If anything, Chloe Kim went too big there.

Chloe Kim popped really hard and came far off the wall. She needed legs like Thor to land that one.

    Women's halfpipe final

    Here comes Chloe Kim...

She starts with a backside 720, then holds a looong switchback air. And now the big one, she flies up into the air and double somersaults but can't quite nail her landing and her run is scuppered once she briefly sits on the floor.

The American doesn't improve on her first run, but she's still in the lead by three points over Mitsuki Ono.

Kristen Santos-Griswold definitely used some of her pent up frustration from falling three times to record the fastest time of the third quarter-final of 42.17 seconds.

Michelle Velzeboer of the Netherlands takes the second automatic qualifying spot finishing one tenth of a second behind the American.

Short track speed skating. It's barely organised chaos.

Third time lucky ... or not.

Kristen Santos-Griswold hits the deck for the third time and China's Zhang Chutong is told to leave the ice.

We go again with the four skaters.

The only thing that defeated Maddie Mastro there was her mind. She's had two falls on the same trick, imagine when she hits it next time.

Curling - GB women 2-2 China

    Richard Winton
    BBC Sport Scotland in Cortina

So, you know how the curlers have mics on to pick up what they’re saying about tactics? That’s proved a bit of a problem for Team GB’s Rebecca Morrison, who likes a wee swear…

“I have a lack of filter sometimes and I get very angry at myself,” the Aberdonian told BBC Sport, sheepishly.

“It’s taken a few warnings for it to get through to me but I’m being quite strict with myself and I'm hoping from the get-go in this competition, I'm going to be on my best behaviour.”

There is no room for conservatism on this final run. Just go out there and give it your best.

    Women's halfpipe final

And drama at the halfpipe too! Maddie Mastro attempts a double flip but doesn't quite land it. She'll have to go again in round three.

    Oh no, not again!

China's Zhang Chutong and Julie Letai of the United States have collided for a second time.

    I spoke too soon.

China's Zhang Chutong slipped and took out two skaters so we have a restart.

Maddie Mastro is next. If she doesn't do a double, I will eat my trousers.

Beautiful, beautiful pipe riding from Rise Kudo, execution was clean but she's a little bit low.

    Women's halfpipe final

All change in the medal places as Japan's Rise Kudo scores 81.75 to move back into provisional bronze.

Almost at the end of round two now.

Canadians Courtney Sarault (41.974 seconds) and Florence Brunelle (42.285) recorded the two fastest times in the second quarter-final.

Blink and you'll miss this lot!

Beautiful execution from Cai Xuetong. Bronze medal position and has a decent margin.

    Women's halfpipe final

Brilliant run from China's Cai Xuetong with a frontside grab, 1080 and an alley-oop. More tricks than a game of bridge.

That gets her 80.75 points which is good enough for bronze, bumping down Japan's Rise Kudo who is incidentally up next.

    Short Track Speed Skating - Women's 500m

    What a blistering start to the women's 500m quarter-final.

We have a new Olympic record time in the very first go!

And it's Xandra Velzeboer - the world record holder - that has etched her name into the history books again with a time of 41.583.

12-time Olympic medallist Arianna Fontana recorded a time of 41.679 and has qualified for the semi-final.
