  1. Woodland takes share of leadpublished at 20:18 BST 11 August 2018

    B Koepka -10, G Woodland -10, K Kisner -8 (3)

That didn't last long... Gary Woodland dusts himself down after a bogey at the second to retake a share of the lead a hole later.

Decent tee shot, red-hot putter. He rolls in to move back to 10 under par.

Brooks Koepka leaves himself a long shot at birdie from the fringes, but will have to stroll over and prod that in.

  2. Postpublished at 20:18 BST 11 August 2018

    R McIlroy -1 (9)

Rory McIlroy has not won a major since the 2014 PGA Championship and it doesn't look like he'll end that barren run here at Bellerive.

The Northern Irishman started the day at three under after a 67 yesterday, but is going backwards today. Three bogeys on the front nine, slightly improved by a birdie on the second, leaves him way down the pack.

  3. Birdie for Rosepublished at 20:11 BST 11 August 2018

    Rose -6 (6)

A pair of birdies get Justin Rose moving north. The Englishman had not even played a practice round at Bellerive this week before stepping on to the first tee on Thursday. Hasn't hindered him so far. Neither has his slight back injury. Rose is two under for the day and four shots back.

  4. Birdie for Schwartzelpublished at 20:10 BST 11 August 2018

    R Fowler -8, D Johnson -7, C Schwartzel -7 (3)

Pars all the way for Dustin Johnson so far, the world number one is yet to make a move on the leaders. Charl Schwartzel recovers from that bogey at the first by tickling in a birdie at the par-three third. Rickie Fowler remains at eight under.

  5. Koepka takes the leadpublished at 20:08 BST 11 August 2018

    B Koepka -10, G Woodland -9, K Kisner -8 (2)

A lot of work to do for Kevin Kisner, crisscrossing the second hole and chipping way beyond the pin with his third stroke. He rolls a par putt from the fringes wide of the cup, and has to settle for a bogey - as does leader Gary Woodland.

Brooks Koepka could take top spot here.... and does! That putter's firing. A birdie-birdie start as the US Open champion moves to 10 under par.

  6. Birdie for Woodspublished at 20:08 BST 11 August 2018

    T Woods -7 (7)

No danger. Tiger Woods rolls in his birdie putt to move seven under - that's two shots off the lead. Those whoops and hollers are getting louder by the shot.

  7. Birdie for Spiethpublished at 20:07 BST 11 August 2018

    J Spieth -5 (7)

Jordan Spieth has not been enjoying a great year by his sky-high standards, but is following a bogey-free 66 yesterday with a decent start today. The American confidently converts a nine-foot putt for birdie on the seventh... right down the middle.

  8. Postpublished at 20:05 BST 11 August 2018

    G Woodland -10, K Kisner -9, B Koepka -9 (1)

Fourth shot for the leader, from the drop zone, and he almost holes out! Magnificent. Gary Woodland is set to drop a shot at the second, but it was almost a fantastic par-save after sticking his approach in the water.

  9. Woodland in the waterpublished at 20:01 BST 11 August 2018

    G Woodland -10, K Kisner -9, B Koepka -9 (1)

Kevin Kisner is ankle-deep in the rough guarding the second fairway, water in play up ahead and a tricky lie for the American - he cracks it beyond the creek, but it kicks on beyond the flag too.

Talking about water... Gary Woodland, having just avoided the creek with his tee shot, sticks his approach straight into the drink! Could be all change at the top...

  10. Postpublished at 20:00 BST 11 August 2018

    T Woods -6 (6)

Tiger is in the mood here. The 14-time major winner leathers his drive down the middle on the par-four seventh, then clips his approach to within seven feet. Another birdie putt awaits...

    D Johnson -7 (1)

Dustin Johnson has a birdie putt on the second... nope. Asking too much even for the world number one.

  12. Birdie for Koepkapublished at 19:54 BST 11 August 2018

    G Woodland -10, K Kisner -9, B Koepka -9 (1)

Kevin Kisner could steal a share of the lead here... putting up the slope, level with the flag, he tickles it cup-bound only to see it break early and stay up. Par.

Gary Woodland's scenic route to the first pin ends with a confident close-range par putt to keep him in the outright lead.

No problem for Brooks. He nails that birdie putt after a sensational approach to join Kisner at nine under.

  13. Birdie for Woodspublished at 19:52 BST 11 August 2018

    T Woods -6 (6)

Back to Tiger... a couple of practice putts, lines it up... ball disappears down the drain quicker than a street rat.

A raucous roar reverberates around the course. He's back to six under after that mishap on the fifth.

  14. Thomas on the climbpublished at 19:50 BST 11 August 2018

    J Thomas -8 (3)

Justin Thomas is cooking. He putts out from eight or so feet to make it two birdies in his opening three holes. The world number two is doing his best to muscle in on the leaders.

He climbs to eight under, two off the lead.

  15. Postpublished at 19:49 BST 11 August 2018

    T Woods -5 (5)

How can Tiger respond on the sixth after that bogey on the fifth? Like Tiger can. Woods rips into his tee shot, going straight for the pin on the 213-yard par three. Eleven feet between ball, hole and a birdie.

  16. Birdie chance for Koepkapublished at 19:48 BST 11 August 2018

    G Woodland -10, K Kisner -9, B Koepka -8

Thwack. Brooks Koepka signals his intent early doors with a mammoth drive down the first. Just the 100 yards to go... and he fizzes an approach in that screeches to a halt within a putter's length of the flag.

Should be a tap-in birdie for the US Open champion there.

Leader Gary Woodland trickles into the light rough, punching his approach up towards the front of the green.

  17. Bogey for Schwartzelpublished at 19:45 BST 11 August 2018

    R Fowler -8, D Johnson -7, C Schwartzel -6 (1)

DJ can't drown his birdie putt from 12 feet or so on the first and he stays at seven under par, while Rickie Fowler follows up with a four of his own to stay two off the lead.

But it's a bad start for playing partner Charl Schwartzel.

The South African found the rough off the tee, and can only get down for five and an opening bogey.

Defending champion Justin Thomas on three... a sweet swoosh of a short iron guides his ball over the ball-hungry lake and onto the dancefloor. He's on the top deck too. Birdie chance on its way...

Brooks Koepka carded an impressive 63 yesterday, but was agonisingly close to seeing his birdie putt drop from 20 feet on the last for what would have been a record-setting 62.

"I just was trying to make the thing and I really thought I made it," said the US Open champion.

"I didn't even think of it. I've been so in the zone you don't know where you are or where you're at."

He's out alongside leader Gary Woodland and fellow American Kevin Kisner this afternoon.
