    Rose -7, Zalatoris -6 (8)

Co-leader Rose - that's the first time in a while we've said that - recovers from that three-putt on 8 with a beauty of a drive on the par-four ninth.

The Englishman's second shot isn't bad either. Into the heart of the green.

    Zalatoris does even better, however.

A longer drive tighter to the right cut of the fairway, opens up the flag nicely. The approach looks like it could be splendid, but rather unfortunately hits the slight slope to the top part of the green.

  2. Bogey for Connerspublished at 22:44 BST 10 April 2021

    Conners -4 (14)

Corey Conners is battling his way through a tough couple of holes.

He found the par-three 13th green in two blows but then three-putted from 21 feet for par after leaving his eagle attempt eight feet short of the hole.

The Canadian then pulls his drive on the 14th and finds his ball nestled up behind a tree.

He plays a left-handed shot with his right-handed club reversed and his ball ricochets off the tree and almost cannons back into him, which would have been a penalty.

His third shot finishes 30 feet to the right of the pin. The par putt pulls up short. Bogey.

  3. Birdie for Spiethpublished at 22:43 BST 10 April 2021

    Spieth -5, Wiesberger -3 (10)

We said Jordan Spieth had been teeing up birdie opportunities, now he takes one that wouldn't even be classed as a chance...

The 2015 champion leaves his approach short of the green, 22 yards from the pin, but he sends a deft chip scurrying up the smooth stuff and it disappears for birdie.

That was superbly weighted, not like his effort that hit the flag and dropped on Thursday, and Spieth moves to within two shots of the lead.

  4. Birdie for Harmanpublished at 22:42 BST 10 April 2021

    Harman -5, Leishman -6 (9)

Another par for Marc Leishman but a much more encouraging hole for Brian Harman, who collects his first birdie since the second.

It all adds to the congested feel at the top of the leaderboard with 10 players within four shots of the lead.

  5. Leaderboardpublished at 22:39 BST 10 April 2021

  6. Rose three putts for a parpublished at 22:36 BST 10 April 2021

    Rose -7, Zalatoris -6 (8)

Justin Rose aims way out right with his eagle putt and gives it a good thump towards the pin. A couple of feet short but a makeable putt for a birdie, which would put him clear again of Matsuyama.

First, Zalatoris can join them on seven under - for now - but sees his eagle putt slide by.

Back to Rose... he's missed it to the right. A par will have to do. Zalatoris knocks in for the birdie.

  7. Matsuyama shares the leadpublished at 22:34 BST 10 April 2021

    Matsuyama -7, Schauffele -4 (12)

Hideki Matsuyama is on a roll.

Back-to-back birdies for the first time this week give the Japanese player a share of the lead. He set that up with a lovely tee shot, landing his ball around 10 feet from the pin on the 155-yard par three.

Xander Schauffele but recovers for par with a deft chip that runs to within three feet of the cup.

  8. Postpublished at 22:32 BST 10 April 2021

    Thomas -4, Finau -3 (9)

A peach of a second shot from Justin Thomas gives him a chance to immediately wipe out that bogey on the ninth.

A five-foot putt awaits... but he can't steer it in.

  9. Postpublished at 22:30 BST 10 April 2021

    Spieth -4, Wiesberger -4 (9)

Close again from Jordan Spieth, a few have those have stayed up today.

The American leaves his birdie putt a few inches left of the cup from 18 feet.

    He's giving himself the opportunities.

  10. Birdie for Matsuyamapublished at 22:30 BST 10 April 2021

    Matsuyama -6, Schauffele -4 (11)

Hideki Matsuyama gets his reward for a superb approach into the 11th green, dropping in his birdie putt.

He's in a two-man tie for second, a stroke behind the leader Justin Rose.

Nothing doing for Xander Schauffele, who can only come away with a par.

  11. Eagle putts for Rose and Zalatorispublished at 22:30 BST 10 April 2021

    Rose -7, Zalatoris -5 (7)

On to the par-five eighth for our leader - the hole where Rose kickstarted his Masters bid on Thursday.

Then, he claimed an eagle after a troubled start. Now, he has another chance - albeit with a 50-foot putt - to push him further ahead at the top.

Zalatoris goes even better, knocking his second to about 20 feet for an eagle putt.

  12. Birdie for Leishmanpublished at 22:28 BST 10 April 2021

    Harman -4, Leishman -6 (8)

A perfectly judged pitch on to the green sees Marc Lesihman come away from eight with a birdie.

He's just a stroke off the lead now.

  13. Birdie for Brysonpublished at 22:26 BST 10 April 2021

    DeChambeau +2 (13)

No eagle for Bryson DeChambeau on the par-five 13th. He's super cautious with his 40-foot putt down the hill and it pulls up seven feet short.

But that's a good finish to claw back a shot.

  14. Postpublished at 22:23 BST 10 April 2021

    Spieth -4, Wiesberger -4 (8)

Lovely drive from Jordan Spieth down the ninth fairway, coming to a rest 312 yards from the tee box with 160 still to contend with.

The approach is good too, anchoring down on the back right corner of the green for another mid-range birdie opportunity.

  15. Postpublished at 22:23 BST 10 April 2021

    Matsuyama -5, Schauffele -4 (10)

After regulation stuff from both players on the 10th hole Japan's Hideki Matsuyama looked to be in a spot of bother on the 11th prior to the suspension of play.

However, after slicing his tee shot well right into the trees his first shot back sees him propel an iron shot on to the green.

When he gets there he will find Xander Schauffele waiting for him. Both players have birdie putts coming up.

  16. Bogey for Thomaspublished at 22:22 BST 10 April 2021

    Thomas -4, Finau -3 (9)

After an early charge with birdies at two and three, Justin Thomas slips back to level par for the day - and out of the group tied for second behind Rose - with a bogey on the ninth.

  17. Bogey for Zalatorispublished at 22:20 BST 10 April 2021

    Rose -7, Zalatoris -5 (7)

Not an easy bunker shot, this. The young American doesn't fly it out as much as he'd like, hitting the upslope and seeing the ball trickle back towards him. That leaves a long par putt which he can't convert.

What for Justin Rose? He gives it a good shove up the same slope, just missing to the right but leaving an easy par putt.

  18. Play back under waypublished at 22:17 BST 10 April 2021

    Rose -7, Zalatoris -6 (6)

So where were we? The final pairing - Justin Rose and Will Zalatoris were strolling up to the seventh green when the weather klaxon went off.

Leader Rose is ready to putt for a birdie, while Zalatoris ended up in the bunker on the right of the green.

The klaxon sounds again and that is the cue for the swinging to start...

  19. Postpublished at 22:16 BST 10 April 2021

    Spieth -4, Wiesberger -4 (8)

Jordan Spieth responded to that double bogey at seven with an impressive birdie at eight after finding himself in trouble down the left. He resumes his round three shots off the pace at four under par as he heads to the ninth tee.
