Agree with the posters below on Jamie Overton, I just don’t think he gives you the control you need to dominate a team. Doesn’t have the international consistency require

  10. SL 144-4published at 16 overs

Good use of the feet from Pavan Rathnayake who shuffles down and punches Adil Rashid straight for a single.

Crucially, from an England, perspective no boundaries conceded.

Rashid has been excellent here. He finishes with 1-25 from his allocation.

Neither Will Jacks or Jamie Overton are good enough for an English international side. End of.

  14. SL 139-4published at 15 overs

A stroke of luck for Pavan Rathnayake as he bottom edges a sweep off Will Jacks and it goes through the legs of England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler and away for four.

    Harry Brook rolls his eyes.

Just the one boundary in that over, though.

To have a different challenge when it comes to the run chase is not the worst thing to happen for England; it seems less turn on offer tonight.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.4 overs

    Shanaka lbw b Rashid 1 (SL 131-4)

Reviewed more in hope than expectation by Dasun Shanaka.

Not sure he even picked the wrong 'un from Adil Rashid in all honesty.

    England's spinners stifling the scoring.

  19. Sri Lanka reviewpublished at 13.4 overs

A filthy swipe across the line from Dasun Shanaka to Adil Rashid's googly.

It skids on and hits the Sri Lanka batter low on the back thigh.

Given out on field but Shanaka reviews it.

Tom Banton hoping Pavan Rathnayake doesn’t go on here after dropping a catch he should have kept hold of to end a horrible over for Jamie Overton.
