This is a huge wicket, it was a good decision to bring the spinner on. England are just coming back into it a little bit with a couple of quick wickets.
Pujara lbw Leach 0 (Ind 34-2)
Hello! England have two wickets in the space of six balls and suddenly things are look at least a little different.
India's plodder-in-chief Cheteshwar Pujara falls for a duck, hit on the front pad by a ball that skids on.
It's not a fightback but it's something.

This India side bat deep. You could have Ashwin, who got a century in the last Test, in at number nine.

This is just what England needed, a bit of enthusiasm and something to get them going. They'll be delighted with this breakthrough.
Gill c Crawley b Archer 11 (Ind 33-1)
Where has that come from? Shubman Gill with a shot as bad as anything we saw from England. He tries to pull a bouncer from Jofra Archer and only skies the ball into the air. Zak Crawley takes an easy catch.
A rubbish, rubbish shot. A much-needed breakthrough for England.

There was a bit of spin and encouragement there for Leach. He's got to go out there, hit a good line, good length and get some fizz on the ball. That's all he has to do but it's difficult because he's seen what Axar and Ashwin have done and that will add pressure on him.
A stinker for England and the perfect day for India. It seems like a party at the colosseum without the gory death, unless you include England's hopes in that. This humongous stadium is amazing.

This is shaping up to be a real stinker for England.

Can someone ask the batsmen their views on the dinner/lunch debate? Anything to break their concentration.

Jack Leach is coming on.

A couple of beautiful shots from Rohit Sharma. Class shots.
Eeeek. A change of bowler but no change of fortunes for England. Archer bangs it in short at decent pace to Rohit but with a swish of the bat the ball is sent away on the pull. Rohit follows that with a back-foot punch.
Two boundaries for Rohit and a few more problems for Joe Root.

India are going along nicely - they're starting to put their foot on the gas a little bit. Leach will have to come into the equation soon.
Things are looking ominous for England at the moment.
One of the England players seems to have licked their fingers before shining the ball. It is currently being sanitised by the umpires. If one of those science teachers who got in touch earlier could explain what that means for swing it'd be much appreciated.
Here's Jofra...

That still doesn't mean dinner is an evening meal though. That was my original issue.
Anderson and Broad aren't really causing any problems. There's not a lot of swing. The longer this goes on the more England's selection looks to be the wrong one.

Luncheon. From Anglo Saxon Nuncheon - the "Nun" being "noon". Case closed.

The lights have gone off again. All this money on a new stadium and it still takes someone to put 50p in the meter.

All this chat about lunch, dinner, supper and tea in the midst of another cricket disaster really is so English.

Ricky, is that you?! Shubman Gill whacks Anderson to the boundary with a front-foot pull.
I mean Ponting, obviously, rather than Tomlinson. I have no idea what Ricky Tomlinson's pull shot is like.
