If Wu Yize wins from here I’ll be gutted for Shaun Murphy.

    Murphy 17-17 Wu

An underhit effort throws in more drama. The pink is now in the way of the target red to leave a much more tricky red with the rest, but Wu responds superbly to down that red, 8-34. A few shots away from winning it all.

Wu's heart is going to be racing. He has one hand on the trophy at 14-8 ahead and an inviting table. Hold his nerve and he is the champion.

We have seen some many examples of Wu Yize’s temperament. If he does get a chance, and blocks the memory of that missed black in that previous frame and to focus on the next chance, that would be a huge test of his temperament.

    Deciding frame setup

There could be a long red on, but Murphy would have to bridge over both green and yellow to go for it, 8-0.

Fantastic snooker; just a brilliant final. And a treat from the commentators too. All excellent. Parrott sneaks it as my favourite - humorous, fair and always optimistic. Thanks all.

Wu deals with the cue ball on the baulk cushion with one shot, but then gets put back there again soon after.

But he responds in style by sliding the white behind the green. There are 12 reds on the table, all in a nice position. Whoever pots the next red could have the title in their grasp.

Whoever loses can hold their head high. It's no place to be finishing runner up by one frame.

Absolutely gripping stuff! I was really tired a few minutes ago... but I'm wide awake now! Great advert for snooker.

Murphy pots the red into the middle, but soon after nudges the black out of position and opts to go green for safety, 7-0. Wu back at the table with the cue ball tight to the baulk cushion.

What an incredible World Snooker Championship and what a final! What tenacity from Wu Yize and what bottle from Shaun Murphy with that clearance. My earlier post asked for a 18-17 decider and it's happened. Good luck both me and may the odds and luck be in your favour.

    Murphy 17-17 Wu

What does Wu do here, with the cue ball tucked up to the green? He has taken nearly two minutes to decide, before opting for a four-cushion safety. He hits a red, but there's a red left on to right middle.

What a wonderful, wonderful final. Credit to both players regardless of the result but that being said - COME ON SHAUN!
