  1. Casey makes blistering startpublished at 17:40 GMT 12 November 2020

    Casey -4 (7*)

Lee Westwood is not the only Englishman off to a great start. Paul Casey has just knocked in a birdie putt on the 16th to join Westwood atop the leaderboard on four under par.

He started on the 10th with a birdie and then safely negotiated Amen Corner, before taking advantage of the par-five holes, picking up birdies on 13 and 15.

Casey has done this many times before, of course. Still, you've got to put yourself in position to give yourself a chance.

    Woods -1, Lowry +2, Ogletree +4 (5*)

Woods' approach sails past the green and his chip lands about within 12 feet of the hole.

    Birdie-ish.

    DeChambeau E, Rahm E, Oosthuizen -2 (8*)

Bryson DeChambeau misses the green left and is forced to bump and run one on towards the pin, he does so with a lovely touch and should be in for an up-and-down par.

John Rahm scoots his long-range birdie putt up alongside the cup and Louis Oosthuizen should start the par party at 17. He does, Rahm pops in and then DeChambeau joins too.

  5. Postpublished at 17:35 GMT 12 November 2020

    Woods -1, Lowry +2, Ogletree +4 (5*)

Andy Ogletree plays a blinder of an iron to the 15th green - eagle chance for the 21-year-old US Amateur champ.

  6. Birdie for Cabrera Bellopublished at 17:33 GMT 12 November 2020

    Cabrera Bello -3 (4)

A good start for Rafael Cabrera Bello.

The 36-year-old Spaniard is not exactly a household name but looks to have the measure of the Augusta National so far with a birdie, par, birdie and birdie in the first four holes.

  7. Postpublished at 17:30 GMT 12 November 2020

    Woods -1, Lowry +2, Ogletree +4 (5*)

Safe drives from the trio of Woods, Ogletree and Lowry, although the Open champion's ball just veers into the lightish rough on the 15th.

  8. Postpublished at 17:26 GMT 12 November 2020

    DeChambeau E, Rahm E, Oosthuizen -2 (8*)

Will that settle Bryson DeChambeau's nerves? He's been hyped up so much in the build-up to this Masters, a kind of buzz that's usually reserved for Tiger.

The US Open champion now has back-to-back birdies and has just steamed another drive down the fairway at the 17th, leaving himself 143 yards short of the pin.

  9. Postpublished at 17:24 GMT 12 November 2020

    Woods -1, Lowry +1, Ogletree +4 (4*)

Woods' must have added extra triple AAAs in his radar-pack because his long putt from far right approaches the hole to about a foot.

Lowry's par putt falls just short. It'll be a dropped shot at the 14th.

  10. Birdie for Brysonpublished at 17:21 GMT 12 November 2020

    DeChambeau E, Rahm E, Oosthuizen -2 (6*)

Louis Oosthuizen is teeing up the birdie chances, this one comes up right to leave him an easy par.

Bryson DeChambeau is coming at it down the slope, starting his attempt way left and watching it wind back right, it's tracking from around 10 feet... that's in! Lovely birdie putt from DeChambeau and he's back level.

Can Jon Rahm follow suit? Not quite, par it is.

  11. Postpublished at 17:20 GMT 12 November 2020

    Woods -1, Lowry +1, Ogletree +4 (4*)

Irishman Shane Lowry just about reaches the 14th green but will find it difficult to two-putt this.

Woods plays percentages with a lofted effort on to the right plateau of the hole. He'll be content with par here, although he also has a long initial putt.

  12. Postpublished at 17:17 GMT 12 November 2020

    DeChambeau +1, Rahm E, Oosthuizen -2 (5*)

DeChambeau cracks open a protein shake. Is that his first of the round? Certainly not his first of the day, he's on about seven every 24 hours...

All three find the green at the par-three 16th.

  13. What a shot!published at 17:16 GMT 12 November 2020

    Westwood -3 (7)

Lee Westwood is a bit loose off the tee on seven - one of the narrowest holes on the course - and finds himself playing his second from directly behind one of the big pines down the left.

But that's a superb recovery, landing an iron on the dance floor, albeit well right.

That leaves him with a 40-footer for birdie. Two putts it is for par.

  14. Birdies all roundpublished at 17:13 GMT 12 November 2020

    DeChambeau +1, Rahm E, Oosthuizen -2 (5*)

Eagle chances all round for the Louis Oosthuizen, Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau triumverate at 15, but none can quite wiggle their way in.

Rahm is first to jab in for a birdie that brings him back to level par, Oosthuizen follows suit from close range to move to two under and DeChambeau taps in for his first of the day, back to one over after that double bogey earlier.

  15. Postpublished at 17:12 GMT 12 November 2020

    Woods -1, Lowry +1, Ogletree +4 (4*)

Tiger Woods isn't entirely happy with his drive from the 440-yard par-four 14th. His ball seems to have found the wood chips. Open champion Shane Lowry's ball looks to be deeper in the forest.

  16. Scheffler enjoys strong startpublished at 17:09 GMT 12 November 2020

    Scheffler -3 (7*)

Scottie Scheffler is part of that young, American entourage coming through who could all be a force for many years to come. He's watched Collin Morikawa win the US PGA Championship and Matthew Wolff finish runner-up at the US Open, but could the Masters be his time to shine?

He's started superbly - three birdies in his opening seven holes puts the 24-year-old into an early share of the lead.

  17. Woods picks up a birdiepublished at 17:08 GMT 12 November 2020

    Woods -1, Lowry +1, Ogletree +4 (4*)

Ogletree makes a bogey on the par-five 13th and Lowry saves par.

As for Woods... he steadies himself and sinks his first birdie.

  18. Postpublished at 17:04 GMT 12 November 2020

    Woods E, Lowry +1, Ogletree +3 (3*)

No eagle but a definite birdie which will get Woods moving up that board.

  20. Eagle chance Woodspublished at 17:04 GMT 12 November 2020

    Woods E, Lowry +1, Ogletree +3 (3*)

Lowry aims left of the flag from the bunker but it barely makes the green. Par is still possible.

Woods has an eagle chance... outside chance obvs because this is a monster.
