  1. 200 runs

200 for Luke Procterpublished at 14:41 BST 11 April

    Kent v Northants 549-2

A special milestone for Luke Procter as four runs take him up to 203, a first ever double hundred for the Northants skipper.

Ricardo Vasconcelos and Calvin Harrison arguably scored flashier centuries, but the captain has anchored this innings superbly, facing 312 balls for this effort.

"Well played, skip," is the response from his head coach Darren Lehmann on air.

  2. Postpublished at 14:39 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 81-0

Jake Weatherald is quick onto it once again as Matt Fisher over-pitches outside off stump.

Thrashed away for four and the Aussie is now just five shy of 50.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Camepublished at 14:38 BST 11 April

    Lancs 351 Derbys 106-2

A clip into the leg side off Tom Hartley from Harry Came brings up his half-century. It has been an innings that has not been without his luck given he was dropped on 16.

But the Derbys opener has hauled his side right back into the contest after a poor start last night.

  4. 50 runs

    50 partnershippublished at 14:38 BST 11 April

    Middlesex 183 v Worcestershire 191 & 59-0

This is a blistering start from Dan Lategan and Jake Libby, giving the Worcestershire second knock some real impetus.

Lategan is going at more than a run-a-ball for his 33 with Libby on 22.

    Their lead is already 67.

    Kent v Northants 544-2

I know it’s early in the season and points are important but can Northants go for 1000 runs in 1 innings? They’ve got the perfect chance to break the 1000 mark…

  6. 50 runs

    Sussex 180-8 v Warwickshire 267

A single for Ollie Robinson gets these two past 50 together.

    70 balls, 47 minutes.

Jack Carson looks around the ground in disbelief for such an applause for a mere single!

The second highest partnership of the innings this after the opening pair.

Beau Webster bowling now for the Bears, just five off his first over.

  7. 'We're going to play Proccy ball'published at 14:33 BST 11 April

    Kent v Northants 532-2

Northants head coach Darren Lehmann is speaking on BBC Radio Northampton and he is asked when his team will declare.

"We're going to play Proccy ball," he says. "That's what we're going to call it.

"Be really aggressive in this session, get as many as we can. that's provided we score freely and give us as many overs as we can to bowl today."

And his team is certainly in a glorious position in this game.

  8. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 14:32 BST 11 April

    Yorks 157-7 v Hants 251

The brollies are springing up, the covers are rolling on and we are off for another rain break at Headingley.

Kyle Abbott has swung this game back away from Yorks since lunch with a three-wicket burst that has reduced them from a position of relative strength at 129-4.

They are still 94 short of Hants total.

    Smeed c Pepper b Cook 39 (Essex 149 v Somerset 330-8)

Strangled down the legside, maybe a gentle tickle off the face rather than the edge, Will Smeed barely flinched, no real celebration from Sam Cook and the Essex lads.

39 off 77 balls, imagine if he was not dropped on 0 at first slip, Somerset could be all out by now.

Josh Shaw will have his first bat for Somerset.

  10. Postpublished at 14:31 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 76-0

Rishi Patel plays a cover drive for Leicestershire at SurreyImage source, Shutterstock

Right out of the middle of the bat for Rishi Patel. He swings hard outside off stump and catches it as sweet as you like from Matt Fisher.

It absolutely races away to the extra cover boundary and Patel is able to stand and admire his work. No need to run those.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:27 BST 11 April

    Overton lbw Snater 141 (Essex 149 v Somerset 330-6)

End of a sensational innings as Craig Overton misses a nip backer from Shane Snater that seems to be arrowing towards his leg stump.

Many respectful Essex members stand to clap him off the field, plus the beaming away fans of course.

He had just passed his previous best 138 in first-class cricket.

The Somerset lead is 181 as Miggy Pretorius comes in. If he and Will Smeed get going together this could be seriously dangerous for the home side against a hard ball.

These two played together last Finals Day, but otherwise have barely shared a team, with Blast matches the only format Smeed has previously played for Somerset.

    Notts 279 & 68-2 v Glamorgan 113

Runs are flowing now for Notts.

Two boundaries off the Zain ul Hassan over for Ben Slater, the second racing to the rope after a back foot drive.

The lead is now 234 for the hosts and every run is just taking this game further and further away from Glamorgan.

  13. Postpublished at 14:24 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 71-0

Leicestershire ticking along very nicely indeed. Rishi Patel gets onto the front foot aggressively and a flick of the wrists through the covers helps it race away for four off Jordan Clark.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:23 BST 11 April

    Hill b Abbott 8 (Yorks 149-7 v Hants 251)

What a beauty that is... Kyle Abbott has his third since lunch as George Hill becomes the latest to lose his off stump.

The South African has 4-34 (3-10 since lunch inside four overs) and that was too good for Hill whose defensive push leaves just enough gap between bat and pad for Abbott to snake it through.

There was a decent nip off the seam and Abbott is turning this match back towards Hants.

  15. 50 runs

50 partnership for Nottspublished at 14:22 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 58-2 v Glamorgan 113

Ben Slater and Joe Clarke are doing a fine job to rebuild this Notts innings.

Clarke pushes into the off-side for a single off Andy Gorvin and that's the 50 partnership.

  16. Postpublished at 14:21 BST 11 April

    Sussex 168-8 v Warwickshire 267

Top recovery this from the Sussex numbers nine and ten, nearing a 50 partnership now.

Jack Carson notched his first Championship century last year and now is 27* off 38 balls alongside his skipper Ollie Robinson who has 20* off 31 balls, not scoring slowly either.

Jordan Thompson has 1-10 off his 4.3 overs in the colours of his new county.

  17. Postpublished at 14:21 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 67-0

Jake Weatherald breaks the Surrey flow and cracks a lovely square cut off Tom Lawes and it races away for four.

    A welcome boundary.

  18. Postpublished at 14:20 BST 11 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 63-0

Some tight bowling from Surrey in the past few overs but Leicestershire will be happy to just bat and bat at the moment.

Not losing wickets most definitely the priority today to stay in this game.

  19. Postpublished at 14:18 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 & 54-2 v Glamorgan 113

Very clever shot from Ben Slater as he drops his bat on it with soft hands outside off from Zain ul Hassan and guides it down to third man for four.

Notts ticking along nicely and 220 runs ahead now.

Glamorgan need to break this partnership which is now worth 46.

A good recovery from 8-2 by Notts.

Opening bat Ben Slater has dug in with 14 from 54 balls while Joe Clarke is onto 27 from 35.
