  1. Penalty EDINBURGH 21-17 Toulonpublished at 53 mins

    Cammy Scott

Edinburgh's pressure continues and they win the penalty in Toulon's 22m as Esteban Abadie is forced into evasive action to stop Edinburgh's counter-ruck.

A chance from the tee... and Cammy Scott nails it again.

    Edinburgh 18-17 Toulon

Edinburgh have fielded a few kicks really well in this second half, with Harry Paterson in particular standing out.

There's a nice kick from James Lang and a big carry from Pierre Schoeman that gets them up the pitch. Wes Goosen tries to kick through, but there's too much on it and Mateo Garcia can tap down behind his own line.

They are taking a long, long time to look at this on the big screens.

In a phase of play miles back, as Darcy Graham tried to field a kick, the ball is adjudged to have brushed his left hand, and therefore be a knock-on.

It's meant to be clear and obvious. Doesn't look it to me, I must say.

    Darcy Graham

After phase after phase off chaotic rugby, Graham gets onto the end of a Ewan Ashman pop-pass and cruises over.

They're looking at it for a knock-on way back in the play, but the onfield decision is a try.

    Edinburgh 18-17 Toulon

End-to-end in the opening few minutes, with both Edinburgh and Toulon giving the ball away in their own 22 metres.

It all started from a Liam McConnell charge down. This kid is the real deal.

Anyway, it all ends with Darcy Graham calling a mark.

  6. Kick-offpublished at 41 mins

    Edinburgh 18-17 Toulon

Well all that half-time chat about Ollie Blyth-Lafferty, and he's off at the break. I'm sure that was always the plan, but still a brilliant showing from him on his full debut.

Paul Hill is on for the second 40 minutes, which are under way now.

A word for this young man, as well.

Ollie Blyth-Lafferty, just 19-year-old, is making his first pro start at tighthead against France international Jean-Baptiste Gros and so far, he's held out well.

Scotland's dearth of quality number threes is no secret, so plenty of eyes will be watching his progression.

Both teams are playing a similar brand of rugby in the conditions. It's not been perfect, but they're carrying well and getting to the breakdoen early.

Ben White has been sharp. He said he's looking forward to the game and you can see why.

Edinburgh will be frustrated with the second try, they're just caught napping. White is getting stuck in to a few of his Scotland teammates and he's enjoying it.

  10. Scott's penalty the differencepublished at 18:18 GMT 7 December 2025

    HT: Edinburgh 18-17 Toulon

Cammy Scott was a surprise selection at number 10 for this game - one of many in the Edinburgh ranks.

But the 24-year-old has looked solid at fly-half and it is his penalty that nudged Edinburgh just ahead before the break.

  11. Half-time Edinburgh 18-17 Toulonpublished at 18:15 GMT 7 December 2025

Oh that was almost even better from Cammy Scott!

The number 10 dips between two defenders and chips it over the final defender, but Nacho Brex is back to dot down behind his own line and bring the half to a close.

With Edinburgh ten points down after just seven minutes, not many would have expected them to lead at half-time, but here we are.

A chance to catch our breaths.

Darcy Graham is haring away as Edinburgh steal it on their own 22m!

But he can't get away from Mateo Garcia who hauls him down on the edge of Toulon's 22m.

Most rugby fans would have expected Graham to be away there.

And we've got our first argy-bargy of the evening.

It's Ewan Ashman and Lewis Ludlam going at it, before David Ribbans gets involved. It all came from a ruck clear-out as well, quite innocent.

A lot of shirt pulling, laughing in faces, the usual nonsense.

  15. Penalty EDINBURGH 18-17 Toulonpublished at 34 mins

    Cammy Scott

Edinburgh win another penalty and Scott slots it from inside the 22m.

The hosts lead for the first time in this match.

    Edinburgh 15-17 Toulon

Here come Edinburgh again through Harry Paterson. The fullback crashes between two defenders and somehow stays on his feet.

He dances by another, and another, but is eventually brought down.

This game has been as chaotic and messy as the weather.

  17. try

Try EDINBURGH 15-17 Toulonpublished at 29 mins

    Ben Vellacott

Oh that is exceptional from Edinburgh!

The line-out is good, and they're heading towards the line. Ewan Ashman peels off, and pops out the back for Vellacott to leap over in the corner.

Almost a five-star frog splash from Edinburgh's number nine.

Too wide for Cammy Scott, who can't hook it round.

    Edinburgh 10-17 Toulon

The scrum battle is really interesting, and Pierre Schoeman is doing his best to try and referee it.

Edinburgh win a penalty from this one and point to the corner.

  19. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Edinburgh 10-17 Toulon

Edinburgh win a scrum and Ben Vellacott tries to chip over to Darcy Graham. It bounces before the Scotland winger gathers, but he's dumped into contact by Ben White.

The scrum-half is playing with a point to prove!

  20. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Edinburgh 10-17 Toulon

Ben Vellacott tries a quick tap, just like his opposite number, but this time he knocks on in the contact.

Ben White is over to give him a little pat on the head. I think you'd call that 'sledging'.
