    DeChambeau -2 Rahm -3, Oosthuizen -4 (F*)

It's not been a stellar day by any stretch for Bryson DeChambeau but frankly when you can hit the ball like he does it solves a lot of problems.

His double-bogey seven on the 13th seems such a long time ago now as the US Open champion finishes his round with a flourish to move two under.

Very solid starts for Spain's Jon Rahm and South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen, who saves par on the last to finish with a very nice 68.

    Johnson, Cantlay, McIlroy

McIlroy is in the bunker on the left of the green on the first. The lie is OK but it's not the ideal start for the Northern Irishman.

    Woods -4 (*15)

    It's another par for Woods.

Two to go and he's still bogey free.

  4. Westwood in the clubhousepublished at 20:11 GMT 12 November 2020

    Westwood -4 (F)

Six straight pars to finish for Lee Westwood. He has held himself together very nicely.

  5. McIlroy & Johnson set offpublished at 20:10 GMT 12 November 2020

    Johnson, Cantlay, McIlroy

World numero uno Dustin Johnson begins his Masters. His drive veers off course on the first and into the chips down the left.

Four-time major winner Rory McIlroy - fourth in 2015 his best display at Augusta - finds the fairway. He has about 160 to the pin.

    DeChambeau -1, Rahm -3, Oosthuizen -4 (17*)

    Talk about power-hitting.

Jon Rahm absolutely belted his tee shot on nine which has travelled some 340 yards.

He's still well-short of Bryson DeChambeau.

  7. Postpublished at 20:07 GMT 12 November 2020

    Simpson -5 (F)

Webb Simpson’s 67 is his lowest opening-round score in a major championship since the 2011 Open Championship (66).

  8. Postpublished at 20:07 GMT 12 November 2020

    DeChambeau -1, Rahm -3, Oosthuizen -4 (17*)

That's some shot from Louis Oosthuizen who played his second from the pine needles before launching a sublime third shot into four feet to make birdie on the eighth.

DeChambeau is also in the red, larruping his drive a good 315 yards and taking a birdie after his putt for eagle lacked direction and pace.

It's as you were for Jon Rahm.

    Woods -4 (*15)

A decent long putt from Woods leaves him five feet for... yet another par. This would be a good par though on the seventh.

Who will win the Masters and why?

Also, we want your tip for the best European performance.

Elliot Newstead: Dustin Johnson will finally land the Green Jacket with Tommy Fleetwood is 2nd place. This opinion is in no way impacted by the fact I have a few shillings on this outcome.

    Woods -4 (*15)

The first slight misjudgement with an approach from Woods as the ball lands right of the seventh pin before the wind and spin takes it further right.

A bit of work to do on this par four.

    Casey -7 (16*)

Want to see a bit more of Paul Casey's round? Course you do. Here's his birdie on the par-three sixth.

  13. Postpublished at 20:01 GMT 12 November 2020

    Casey -7 (16*)

If that second shot into the dance floor kicks on instead of spinning back Paul Casey would be on for yet another birdie.

As it is the runner-up in the US PGA Championship scribbles another par onto his highly-impressive card.

Every day, I'm going to set a quiz question and it's down to you lot to come up with the answers and listen in as I tick off the correct ones.

    Today's is pretty straightforward...

Since 1990, there have been 31 runners-up at Augusta. Name them.

    Westwood -4 (17)

Another solid, steady hole from Lee Westwood.

I wouldn't even call that a birdie chance, a slightly uphill putt from over 30 feet that comes to a halt pin high, but sadly left of the cup as far as that Englishman is concerned.

Birdie putt and guess what? It drifts past the hole again. That's three decent birdie chances for Woods that have gone begging.

But the card remains bogey free.

    Three to play.

    Simpson -5 (F)

    Webb SimpsonImage source, Getty Images

American Webb Simpson has just rolled in for par at the par-four ninth, his final hole to set the clubhouse lead at five under par.

I suspect he may not be there for too long. It's an excellent opening round from the 2012 US Open champion though who hit three birdies and an eagle in a bogey-free round.

  18. Postpublished at 19:44 GMT 12 November 2020

    Woods -4 (*14)

Woods' iron on the 180-yard Juniper digs out some mud as it lands about 15 feet from the hole.

Will he get back on the birdie train?

  19. Westwood avoids being hit by a ballpublished at 19:42 GMT 12 November 2020

    Westwood -4 (16)

Lee Westwood is happily sauntering up to the 16th green when he suddenly comes to a halt. It's to avoid a ball that has come zipping through the back of the 15th green at knee height.

Jason Kokrak is the man who has overcooked his second shot and his ball sploshes into the pond.

The consummate pro that he is, Westy double checks the line the ball went into the hazard and puts a tee peg in the ground to help Kokrak when he comes to make his drop.

Westwood continues up to the green, makes a two-putt par from 10 feet to stay four under with two to play.

  20. Postpublished at 19:42 GMT 12 November 2020

    Woods -4 (*14)

Another par for Woods. He's four under with four to play.

When will it be moving day for the champion?
