at Dan Lawrence who is on for a bit of off-spin but it's got too much power and goes straight through the hands of Lawrence for two.

Insult to injury two balls later... a full toss outside off and Weatherald swats it away for four.

  20. Essex commence their second inningspublished at 15:05 BST 11 April

    Essex 149 & 2-0 v Somerset 348

This match keeps moving, Craig Overton with a fresh head of steam after his career-best but then the second week running frustration of seeing Jake Ball get out short of a third batting point.

He has the two left-handers of different heights, Dean Elgar and Paul Walter, in his sights.
