  1. try

Try Edinburgh 10-17 TOULONpublished at 21 mins

    Ben White

The penalty eventually comes, but White takes it quick and throws himself over the line like a short-range missile.

There's no stopping him from there. Brilliant ingenuity from the scrum-half. That's why he's Scotland's number nine.

Edinburgh aren't happy with where that penalty is taken from, but Matthew Carley is.

Melvyn Jaminet adds the extras, but injures himself in the process of taking the conversion and has to come off.

    Edinburgh 10-10 Toulon

Toulon are back in Edinburgh's 22m and their scrum has absolutely mullered the hosts. From the resulting penalty, they go for the throw.

Edinburgh initially hold back the driving maul, but Toulon are able to recycle. Nacho Brex and David Ribbans go close, with the advantage going on and on...

The delayed ball from Ewan Ashman off Ben Vellacott's pass is exceptional.

I thought from that break they'd missed the opportunity, but they kept their composure. They had the confidence to keep hold of possession and it's a great effort from Schoeman.

  4. try

Try EDINBURGH 10-10 Toulonpublished at 14 mins

    Pierre Schoeman

Now it's Edinburgh's turn for a foray forward. Ewan Ashman breaks and is hauled down just short. They've got the advantage...

But they don't need it! Schoeman crashes over and the Hive vibrates with the sound of his nickname.

And now Cammy Scott slots it. Game on!

  5. Penalty EDINBURGH 3-10 Toulonpublished at 10 mins

    Cammy Scott

That's a penalty in the midfield after a high tackle. Fairly innocuous and Matthew Carley keeps his cards in his pockets.

Scott wants to go for the sticks... and fair play to the young man, he slots it.

A bit of light for Edinburgh.

    Edinburgh 0-10 Toulon

    Chris Paterson
Former Scotland international on Premier Sports

It was a miss-throw from Edinburgh and Toulon went 10 or 12 phases - so you can keep the ball.

It will give Toulon a lot of confidence, and it's a simple finish in the end, well identified by Ben White.

  7. try

Try Edinburgh 0-10 TOULONpublished at 7 mins

    Ben White

Within a few phases, Toulon are already deep in Edinburgh's backyard.

There's a couple of big carries before White snipes from the side of the ruck, and the Scotland scrum-half scurries over from close range.

Jaminet adds the extras from bang in front.

    Edinburgh 0-3 Toulon

    Ian Madigan
Former Ireland fly-half on Premier Sports

    Hell of a kick.

The drop wasn't perfect, but he's saved it with the connection. That'll be the last time Edinburgh kick it long to him tonight.

  9. Drop-goal Edinburgh 0-3 TOULONpublished at 1 min

    Melvyn Jaminet

It is absolutely chucking it down here. Expect thrills and spills in the early stages.

In Toulon's first attacking phase, Lewis Ludlam charges towards the line but is held up.

From the drop out, Melvyn Jaminet collects and slots over with a crisp drop-goal. That's sublime.

  10. Kick-offpublished at 17:31 GMT 7 December 2025

    Edinburgh 0-0 Toulon

Matthew Carley is the man in the middle, in his yellow and black kit, with Edinburgh in their eye-catching orange and navy European kit, and Toulon in an off-white number.

    And we are off.

  11. 'We found an ugly win but we’ll take that'published at 17:30 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Gloucester 34-14 Castres

Gloucester director of rugby George Skivington speaking to Premier Sports:

"I’m really pleased with the result. If we looked at the result we’d have taken that before the game.

"We made it difficult in some areas but the boys work rate, there were some sticky spots that they found their way out of. We found an ugly win but we’ll take that. You can see our game coming through.

"I think we lost 10 line-outs or something ridiculous like that which kills a lot of your attacking platform but I think when we had the ball we created things and we’re getting there."

  12. 'You're on at full-back'published at 17:27 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Gloucester 34-14 Castres

Gloucester’s Charlie Atkinson made a huge difference with those two second-half tries but it sounded like he was a bit surprised to be called on at half-time!

    Speaking to Premier Sports:

“It popped up on me with little warning really. I was in the changing rooms having a drink of water when they said ‘you’re on at full-back’.

"I knew the moves at full-back and 10 and the boys put me in a good position.

"Our line-out wasn’t going as well as we hoped. We wanted quick line-outs and to keep the ball in play to break them down eventually.”

  13. Everett excited to face one of rugby's 'giants'published at 17:26 GMT 7 December 2025

    Edinburgh v Toulon (17:30)

Edinburgh head coach Sean Everett tells Premier Sports: "It's a proud moment for all of us, a lot of the squad have been involved in this Cup before, and we spoek through the week about the memories they've created.

"Everyone wants to be at the pinnacle of their sport, individually or as a team. The guys are proud, they've worked hard to be here. Tonight, we have an opportunity to put in a good performance in front of our home fans.

"I had the experience of playing Toulon in France many years ago. Playing one of the giants of rugby union is fantastic.

"We knew it was going to rain all week, the weather hasn't changed all week. The kicking game and transitions will be important so we need to be on top of it and pounce on the loose ball."

    FT: Gloucester 34-14 Castres

Gloucester scrum-half Tomos Williams speaking to Premier Sports

"Full credit to the boys for stepping in. Our set-piece and line-out didn’t go well but towards the end they picked it up very well there.

"That wind was probably worth more than we put on scoreboard but we dealt with it well in the second half.

"The forwards carried well to give us the chance to score in the corner."

    Edinburgh v Toulon (17:30)

So far this afternoon we've had Northampton beating Pau across the channel, then Gloucester beating Castres at Kingsholm.

Now, it's over to Edinburgh to beat a stacked Toulon in the Scottish capital.

Sean Everett has named a surprisingly young side, while Toulon have plenty of their big guns in from the start.

Let's take a look at the teams...

  17. Postpublished at 17:17 GMT 7 December 2025

    FT: Ospreys 24-21 Connacht

    Richie Rees
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

Ospreys completely turned the game around at half-time.

They were more physical after half-time, credit to them, and they thoroughly deserved that victory here today.

    FT: Gloucester 34-14 Castres

It was 14-14 with 20 minutes to go but Gloucester stepped things up in the closing stages and that late try to grab the bonus point will send the Kingsholm faithful home happy.

Castres discipline - they conceded 19 penalties - caught up with them in that last 20 as they lost two players to yellow cards.

    Ospreys 24-21 Connacht

A remarkable comeback win for Ospreys in Bridgend after Connacht led 21-0.

The Welsh side score three tries in the second half through Phil Cokanasiga, Ryan Smith and Iestyn Hopkins to enjoy the most unlikely of bonus-point wins.
