It's getting to the point of the match where talent almost goes out of the window. It's about whether you can handle it, can you keep control of the cue ball and make every shot easy?

Wu is now up to 28 and still in a strong position, 45-28.
Remember, 18 frames is the target.

Are Shaun Murphy and Wu Yize going to serve up the first final-frame decider since Peter Ebdon beat Stephen Hendry in 2002?
If they do so it will be only the fourth on record since the tournament moved to the Crucible in 1977.
Can anyone remember the drama of the other two?

Wu was 45-0 behind. He has just sunk a long red and the door is open to snatch it, although there is a lot of work to do.

If Wu Yize becomes world champion today, it will be the fourth successive year that there has been a first-time winner at the Crucible.
Luca Brecel won the event in 2023, followed by Kyren Wilson a year later and Zhao Xintong 12 months ago.

It's getting more tense by the shot here.

Shaun Murphy misses a red, it nearly rolls along the cushion into the opposite corner, but stays out. But there is nothing left on. Fine margins.

Tension. Shaun Murphy misses a red, Wu Yize does likewise, 45-0.

This is the closest World Championship final since at least 2018 when Mark Williams beat John Higgins 18-16. A reminder that we've not had an 18-17 since 2002 when Peter Ebdon beat Stephen Hendry.

I understand everyone is excited by the style of play of Wu, but a bit more respect needs to be put on Shaun Murphy name. He has every chance of winning this.

What a match this is. Shaun Murphy with a magical 131 clearance, including an exhibition-style double on the black to finish it off.
A best-of-three for all the glory. That is Murphy's 12th century of this tournament, three more than any other player.
Sixteen-all. Now comes a best of three to win the title. Brilliant drama.
Murphy 15-16 Wu
Murphy up to 36 and still in possession of the table. After 10-10, 12-12 and 14-14, we could be looking at 16-16 soon.

There was a massive roar of disbelief inside the press room when that fluke went in. But there is so much snooker left to be played here.
Shaun Murphy came from 13-11 and 15-13 down to John Higgins in the semi-final. Discount him at your peril.

That break he’s just made there. The thing with him [Wu] is he doesn’t care really where the cue ball goes. It went all over the place.
Shaun is a lot more neater and tidier. But at the moment, the balls Wu leaves himself with under pressure, he’s knocking them in.

Wu's decision making is suspect. He is trying to take on pots he shouldn't be anywhere near, and I think it will cost him the match.
