    Murphy 15-16 Wu

If your luck is in, there is nothing your opponent can do about it. Wu misses what would have been another spectacular long red, only for it to collide into another one and send that into the corner pocket.

The only good news for Murphy is there is no pot on a colour.

  3. Wu two frames from the titlepublished at 21:17 BST 4 May

    Murphy 15-16 Wu (0-65, Wu 56)

Wu goes back in front and inches ever closer to the finish line. Just two more frames to go for him. Murphy needs to win three of the final four frames.

Wu Yize is one of the most fearless and entertaining players since Jimmy White. Everything from spreading the pack to long pots to thin cuts are the summation of what we should want to see in this sport.

    Murphy 15-15 Wu

Wu's long potting is just marvellous and he nudges 58-0 ahead. There are still 59 points in play, but three of the four reds are in tough positions and he's knocked the black ball safe too.

They are both unbelievable to watch. So natural.

    Murphy 15-15 Wu

Wu makes a break of 56 to be 57-0 ahead then leaves the cue ball close to the side cushion right next to the brown, but Murphy produces some top safety work to keep the frame alive. He fought back from 0-70 down in the last frame, can he do the same from 0-57?

Can Wu make it a one-visit win in frame 31? He is in a strong position to do so, 0-39 in front and still going.

  10. What a daypublished at 21:06 BST 4 May

    Murphy 15-15 Wu

A quick recap of what has happened so far today. Wu Yize held a 10-7 overnight lead, Shaun Murphy won five in a row to go 12-10 ahead, only for Wu to take four on the bounce and move 14-12 in front.

Murphy made it 14-14, Wu nudged back on top to go 15-14 ahead, only for Murphy to snatch the 30th frame on the black, having earlier been 0-70 down.

Five to go. What a final. What a World Championship. Great drama. And it will only get better.

  11. Brilliant Murphy clearance as he wins frame on the blackpublished at 21:01 BST 4 May

    Murphy 15-15 Wu (73-70, Murphy 73, Wu 70)

For the second frame in a row, it goes to the black ball. Wu took the previous frame. Murphy, having trailed 0-70, wins it with a clearance of 65.

Earlier in this tournament, he said his match-winning clearance in his 10-9 first-round win over Fan Zhengyi, which came after he had been 53-17 down in the decider, had been the best he had ever made at the Crucible.

That may well have just been overtaken.

Great drama, 15-15. Now it's the best of five.

    Murphy 14-15 Wu

Murphy is still going, just one red left. He was 0-70 behind, now it's 39-70. Enough on the table without needing a snooker.

An extremely hampered cueing with the spider leaves Murphy missing a red after only scoring eight. But Wu then misses the red so the steal of all steals is still possible, 8-70.

  14. Wu played 'awesome' snooker against Allenpublished at 20:51 BST 4 May

    John Parrott

Every time that Wu looks under a bit of pressure and he starts struggling, he comes back and produces this type of snooker. He did it throughout this championship, and in the semi-final he was awesome against Mark Allen.

    Murphy 14-15 Wu

Wu Yize makes a break of 70, but it ends there and with six reds on the table there are 75 points still available. Wu stole the previous frame, this would be an even more incredible recovery if Murphy can turn this one around.

Wu rattles in yet another excellent red to get going and this could be a two-frame lead again.

Right, we're back in the action. A reminder that 18 frames is the finish line, so Wu Yize needs three more, Shaun Murphy four.

We have a maximum of six frames left. We have not had a final-frame decider in a Crucible final since Peter Ebdon beat Stephen Hendry in 2002.

I think if possible it should stay in Sheffield. You have all the signs of "Sheffield Loves Snooker" all over the place, not just the Crucible, it’s the city itself, and because of the commitment that they are showing to do this, I think it would be a bit cruel to take it away from Sheffield.

There was also a feature about the news that the World Championship will be staying at the Crucible until at least 2045.

There will be at least one year when the tournament will be played elsewhere while the Crucible is renovated - but where?
