Another boarder hits the deck. Rise Kudo, 16, stays in provisional fourth after bailing out of her final run.

    Three boarders left.

In the fourth-quarter final, four of the five skaters crossed the line almost together.

There are 0.18 seconds between them - but those finishing third and fourth, Italy's Luca Spechenhauser and Reinis Berzins of Latvia, are out.

    Gutting.

    Richard Winton

Remember what we were saying about Rebecca Morrison and swearing?

Well, the GB player has just let out a bad one after making an equally bad mistake. It's allowed China to take two and edge 4-3 ahead with two to play.

Cai Xuetong just took all of the energy that Ga-on had built. That was so close, such a shame she couldn't get that.

The heat has come up in the kitchen and if you can't take it, get out!

    Women's halfpipe final

Oh no! China's Xuetong Cai's latest run is full of energy and thrills, but she's another who can't quite avoid a fall, and her run ends premature.

    Four riders to go.

Choi Ga-on is our provisional leader. Chloe Kim will go up last.

The reaction from the crowd to that run by Gaon Choi was a mix of “oh my god that was incredible”, and “oh my god Chloe Kim has work to do”.

    Wow.

No pressure for the two-time champ.

Yep, as expected, Italy's Pietro Sighel is penalised as is France's Quentin Fercoq.

China's Long Sun and Latvia's Roberts Kruzbergs automatically qualify.

Poland's Michal Niewinski is allowed to advance because of the ruling on Sighel.

Gaon Choi there, that was a perfect run. I'm a little bit gob-smacked to be honest.

    Short track - Men's 1000m

There has been a lengthy official video review after the third men's quarter-final, following a coming together between Italy's Pietro Sighel and Michal Niewinski of Poland.

It appears Sighel might have stepped across Niewinski, sending him tumbling to the floor. If he is penalised that will not be popular in the arena.

There is also a check for a collision involving France's Quentin Fercoq near the end. Turns out video reviews take ages in every sport.

And there are groans and whistles around the Arena as Sighel is disqualified. Not the way you would want your home Olympics to go.

Gaon Choi, what a run! Unbelievable.

To get back up from that fall is incredible.

  15. New leader in the halfpipe!published at 19:50 GMT 12 February

    Women's halfpipe final

Take a bow Choi Ga-on! The 17-year-old had fallen on both her two runs in this final but on this go she absolutely smashes it with some cracking tricks and a frontside seven to finish.

She goes into first place with a run of 90.25!!

    Five more boarders to go.

A lengthy VAR review going on here ... sounds familiar doesn't it?

Italy's Pietro Sighel might be disqualified. That won't go down well in Milan.

Right at the end Queralt Castellet Ibanez has dropped it. It's such a shame, she knows how close that was. All she had to do was ride that out, it's so disappointing.

    Women's halfpipe final

We've had 37 runs but only 11 have been fully landed in this final.

Spain's Queralt Castellet Ibanez is on for a cracking score with an ally-oop and frontside and backside nines.

But she too gets caught on her edge and slides to the ground.
