    WICKETpublished at 12.3 overs

    Brook c Hasaranga b Pathirana 36 (Eng 130-4)

    But now Harry Brook departs!

Brook dropped to scoop Matheesha Pathirana's delivery directly over his head, realises the shot isn't quite on - the ball has greater bounce than he expected - and the England skipper has to play it standing upright, with the toe of his bat above his head.

It means there's more air than distance on the ball and it's taken by Wanindu Hasaranga running over behind the wicket.

Brook walks off with 36 from 12 balls, with his innings that featured four sixes and went at a rollicking strike-rate of 300 putting England firmly in the driving seat.

A partnership of 49 off 20 balls with Tom Banton also comes to an end.

Must be terrifying to bowl at Brook in the shortest format. He doesn’t exactly hold back in the longest!

    Make that consecutive sixes!

Fuller from Matheesha Pathirana and Harry Brook hits him flat and hard over the covers again.

He moves to 36 from 11 balls, with four sixes.

Harry Brook has a strike rate of 200 in the final five overs of T20Is, no England batter scores quicker in this phase of the innings.

Matheesha Pathirana starts with an off side wide and the follow-up doesn't go much better.

Harry Brook launches him for six high over the covers.

  6. Eng 117-3published at 12 overs

    51 needed from 30 balls

The rest of the over goes better for Wanindu Hasaranga as England's batters can only work him around for a trio of singles.

Now then Brook. Can you see England home when the pressure's on?

  8. 6 runs

    Six more!

Harry Brook muscles Wanindu Hasaranga over mid-wicket.

A bit of a drag-down from the spinner and England's captain tucks in.

  9. 6 runs

    Eng 107-3published at 11 overs

    61 needed off 36 balls

Back to seam with Matheesha Pathirana.

The slingy seamer was excellent on Friday, finishing with 1-18 from his four overs, and his first over after the delay starts well.

His first four balls go for a couple of singles, but his fifth is a wide.

Harry Brook cracks the retake through point for four, then lofts the next delivery over the ropes at cover.

14 runs off the over - England's required run-rate is 10.16 an over from here.

  10. Eng 93-3published at 10 overs

    75 needed off 42 balls

Harry Brook gets his first boundary, hitting Dunith Wellalage through long-on.

Twelve runs and the crucial wicket of Jos Buttler in the over.

That's the ninth time Jos Buttler has been dismissed by a left arm spinner in T20Is in the last two years - his average (24) and strike rate (141) against left arm spin are his lowest for any bowling type in this period.

  12. 6 runs

    Eng 88-3published at 9.4 overs

    Another six for Tom Banton!

After Harry Brook got off the mark with a slightly scary dink over the bowler for a single, Banton plays the shot Jos Buttler wanted to complete.

He slams the ball over the ropes at deep cover.

That's a huge, huge wicket. It's a wonderful wicket for Sri Lanka but it doesn't look good for England.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9.1 overs

    Buttler c Rathnayake b Wellalage 39 (Eng 81-3)

A key wicket for Sri Lanka!

Jos Buttler launches Dunith Wellalage into the air on the off side but doesn't get hold of his shot.

Pavan Rathnayake runs in from deep cover and takes the catch diving forwards.

Here comes England's skipper, Harry Brook.

  15. Eng 81-2published at 9 overs

    87 needed from 48 balls

A couple more singles off the remainder of the over.

England have scored 24 in the 10 balls since the resumption.

  16. 6 runs

    Eng 79-2published at 8.4 overs

    Oh, that is massive.

Tom Banton drops to a knee and crashes Wanindu Hasaranga over mid-wicket for six.

We'll have another wait - the ball cleared the back of the stand so we'll need a new one.

  17. Eng 69-2published at 8 overs

    Full tosses galore.

Whether it's a wet ball or because Janith Liyanage was unprepared it's hard to say, perhaps a bit of both.

The stand-in bowler survives the free hit with little damage after Jos Buttler struck an opening full toss to the long-off fielder for a single.

Tom Banton then found four through third off a full delivery, before Liyanage finished with two non-bouncing deliveries - hit for a single by Banton and a four square by Buttler.

  18. Eng 59-2published at 7.2 overs

    Target 168

We go again, and we stop again.

It's bad news for Eshan Malinga, who falls in the follow-through of his first ball, clutching the shoulder of his non-bowling arm.

It appears to be a dislocation, and the right-arm seamer is walking off the field.

He had released a no ball above waist height, to which Tom Banton added a further run hit square.

Janith Liyanage will bowl the rest of the over, starting with a free hit.

  19. Play to resume at 17:10 GMTpublished at 17:07 GMT 1 February

    Eng 57-2 (7.2 overs)

You were right, Tim - we will get back on!

Play is going to resume shortly, after a little over an hour off the field, with England now chasing a revised of target of 168 (it was previously 190) from 17 overs.

That means they'll need to score 111 from 58 balls - that's a fair old rate.

Don't be a negative Nancy mike!! We will get back on and England will knock off the revised target easy.
