I just feel like Liu is a little overwhelmed with the power of Gauff now.

There’s a big shout from Coco Gauff as she holds off Claire Liu to reach game point, and she swipes the air with a clenched fist as she slices in to edge closer to victory.

This has been a real test of her patience, but she’s so close now.

  3. Gauff holdspublished at 19:43 BST 3 July

    *Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 2-4 Gauff

Coco Gauff throws away a 30-0 lead but closes out the hold with a perfectly angled backhand.

She had to be sharp to get up to a low-bouncing ball and didn't have much room at all to put it across the front of Claire Liu.

Coco Gauff is being a little more aggressive in this third set - and I think that is a good quality. She is forcing herself to hit with conviction and push the envelope.

    Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 2-3 Gauff*

On the whole, Claire Liu has been very sharp in her movements up to the net and has shown excellent touch with her volleys.

She brings up 30-15 with a forehand volley and then gives away her lead with her 30-something forehand unforced error. This one's long.

But she battles through to hold to 30. The world number 146 is still in this. One lapse from Coco Gauff and we'll be in for a blockbuster finish.

  6. 'It has not been Liu's friend'published at 19:36 BST 3 July

    *Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 1-3 Gauff

Claire Liu has got to stay positive here. She also needs to show more positivity.

The forehand has not been a friend for her today. That's something for her to work on in the summer, it just needs a touch more top spin.

After tightening up so well in the second set, Liu is starting to spray here.

  8. Gauff holdspublished at 19:34 BST 3 July

    *Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 1-3 Gauff

Claire Liu continues to be a thorn in Coco Gauff's side, digging in for point after point, but the seventh seed holds to 15 with a teasing drop shot.

We're getting through this set at a decent rate of knots.

A hold to love apiece as both appear pretty comfortable with the ball in hand.

This is where a lot of players talk about visualisation. If you can visualise being in a situation like this and stay calm, then it is only a good thing.

The players do so much more mental work now than we did in the past.

  11. Liu holdspublished at 19:29 BST 3 July

    Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 1-2 Gauff*

Claire Liu shakes her head as she sends yet another forehand long. Two in the game, no idea how many in the match. 30-all.

She comes up with a big first serve down the T for game point and gets on the board when Coco Gauff, down low on the baseline, puts a backhand into the net.

  12. Gauff holdspublished at 19:26 BST 3 July

    *Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 0-2 Gauff

A sixth double fault of the match for Coco Gauff. 30-all.

She misses another first serve but wisely places her second in the centre of the service box before following a sliced backhand into the net. No further shots are required as Claire Liu puts a backhand into the net.

    Gauff holds to 30.

  13. 'Gauff is so good at moving forwardpublished at 19:26 BST 3 July

    Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 0-1 Gauff*

    Tracy Austin

It is always so impressive to see Coco Gauff compete, time after time. She lost that second set and had the match points, but she is just so good at moving forward.

I think her problem is her forehand. It just isn't as penetrating as it needs to be and it doesn't hold up. She only has one forehand winner this match.

  14. Opening set stays on servepublished at 19:22 BST 3 July

    Auger-Aliassime 2-1 Zheng*

Michael Zheng has come through a couple of five set matches to reach this point - beating Briton Cameron Norrie and fellow qualifier Nicolas Mejia.

Felix Auger-Aliassime undoubtedly poses his toughest test to date at this tournament but a hold to love will settle any early nerves.

Auger-Aliassime drops a couple of double faults but goes on to hold - keeping the opening set on serve.

That's a lovely return from Coco Gauff, cross-court and deep onto Claire Liu's backhand. Liu goes into the net.

  16. 'Now the pressure amounts on Gauff'published at 19:21 BST 3 July

    *Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 0-0 Gauff

    Jeff Tarango
Former American tennis player on BBC Radio 5 Live

Now the pressure really mounts on Coco [Gauff], she's getting more tired as the match goes on. She had a really tough match before this one that she barely got through.

Liu is so aggressive with her approaches. Coco with the double fault on the last set, you have to worry about that.

  17. Break points Gauffpublished at 19:21 BST 3 July

    *Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 0-0 Gauff

Coco Gauff broke in the opening game of the first set and she has two opportunities to do so again in the third, leading 15-40. She hasn't had to hit a winner either.

  18. Liu 'adapted'published at 19:19 BST 3 July

    *Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) Gauff

    Jeff Tarango
Former American tennis player on BBC Radio 5 Live

Liu really adapted her game for that second set. She was trying to out hit Coco [Gauff], but Coco was just being aggressive. Then we saw a lot more net approaches for her, a lot more pressure was built.

  19. 'A difficult one to get over'published at 19:19 BST 3 July

    *Liu 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 0-0 Gauff

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC Two

Coco Gauff is going to need a little bit of time. That's a difficult one to get over because, serving for the set, she lost her serve and she had three match points.

It just looked like Claire Liu was playing better and better. She returned so much better. Net points won 17 out of 22 shows she is getting herself forward an awful lot.

  20. Action under way on Centre Courtpublished at 19:17 BST 3 July

    Auger-Aliassime 1-0 Zheng*

Over on Centre Court, third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and qualifier Michael Zheng have just started their third round match.

Auger-Aliassime makes a pretty routine start with a hold to 15.
