  1. Underway in Notts' inningspublished at 12:35 BST 16 May

    Notts 0-0 v Hampshire 214

Nottinghamshire's reply has begun at Southampton.

Having wrapped up the end of Hampshire's innings this morning, Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater are now out in the middle.

Kyle Abbott has the new ball and beats Hameed's outside edge. Still looks rather bowler-friendly at the Utilita Bowl.

  2. Postpublished at 12:35 BST 16 May

    Gloucs 154 v Northants 65-4

Matt Taylor drops short and Luke Procter keeps the strike with a controlled pull to deep square for one. He's on 27.

Gabe Bell to continue at the other end and strikes Procter low on the pad but outside the line of leg stump.

Shot! Full and driven with a flowing bat to long on for four.

    89 behind now.

  3. Kelly makes debut as Foxes subpublished at 12:35 BST 16 May

    Essex 72-4 v Leics 333

We have just learned that Jake Weatherald will play no further part in this game for Leicestershire after injuring his elbow when he was dismissed yesterday (don't ask for an exp0lanation - we're still not sure exactly what happened).

Anyway, New Zealander Nick Kelly is the nominated sub - his debut for the county.

Thankfully, for us, Kelly is a lot easier to type accurately than W-e-a-t-h-e-r-a-l-d.

  4. Postpublished at 12:32 BST 16 May

    Derbyshire 183-5 v Middlesex 177

Derbyshire now lead at Lord's, having passed Middlesex's first innings score.

Wayne Madsen and Ben Aitchison run three from the bat of the former, then Aitchison drives convincingly through the covers to the boundary rope.

  5. 50 runs

50 for Craig Overtonpublished at 12:30 BST 16 May

    Somerset 371-5 v Sussex

Sussex captain Ollie Robinson has posted three fielders on the leg side boundary - as Henry Crocombe nearly cuts Craig Overton in half with a seaming delivery.

Overton finds a gap into the on side for one to reach his second 50 of the season - off 63 balls with eight fours.

He has a best effort of 141 v Essex this season. He can play a bit. Sussex will hope to prize him out for a lot less than that.

  6. Postpublished at 12:28 BST 16 May

    Yorkshire 438-7 v Surrey

Huge shout for lbw by Dan Worrall and Jhye Richardson has come a long way down but umpire Michael Gough shakes his head.

    That one looked very close.

  7. Intervalpublished at 12:28 BST 16 May

    Warwickshire 0-0 v Glamorgan 360

It has just been announced that an early lunch has been taken at Edgbaston, at 12:45pm. No play will take place before then.

  8. Postpublished at 12:27 BST 16 May

    Kent 474-7 v Durham

That will not do anything for the collective Durham mood.

Kasey Aldridge has Ekansh Singh caught at cover but the umpire says no-ball.

  9. Postpublished at 12:27 BST 16 May

    Gloucs 154 v Northants 59-4

Luke Procter is squared up by Gabe Bell and gets a leading edge that bounces safely into the covers.

He's squared up again with an attempted glance to leg and the ball flies off the outside edge in front of square for four.

This is behind the sofa viewing for Northants fans.

The deficit dips below 100 and any sort of innings lead will be gold dust for either side.

Four more, driven with a thick inside edge through square leg.

  10. Covers coming off at Edgbastonpublished at 12:25 BST 16 May

    Warwickshire 0-0 v Glamorgan 360

We have encouraging signs at Edgbaston, where the ground-staff are working to get the covers off in order to allow Warwickshire's innings to commence.

They wrapped up Glamorgan's effort this morning, in-between the rain delays, and are almost set to begin their own time at the crease.

  11. Postpublished at 12:24 BST 16 May

    Somerset 364-5 v Sussex

A push to mid off by Craig Overton facing Tom Haines and that was a well-judged single, just beating the return throw of Tom Haines.

Width outside off and Tom Abell drives through cover for four.

Abell is on 85 and Overton has 44.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:23 BST 16 May

    Baker LBW Patterson-White 3 (Hampshire 214 v Notts)

That is that. Sonny Baker departs for three, trapped in front by Liam Patterson-White.

Hampshire's innings is brought to a close, and they will likely be pretty happy with the wagging of the tail to carry them over the 200 milestone.

Time for Notts' openers to pad up.

  13. Postpublished at 12:22 BST 16 May

    Gloucs 154 v Northants 51-4

Batting has rarely if ever looked easy here as Zaib leaves a length ball that takes off and nibbles away from just outside off stump.

Shot! Full and driven down the ground by Zaib before.

Lovely footwork, shuffling across and forward.

That's the innings 50 in the 22nd over.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:21 BST 16 May

    Hill c Thomas b Worrall 34 (Yorkshire 436-7 v Surrey)

Blow for Yorkshire - George Hill goes for a nicely played 34.

Dan Worrall gets his first wicket of the innings, forcing Hill to edge to second slip where Adam Thomas takes a nice catch low to his right.

  15. Postpublished at 12:19 BST 16 May

    Somerset 359-5 v Sussex

Henry Crocombe is a bit wide bowling to Craig Overton, who smashes the ball through cover for four.

A better delivery is pushed carefully to extra cover for no run.

Crocombe drifts to middle and leg and Overton whips the ball through mid wicket for four to move to 42.

400 within 110 overs may be on here - and that would be a fourth batting point.

One more nudged to fine leg. 101 overs bowled.

  16. Postpublished at 12:17 BST 16 May

    Essex 60-4 v Leics 333

Josh Hull, their quickest bowler, is now operating for Leicestershire.

Charlie Allison tucks a single of his hip, exposing nightwatch Jamie Porter to the tall left-armer.

  17. Postpublished at 12:15 BST 16 May

    Gloucs 154 v Northants 46-4

Luke Procter gets an edge off Matt Taylor but it doesn't carry to second slip.

This is going to be hard work for Northants despite the slender deficit.

    Maiden over for Matt Taylor.

Saif Zaib will face Gabe Bell.

  18. Postpublished at 12:13 BST 16 May

    Kent 461-7 v Durham

Ben Stokes shakes his head after being driven through mid-on for four by Ekansh Singh. The England skipper is not operating at full throttle and now has figures of 1-84 from 15 overs. Expensive.

  19. Postpublished at 12:13 BST 16 May

    Yorkshire 431-6 v Surrey

    Dom Bess is living dangerously.

He comes down the crease and pushes at one outside off stump, missing the outside edge once more.

Harry Brook was dismissed in similar fashion yesterday but Bess survives.
