    Pyro

Liberal use of pyro from the Carrara Stadium as they mark the end of each women's 100m semi-final with a blast of the burners.

It has just started the drizzling as well.

Staying close to the flame-throwers for warmth is a sensible option right?

    Men's hammer

Scotland's Mark Dry, who won men's hammer bronze, speaking to BBC Sport: "I don't know what just happened. I barely remember any of it. This journey has been unbelievable.

"I've had two hip reconstructions. I've not thrown within two metres of that since surgery, I've not been anywhere near it.

"I know I can compete - I know I was in bad shape coming in, but I knew I could put that down.

"This was going to be the hardest competition of my life, more than the Olympics, more than the world championships."

    Patrick Kam

You either love these moments or hate them.

As Uganda's Joshua Cheptegei crosses for gold in the 5000m, Solomon Islands' Patrick Kam still has just under two laps to go.

He is miles adrift of the rest of the field and as the crowd clock that he is still trudging round, they afford him a standing ovation on his final circuit.

He eventually crossed two minutes and eighteen seconds after the winner.

Some would say it is patronising. I guess it is all in the eye of the backmarker and Kam - one of only 14 competitors from the Solomon Islands - looks glad of the support.

    Women's team bronze-medal match

It's exciting stuff over at the Oxenford Studios in a marathon second game between Kelly Sibley and Australia's Jian Fang Lay.

Kelly's England team-mates are cheering every point as she goes 9-5 up, only for the Australian to fight back.

Lay received a yellow card for time-wasting before saving five game points en route to winning 21-19. That makes it 1-1 in the second rubber.
