Chips and gravy are clearly ace, but they're only a stand-in for when you're at a chippy that doesn't do salt and pepper chips.

This seems quite a long time ago now, doesn't it?

Chips, chicken and mushroom pie, curry sauce. And in my local chippy, they ask how mushy you like your peas.

Chris Woakes: great innings, even greater beard.

The Pat Cummins off-spinner that dismissed Jonny Bairstow is a real positive for England. That's not out of footholes, it was just off the middle of the pitch.
I wouldn't be surprised if they go to cross-seam quite early, get it reversing and the ball softer.

Natalie Lewis: With that start I don’t think many of us imagined a score over 300. A very good recovery & pleased for woakes getting a 50, he is so rarely praised during coverage than other players then the same commentators mention that he’s underrated. Either way he’s just great

It was a great start for Australia but England have fought back well. When Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan were rebuilding it looked like 300 would be easily achievable score but as the innings went on it did get a bit slower.
The hundred from Jonny Bairstow and the partnership with Sam Billings was fantastic. It was a nice cameo from Chris Woakes too.

That will hurt Australia and I think England will be absolutely delighted. The pitch has got a bit drier and it's just starting to stay in the pitch for the slower balls and Adil Rashid will turn it.
I think England have got themselves into a very, very good position.

That's quite some recovery after being 0-2.
England take 14 off the final over. To get 302-7 on this pitch is good score, to do it after being 0-2 after two balls is a brilliant effort.
50 from 38 balls for Woakes. 300 for England. This will take some getting.
Woakes slides a full toss behind point for four. He has 49...
Excellent work from Labuschagne on the cover boundary denies Woakes a four.

It's Mitchell Starc's joint fourth most expensive figures in ODI cricket. It's only the second time he's been hit for four sixes in one innings too.
Unbelievable from Chris Woakes! The reverse scoop. Thinking of going leg side, only to deflect it to the third man boundary. Incredible stroke.
Phil Tufnell
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
Once again, this England side, considering they were 0-2, they just haven't panicked. I've played in a few sides where that would have been it all done.
Stay there, Adil. Trying to pinch some ground, Rashid is backing up too far, so Starc pulls out of his delivery stride and tells him to stay put. One to come. Starc ends with 3-74. Pricey.

It's a terrific shot, he stepped outside off stump and just swept it away. Wonderful shot!
Mitchell Starc will be cross about the length.
Shot!
Adil Rashid has walked across his stumps and picked up Mitchell Starc for a maximum.
He's number nine! That's like Viv Richards!
