    Liu 3-6 3-3 Gauff*

Another 0-30 lead for Claire Liu - can she capitalise this time?

  3. Liu holdspublished at 18:28 BST 3 July

    Liu 3-6 3-3 Gauff*

Claire Liu appears to have shaken off the disappointment of the previous game, attacking the net and dispatching a backhand volley for 30-0.

She loops a deep forehand, which sits up nicely for Coco Gauff, but she comes over the ball and drives it into the tramlines.

A lengthy exchange of cross-court forehand follows before Liu pushes a deep stroke onto Gauff's backhand and rushes the net for a winner.

    Solid hold.

Aryna Sabalenka has been doing really well so far at staying really low to counter-power Jelena Ostapenko's tough strokes from the back of the court, but on one occasion there she was way too high on her legs and she tried to compensate with her racquet-head speed.

If she keeps doing that, it won't be good enough to control the speed of the ball.

    Liu 3-6 2-2 Gauff*

Hmmmm what was I saying about Coco Gauff finding her rhythm? She opens her latest service game with a double fault and a loose forehand.

Fortunately for the seventh seed, Claire Liu is equally out of sorts and misses identical forehands for 30-all.

The pair trade points for deuce. Everything's just gone a bit flat on court one.

Overall, I've been impressed with Sabalenka's composure.

I know the scoreboard is in her favour, but she hasn't allowed herself to get too high and not allowed herself to get too low at all.

    Very calm.

    *Sabalenka 6-4 2-1 Ostapenko

Chaos at the start of the second set on Centre Court - three straight breaks of serve and Aryna Sabalenka has the advantage again, getting it done at the third time of asking having gone 0-40 up in the game.

Deary me. What happened to Aryna Sabalenka there?

The Belarusian stood with her hands on her hips and stared up at her team after gifting Jelena Ostapenko three break points, and she throws her arm away in frustration after double faulting.

Well there's a surprise - Jelena Ostapenko puts that loss of serve behind her very quickly and breaks serve herself to love.

  13. 'Ostapenko starting to feel the pressure'published at 18:16 BST 3 July

    *Sabalenka 6-4 1-0 Ostapenko

    Marion Bartoli
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

That was a tough game for Jelena Ostapenko, who is starting to really feel the pressure from Aryna Sabalenka, who is edging further and further inside the court, especially on her opponent's second serves.

The problem for Ostapenko is when she faces someone who is able to hit the ball harder than her, she goes into the mode of trying to hit the ball even harder and that's when it starts going completely off piste.

  14. Ball toss has 'knock-on effect'published at 18:15 BST 3 July

    *Sabalenka 6-4 1-0 Ostapenko

    Chris Bradnam

From all the matches I have watched of Ostapenko, when the ball toss is quite errant, two or three in a row, it definitely has a knock-on effect to the next shots in her game.

  15. Gauff holdspublished at 18:14 BST 3 July

    *Liu 3-6 1-2 Gauff

Coco Gauff is finding her rhythm again after that lapse in the opening game, holding to 15.

The pick of the points? A pinpoint backhand pass which nestles in the corner of the court. Gauff raises a triumphant fist and beams. Deservedly so.

  16. Sabalenka breaks at start of second setpublished at 18:14 BST 3 July

    *Sabalenka 6-4 1-0 Ostapenko

Aryna Sabalenka races out of the blocks in the second set and immediately has two break points to take complete control of this third-round match.

Her returns on both break points go long.

She gets a third chance later in the game but Ostapenko's forehand gets her out of trouble again, only for a double fault to put her back into it.

And Sabalenka smacks a forehand return winner to seize the initiative.

  17. 'You can see how Liu went through qualifying fairly easily'published at 18:12 BST 3 July

    Liu 3-6 1-1 Gauff*

    Jeff Tarango
Former American tennis player on BBC Radio 5 Live

I really like Claire Liu's backhand. She is approaching the net and playing very aggressive tennis right now, but it just isn't clicking for her at the end because Coco Gauff is such a good counter-puncher. You can see how she went through qualifying fairly easily though.

Gauff is playing really consistently, absorbing the pace well and her serve is very strong today.

We're back on serve early in the second set.

There was also a double fault in that service game from Claire Liu. She's gifting points away.

Well, well. Coco Gauff puts a backhand into the net.

Claire Liu has her nose in front at the start of the second set.

They've just said on commentary that 20 of Gauff's matches this season have gone the distance...third set inbound?
