I'm no Carol Kirkwood, but it seems like the players may need their cagoules.

He can smack it, can't he?

The mighty US Open champ from California is the favourite for this out-of-season major having brilliantly tamed Winged Foot - like he said he would.

"I’m in a batter’s box swinging as hard as I can, trying to hit a home run," said the 27-year-old, who transformed his body in order to dominate courses from the tee. The experiment is working so far.

Is Augusta Bryson-proof though? He goes out at 12:33 GMT.

It's a 92-man field featuring a star-studded line-up including current champion Tiger Woods, hole-in-one ball skimmer Jon Rahm, world number one Dustin Johnson and four-time major winner Rory McIlroy.

We are about to get under way - seven months late, but it's happening folks. The Green Jacket is being steamed as we speak.
