  1. Eng 103-4published at 20 overs

    Bairstow 58, Billings 6

Once again the final ball of the over goes to the boundary. Justin Langer will be kicking bins in the Old Trafford changing room soon if Australia can't get out of overs successfully.

It's a confident shot from Sam Billings, though. He was superb in the first ODI and shared 113 with Jonny Bairstow then. England need them to do the same here.

Australia are going for the jugular by bringing back Mitchell Starc.

  3. Postpublished at 14:32 BST 16 September 2020

Australia look keen to learn from their mistakes in the second ODI and want to run through England here as they bring Mitchell Starc back into the attack.

A reminder Chris Woakes is in next for England before it's the bowlers.

You know it's a bad review when within half a second of Aaron Finch making the T-sign, the fielders had all gone back to their original positions and Mitchell Starc was loosening up.

    What an incredible review!

  7. Not outpublished at 19 overs

That is bad from Australia. Not quite England levels but bad.

It's a thick inside edge from Jonny Bairstow, but his bat does at least hit the inside of the pad so we'll give Australia a tiny, tiny bit of leeway.

Aaron Finch didn't want to review it so why did he?

Zampa was very confident. There's definitely bat involved but the Australians think it was pad first.

  10. Australia reviewpublished at 19 overs

Hmmm. Australia think they've got Jonny Bairstow out lbw but he's hit this surely?

This is like deja vu from in the T20 series when England reviewed one that hit the middle the bat.

I'm amazed by that - Aaron Finch had just moved himself to that position. It's been tossed up by Adam Zampa and I'm not sure what Buttler was trying to do there.

    Excellent bowling and captaincy.

Sometimes your strength can also be your weakness and that is the case with Jos Buttler's cover drive. He often picks up runs with the shot, but he is culpable of driving aerially at times and that's his downfall once again.

It's excellent from Aaron Finch, the Australia captain, as he positions himself quite narrow, not that far from mid-off, and takes a good diving catch.

    England are in trouble again.

Stoinis is has got the short boundary gig for Australia and England will probably go with Bairstow or Billings there. I'd like to see the GPS numbers at the end of the day because Stoinis has already done some galloping down there.

  14. Eng 96-3published at 18 overs

Once again England pick up a boundary off the last ball of the over to turn an over in their favour. That's happened three or four times today, which will infuriate Aaron Finch.

This one is slightly fortuitous admittedly as Jonny Bairstow mistimes a pull shot and it glances off the grille and away for four.

  17. Eng 90-3published at 17 overs

At what point are Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler going to get fed up of milking Adam Zampa? The short boundary is on their leg side and would be an easy hit for players of Bairstow's and Buttler's quality.

Zampa is bowling a good line and length, though. He's not allowing the batters a chance of plonking him over the leg-side fence at the moment.

Well played, Jonny Bairstow! It's a poor ball from Pat Cummins, down the leg side, but Bairstow just helps it on it's way to move to his 23rd ODI score of 50+.

England need him to keep going here.
