This second set has been very topsy-turvy.

Katie Swan forces a couple of backhand errors to lead 0-30 and then plays a down-the-line backhand winner with her knee on the floor for 15-40.

Work to do for Madison Keys again.

What a return from Madison Keys - a pacy forehand right on to the baseline and Katie Swan's off-balance ricochet of a reply goes into the opposite tramlines.

Keys is back out in front.

That was an awful forehand from Madison Keys! I don't think she has played that well, to be honest with you, even though she is 6-1 3-2 up. She has been stuttering quite a bit to get herself through some of these really tricky games against Katie Swan.

The Brit is lurking, she could potentially become problematic in this match. Madison Keys seems really irritated by that break.

Katie Swan lets out a roar and Court One erupts. Her gritty performance has finally been rewarded with a break.

  6. Pliskova breaks early in second setpublished at 14:17 BST 2 July

    Pliskova 1-6 2-0 Swiatek*

    Karolina Pliskova has arrived.

Pliskova makes a positive start to the second set. The Czech saves a break point before going on to get her first hold of the match.

And she builds further on that by breaking Iga Swiatek.

Pliskova has already won more points in the opening two games of this set than she did across the entire first set.

    Swan 1-6 2-3 Keys*

Madison Keys and Katie Swan exchange points for 30-all, the Brit using all of her athleticism to level the game by retrieving a short ball and putting it an uncomfortable stretch away from the American, who returns into the net.

Court One isn't far away from court 18, so when I heard a massive cheer in the distance I thought that might have something to do with Arthur Fery.

That's one British player through to the third round. How many more, if any, will join him?

Katie Swan has a mountain to climb if she's to have any chance.

A determined fist clench from Madison Keys, staring intensely at her box.

But the American will have another chance here, pounding consecutive cross-court backhands at Katie Swan and coming up trumps.

That's the first real sign of disappointment Madison Keys has displayed in this match, slumping her shoulders after shanking a forehand long.

  12. GB's Fery into round threepublished at 14:10 BST 2 July

    Fery 5-7 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 6-3 Virtanen

Great Britain's Arthur Fery, who got a wildcard to enter this year's Wimbledon, will earn prize money of at least £185,000 for reaching the third round.

That's a huge financial gain for a player currently lying just outside the top 100 in the world rankings.

In round three, he'll meet another unseeded player - either Zizou Bergs of Belgium or Portugal's Jaime Faria.

Bergs is a set up in their match which is currently being played on court 15.

    Fery 5-7 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 6-3 Virtanen

Great Britain's Arthur Fery is into the third round of Wimbledon!

A magnificent backhand winner completes a four-set win over Otto Virtanen.

The 23-year-old wildcard maintained an excellent level of play throughout, especially on serve, and recovered from losing the first set to book his spot in the last 32 at a major for the first time.

Double fault, loose forehand... a bit of pressure on Katie Swan's serve down 0-30.

    *Pliskova 1-6 0-0 Swiatek

    Harry Poole
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Iga Swiatek cried on court after battling to her three-set win over Taylor Townsend in her opening match on Tuesday, having found opening play on Centre Court as the reigning champion "really emotional".

This could not feel much more different.

One very temporary blip aside, this has been a mightily impressive display from the defending champion.

Swiatek won 26 of the 35 points played in that set, making just five unforced errors, and continues to look in complete command.

The skip of delight and shake of the fist after she wrapped up the first set tells us plenty about how she is feeling out there today.

Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

These are potentially huge moments for Arthur Fery. I wonder what he is thinking.

As I look down from my commentary position, there is not a seat to be had on court 18. There are people on the rooftop position looking down on this match because the Brit is about to serve for this match.

That's a huge hold for Madison Keys having seen her serve come under pressure in three of her past four service games.

Not that you can tell from her facial expression. She's looked unperturbed throughout this match.
