England's Zoe Smith, who won weightlifting silver yesterday, has been speaking to BBC Radio 5 live: "To be honest, any kind of medal was a real buzz.

"Anything more than getting on the platform was a bonus. It has been a rough couple of years really and I have been suffering with a back injury recently.

"I had a disc flare-up before we left the UK and I haven't trained in three weeks, so I went into the completion blind.

"I think the stars just aligned and I just went hell for leather. Losing funding in 2016 turned my life around so it's more like a hobby now rather than just my life."
