    Notts 279 v Glamorgan 87-7

Could not be going worse for Glamorgan this morning to be honest.

Three wickets lost in half-an-hour and just six runs added to the overnight score.

In fact, they've lost their past three wickets for no runs.

    Surrey 450-7 v Leics

And there is the fifth batting point for Surrey as they pass 450.

    Gorvin c Verreynne b Pennington 0 (Notts 279 v Glamorgan 87-7)

    Dropping like flies.

It's short and down the leg-side from Dillon Pennington and Andy Gorvin attempts a big hook shot to try and get off the mark.

But the nightwatchman gets it all wrong and it flicks off his glove and through to Kyle Verreynne, who takes his third catch of the morning.

Gorvin goes for a duck from 25 balls.

  4. Postpublished at 11:26 BST 11 April

    Surrey 447-7 v Leics

It's short from Josh Hull and Tom Lawes is onto it in a flash.

He effortlessly swipes it away for four on the pull through mid-wicket.

Very valuable quick runs for Surrey this morning and that fifth batting point is almost secured.

    Cracknell c Roderick b Hannon-Dalby (Middx 109-7 v Worcs 191)

The batsman is not happy with that decision but then again when are they ever?

It was a lovely delivery from Olly Hannon-Dalby, drawing Joe Cracknell into playing and leaving him slightly off the pitch en route to Gareth Roderick's gloves.

There looked to be a nick and the slip cordon went up in genuine reaction to a noise but the Middlesex man thinks his bat has missed it and clipped his pad.

Whatever. Middx are seven down and Worcs are up and running.

    Notts 279 v Glamorgan 87-6

Notts of course picking up their second bowling point with that wicket of Sean Dickson.

Jack Haynes' vital ton yesterday for the hosts is looking better with every passing delivery.

  7. Postpublished at 11:23 BST 11 April

    Essex 149 v Somerset 192-5

Still no official line on Lewis Goldsworthy's injury, nor is it obvious visibly what his problem is.

I guess Archie Vaughan is as like for like as a right-handed batter who bowls spin for Goldsworthy as it comes, and he will have to swallow his pride were he to be asked to be the second injury replacement of the match despite being at Chelmsford all match.

A runner, 13 names on the Somerset playing XI sheet and potentially 12 batters in an innings is now allowed, gosh this could be carnage, and especially for the scorer!

    Kent v Northants 425-1

We should probably have a false shot klaxon for this, given how few were played yesterday.

Jas Singh gets Calvin Harrison trying to play through the legside, but it squares him up and he gets four down behind square on the offside.

The boundary takes this stand between him and captain Luke Procter to 201.

This is now a career-best for the former Notts man, who has 129 while Procter is on 132.

    Surrey 440-7 v Leics

Tom Lawes looks in the mood as he crashes another lovely cover drive for four off Ian Holland.

    Dickson c Verreynne b O'Neill 0 (Notts 279 v Glamorgan 87-6)

Nottinghamshire are rattling through Glamorgan this morning and this could get very miserable, very quickly for the visitors.

Sean Dickson was drafted into the side in place of the injured Ben Kellaway yesterday but he hasn't been able to contribute with the bat.

He wafts at one outside off from Fergus O'Neill and it takes a thin edge on the way through to Kyle Verreynne.

Just like Colin Ingram a few moments ago, Dickson refuses to walk and waits to be given. Desperate times for Glamorgan.

    Notts 279 v Glamorgan 87-5

Nightwatchman Andy Gorvin is still doing his nightwatchman duties diligently.

He's 0* from 21 balls after fending off a maiden over from Dillon Pennington.

  12. Postpublished at 11:17 BST 11 April

    Surrey 431-7 v Leics

Josh Hull gets Jordan Clark to edge one but it doesn't quite carry to the slip cordon and instead runs away for four down to third man.

And Clark then prods away for a single on the off-side.

Surrey are closing in on 450.

  13. Postpublished at 11:17 BST 11 April

    Sussex 28-0 v Warwickshire 267

Sussex hit back after tea yesterday to take the last four Warwickshire wickets for 35 runs.

Now having a positive opening partnership against this quality away attack is showing further great signs for the club struggling financially.

Remember Sussex went into this match on the back of an emphatic 222-run victory at Grace Road in the opening round, so they really are giving the members something to smile about after a very depressing winter.

Josh Shaw bowling for Somerset at EssexImage source, Shutterstock

Josh Shaw: 30 year old journeyman or better than Davey, Green and Aldridge? As a somerset fan I genuinely thought he was only signed for the 50 over comp to add some experience. Pretty good day yesterday though.

    Dave, Wiltshire

Josh Shaw took 3-30 for Somerset as they bowled out Essex for 149 on day one.

    Lancs 351 v Derbys 9-1

Mitchell Stanley and Jimmy Anderson is not a bad combination to start the morning with particularly with a new ball only two overs old.

Nobody needs reminding what the Lancs captain is capable of and he has just whistled a beauty past the edge of Matt Montgomery's bat and a huge shout for lbw which is turned down (impact perhaps just outside off).

But 25-year-old Stanley is generating some serious heat from the other end nudging 90mph and keeping the Derbys pair on their toes.

Good start to proceedings at a chilly but bright Old Trafford.

  16. Postpublished at 11:13 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 v Glamorgan 87-5

Colin Ingram was they key batter Notts would have been targeting this morning and they've now removed the top five.

Sean Dickson is in for Glamorgan after replacing Ben Kellaway in the line-up.

Kellaway was injured while fielding yesterday and will play no further part.

    Ingram c Verreynne b Pennington 23 (Notts 279 v Glamorgan 87-5)

Not an ideal start to day two for Glamorgan at all.

Dillon Pennington finds the edge of Colin Ingram's bat and he's caught behind by Kyle Verreynne.

Ingram looks sheepishly down at his feet and starts marking out his guard more in hope than expectation as the field goes up.

But it doesn't save him and up goes the finger.

  18. Postpublished at 11:09 BST 11 April

    Surrey 421-7 v Leics

Tom Lawes gets into the groove from the off for Surrey, crashing a half-volley outside off from Josh Hull through the covers for four.

The hosts will be targeting 450 and a fifth batting point this morning.

    Notts 279 v Glamorgan 87-4

Six runs from the first over at Trent Bridge with Colin Ingram moving onto 23.

Tailender Andy Gorvin is at the crease for Glamorgan following nightwatchman duty yesterday evening after skipper Kiran Carlson fell late on.
