    M Wallace -5 (16)

Matt Wallace is grinning like his numbers have just come up on the Euromillions. Well, he has won the golfing lottery. A hole in one at a major is almost as good as it gets.

The galleries give him a rapturous reception as he bounds from tee to green, desperate to pluck that ball out of the cup. The volume goes up as he sticks his hand in to retrieve it - and then lobs it into the crowd.

"That'll be on ebay in the morning," quips Karen Stupples on BBC Radio 5 live Sports Extra.

Wallace puts his hand in the air like he's just won the World Cup. It might be an expensive bar bill but he won't mind that a jot.

  3. Hole in one!published at 22:23 BST 11 August 2018

    M Wallace -5 (16)

No! It's the 16th... because England's Matt Wallace has just aced the 237-yard par three! Sensational stuff.

A long iron hits the front fringe... a short hop.. a roll... and the ball disappears. What a moment for the 28-year-old from Hillingdon.

  4. Postpublished at 22:21 BST 11 August 2018

As Kisner splashes out of the sand on the 10th, a head-turning roar diverts his attention from somewhere nearby. The 15th perhaps?

  5. Woodland in troublepublished at 22:21 BST 11 August 2018

    B Koepka -13, G Woodland -10, K Kisner -9 (9)

Gary Woodland currently rolling like my other half on holiday - roaming from one beach to another. And then back again... unbelievable. Just pick a spot.

The American stuck his approach in the sand, chipped straight across the green into a bunker lurking on the opposite side and then proceeded to whack it back across the putting surface into the bunker he started in - his caddie didn't even have time to rake his footprints.

  6. Woodland in the sandpublished at 22:15 BST 11 August 2018

    B Koepka -13, G Woodland -10, K Kisner -9 (9)

Things are getting ever trickier for Gary Woodland, who misjudges his approach to the 10th and watches it sneak away an anchor down in a greenside bunker.

  7. Postpublished at 22:14 BST 11 August 2018

    T Woods -8 (14)

Whoosh! Tiger Woods nearly knocks the paint off his ball with a firework of a drive on the par-four 15th. As straight and explosive as a skyrocket.

  8. Bogey for Fowlerpublished at 22:12 BST 11 August 2018

    R Fowler -9 (10)

Uh oh, first blemish on the card of Rickie Fowler today. The American thinks he's nailed a par-saving putt at 10, but it fails to break and saunters on by.

Bogey for Fowler, who drops back to nine under par and four shots off the lead.

Former Women’s British Open champion on BBC Radio 5 live

Woods knows Brooks Koepka is moving away from him and everything he is doing at the moment is just treading water

  10. Postpublished at 22:10 BST 11 August 2018

    T Woods -8 (14)

Tiger's putter is not finding its target as easy as it was on the front nine. Then he holed everything, now he's holing nothing. A birdie putt slips by the left edge of the hole, the 14-time major winner swinging his putter in frustration.

    B Koepka -13, G Woodland -10, K Kisner -9 (9)

Starting to get the feeling Brooks Koepka could run away with this... he's not dropped a shot since the sixth hole on day one. No doubt I've just put the live text commentator's curse on him though, so thank me later Fowler, Woods, Woodland and co.

Another whipping drive down the 10th from the US Open champion. And on he marches...

  13. Postpublished at 22:05 BST 11 August 2018

    T Woods -8 (13)

Tiger's charge has stalled a little since the turn, but at least he hasn't thrown in a double bogey on the 11th like he did in his final round at Carnoustie.

Par-par-par-par leaves the 42-year-old well in the mixer. Now he has a birdie putt on the 14th...

  14. Postpublished at 22:01 BST 11 August 2018

    E Pepperell -4 (17), I Poulter -4 (15)

A shot behind Rose are fellow Englishman Eddie Pepperell and Ian Poulter.

Pepperell appears to have resisted the urge to hit the bar after last night's rain delay... resuming today to card a four-under 66 in his second round and now two under in his third.

Poults is desperate to get his hands on a Ryder Cup shirt and needs a decent finish here to boost his chances of an automatic pick. He's one under with three holes left for the day.

  15. Koepka takes three-shot leadpublished at 22:00 BST 11 August 2018

    B Koepka -13, G Woodland -10, K Kisner -9 (9)

Brooks Koepka steams a tee shot down the right-hand side of the ninth fairway to give himself a tidy look at the pin 123 yards in the distance. The back-to-back US Open champion coaxes it up to within 12 feet of the cup, and then fires it in for a birdie!

Now Gary Woodland is struggling... tough putt to save par after duffing his chip on to the fringes of the green. He leaves it short, dropping back to 10 under, and Koepka establishes a three-shot lead.

  16. Postpublished at 21:57 BST 11 August 2018

    J Rose -5 (12)

"Where are the all British players?" we hear you cry. Well down the leaderboard.

Justin Rose is the highest place home hope, seven shots off the lead at five under in tied 20th. Three pars get his journey back to the clubhouse off to a steady start.

  17. Bogey for Perezpublished at 21:53 BST 11 August 2018

    P Perez -7 (11)

While we wait to see if Thomas lands that putt, Pat Perez does drop out of that group on eight under. He bogeys the 10th and presumably chunters some words that you wouldn't want kids to hear as he stomps off to the 11th tee.

  18. Postpublished at 21:51 BST 11 August 2018

    A Scott -9 (10)

Adam Scott's progress has just slowed a touch either side of the turn - back-to-back pars for the Australian, that's only happened once before in his round today on a card that's littered with birdies.

He's four under for the day, nine under for the tournament.

  19. Postpublished at 21:50 BST 11 August 2018

    J Thomas -8 (9)

Justin Thomas might be about to drop out of that group on eight under... unless he produces something special from just in front of a grandstand way left on the 10th.

The defending champion is stood on a patchy bit of grass a few feet in front of the galleries, with a tree blocking his view of the green.

No problem. He bends it around the obstacle and lands his ball 10 feet from the pin...
