    Middlesex 130-7 v Worcestershire 191

Good, hard stuff at Lord's where no quarter is being given.

Only the loss of Joe Cracknell in the first 70-odd minutes for Middlesex, but Worcestershire have restricted them to only 39 runs.

And the deficit is still 64.

Ben Raine was pushed up the order for quick runs for Durham but he has come and gone for five and they are now 556-5 against Gloucestershire.

    Simpson c Smith b Barnard 5 (Sussex 83-5 v Warwickshire 267)

The normally very reliable John Simpson did not look ready to bat and he causes more padding up to be needed in the Sussex dressing room.

Another poor shot from the home side, whatever happened to the leave when the bowler dares to bowl in the decent corridor outside off stump?

Bonus wicket for Ed Barnard to a standard ball outside off, an easy catch behind. He now has 2-5.

  3. 6 runs

Six for Hadleypublished at 12:08 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 v Glamorgan 109-9

    Where has that come from?

Glamorgan number 11 Ryan Hadley decides to go for it and smashes Dillion Pennington for six over mid-wicket.

A bit of light in the dark (and it is rather gloomy at Trent Bridge) for the visitors.

I feel for Ian Holland and Ben Green. Was at The Oval yesterday and amid the wonderful batting they were consistently storming in and giving it their all.

  5. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Old Traffordpublished at 12:06 BST 11 April

    Lancs 351 v Derbys 37-1

Light rain moves through to heavy rain and now hailstones as the groundstaff scramble to get the hovercover on.

Given the rapid move through the gears you would hope the sunshine can return soon enough.

Big opportunity for Lancs just before this break when Marcus Harris spills Harry Came on 16 off the bowling of Paul Coughlin.

Otherwise, that has been Derbys' first hour.

  6. Postpublished at 12:06 BST 11 April

    Essex 149 v Somerset 212-6

Well Exeter-born Tom Lammonby can have a rest from running and get his bowling boots ready and commence football banter with the man he was running for.

Lewis Goldsworthy will be able to put his hamstrung leg up, potentially with ice and watch the Devon derby whilst his T20 teammate Will Smeed will look to continue where he left off.

Spoiler; most Cornishmen (particularly Eastern ones) are still Argyle fans rather than Truro City...

  7. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:05 BST 11 April

    Lancs 351 v Derbys 36-1

Harry Came, on 16 at the time, has clipped Paul Coughlin loopily off his legs but Marcus Harris has put it down at midwicket. An opportunity to split a partnership that has frustrated Lancs this morning.

    Goldsworthy c Pepper b Porter 41 (Essex 149 v Somerset 212-6)

Jamie Porter celebrates taking the wicket of Lewis GoldsworthyImage source, Shutterstock

A feather of an edge through to the keeper and Jamie Porter strikes.

Lewis Goldsworthy had done brilliantly to manage so many runs with that twinged hamstring, lasting an hour this morning was a great effort alongside his skipper.

The partnership worth 98 very valuable runs.

Fresh off 350+ runs in two innings at Abergavenny for the second team, though a little bit less fresh from the monster car journey yesterday, Will Smeed makes his first-class debut.

  9. wicket

    Crane lbw b Hutton 2 (Notts 279 v Glamorgan 102-9)

    Follow on incoming for Glamorgan?

Brett Hutton traps Mason Crane in front and that's as plumb as they come.

Monumental collapse from the visitors. 81-4 at the start of the day. 102-9 an hour later.

  10. McKinney departs for 244published at 12:02 BST 11 April

    Glos v Durham 544-4

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Ben McKinney's stay in the middle came to an end as he tried to push the Durham innings along.

Having hit six sixes during his innings, he was caught at long-on by the diving Will Williams, as he tried to pull Craig Miles for a seventh.

His partnership with David Bedingham was worth 209 runs for the third wicket. That's the highest stand for any Durham pair against Gloucestershire.

McKinney's total of 244 is the seventh best by a Durham player.

Bedingham was then out for 118. Having hit Miles for two consecutive sixes, he was caught on the boundary by Matt Taylor as he tried to hit a third.

It's the 26th time he's got there in first-class cricket and the 17th time he's done it for Durham.

It's now a case of when the visitors decide to pull out on a flat track which has offered little to the bowlers.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:00 BST 11 April

    Hughes lbw b Booth 30 (Sussex 78-4 v Warwickshire 267)

It is all happening at Hove now.

Dan Hughes' head falls over to the offside as he tries to whip Michael Booth's ball off the stumps through the legside.

Poor technique from a ball that did not do that much, he just played across a straight one, the head being the heaviest part of the body, plus with a helmet on top leading him astray.

John Simpson may not have been ready five minutes ago, often Sussex's saviour, the former Middlesex man eventually makes it out just in time, adjusting his thigh pad as he walks out.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:59 BST 11 April

    Lawes c Holland b Green 36 (Surrey 509-8 v Leics)

Relief more than anything for Leicestershire.

Tom Lawes tries to go big off Ben Green but doesn't get enough on it and succeeds only in looping it up to wide mid-off.

Ian Holland does well to scamper round and make the catch as he falls to the deck.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:59 BST 11 April

    Bedingham c Taylor b Miles 118 (Glos v Durham 539-4)

David Bedingham is in no mood to hang around as he launches successive sixes off Craig Miles.

He tries to make it three in a row, but he just fails to clear the man on the boundary at long-on.

A sign of Durham's intent that they probably won't be batting too much longer.

Bedingham goes for an effortless 118 off 135 balls with 13 fours and three sixes.

  14. 100 runs

100 up for Glamorganpublished at 11:58 BST 11 April

    Notts 279 v Glamorgan 100-8

Glamorgan have just about crept their way to 100.

And even that comes about in slightly fortuitous fashion as Timm van der Gugten edges away through third man for four off Fergus O'Neill.

  15. Postpublished at 11:58 BST 11 April

    Lancs 351 v Derbys 32-1

Paul Coughlin and Tom Bailey are into the attack after the opening partnership has drawn a blank.

Harry Came and Matt Montgomery have played and missed at a few but they have built the score from worse than scratch to the 30s.

  16. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:58 BST 11 April

    Sussex 78-3 v Warwickshire 267

Sussex made multiple new signings for this campaign before all the news about the financial issues came to the light.

One of them, Jack Leaning of first Yorkshire, then Kent, is in at five and is dropped at first slip low to his left first ball off Ed Barnard.

  17. 6 runs

Six for Clarkpublished at 11:57 BST 11 April

    Surrey 508-7 v Leics

    HUGE!

Jordan Clark with a mammoth sweep off Josh Hull and that's flown out of the ground for six.

Always feels like it should be worth a couple more when that happens.

    This is demoralising for Leicestershire.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:56 BST 11 April

    Coles c Yates b Barnard 11 (Sussex 78-3 v Warwickshire 276)

A really loose shot by James Coles off Bears captain Ed Barnard.

Probably the worst shot of the match so far, really not reading the situation, maybe that stint at Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 has given him bad habits of throwing his hands at the white ball on flat pitches.

He could have been caught on eight, this time it is an easy enough one for Rob Yates at second slip who makes no mistake.

11 off 12 balls is not the type of innings Sussex need, having started the season on negative points and with batting bonus points, let alone match points up for grabs here.

Dan Hughes is working really hard at the other end and just needs someone to stay with him.

Jordan Clark raises his bat for 50Image source, Shutterstock

Surrey have wasted absolutely no time this morning.

Jordan Clark flashes Rehan Ahmed away for four through backward point before nudging a single to take the hosts to 500 in the 109th over.
