Wales’ Laura Daniels hopes to stop New Zealand’s Jo Edwards from winning a third Commonwealth gold by claiming her first.
Daniels, 32, is currently 4-3 up against 48-year-old Edwards.
Her father is sat among a group of Kiwi fans in the stand who turn to ask him: "Is your daughter aggressive?"
"She can be when she wants to," he replies.

Men's 100m semi-final
England's Adam Gemili is through to the 100m final, and here's how he did it...
Men's points race qualifying
We've had a crash in the cycling! Northern Ireland's Mark Downey is down and his bike loses its front wheel.
Downey is up though, albeit with a torn suit and bleeding thigh, but he's legging it to his spare bike. He's back on the track and desperately trying to get back up to speed.
Wales 4-3 New Zealand
The pounding techno they're playing over the bowls feels oddly fitting.
After five ends, it's Wales' Laura Daniels who is up 4-3 on New Zealand's Jo Edwards.

Image source, .As the sun goes down, the beach volleyball arena gets more lively.
We have just had Vanuatu against Rwanda on court and Vanuatu’s Miller Pata plays her part in winning a third pool game to secure a last-eight spot. She became a mum for the second time at the back end of last year and despite admitting getting fit was a struggle, she’s made it and even paraded her country’s flag at the opening ceremony. I should add, seven-month old baby Tommy is in the crowd.
Later we have England’s men and Scotland’s women in action as they look to seal progress through their respective pools and into the knockout stages.
Oh, and we also now have a cuddle camera between points. The love is pouring in like waves from the ocean.

There's currently track cycling, athletics, badminton and more in action - take your pick over here.
Men's 100m semi-final
The last semi-final is won by Kemar Hyman of the Cayman Islands after leading almost from start to finish of the race and he crosses the line in 10.10 ahead of South African Akani Simbine who is home in 10.12.
It's bad news for England's Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, though, as he clocks a time of 10.27 to just miss out on a fastest loser place.
Men's points race qualifying
With less than 40 laps to go in this first heat of the men's qualifying, Wales' Jon Mould has just won the second sprint.
He's currently joint second with England's Chris Latham. So far, so good for the home nations.

The weather, a bit like the wildlife, doesn't mess around in Queensland.
A cloud the size of the Death Star has just hoovered into view. And it looks set on dumping its payload over the Carrara Stadium.
Time to rummage for the pac-a-mac.
Women's singles gold medal match
Over on the lawn bowls - very much the curling of the Commonwealth Games - Wales' Laura Daniels is playing New Zealand's Jo Edwards for the gold medal.
Quick run-down: there's four bowls per end and the first player to 21 points is the winner.
Mixed team semi-finals
Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis have work to do. They currently trail Malaysia's Goh and Tan after losing the first game 21-9.
The Olympic bronze medallists have never beaten their opponents - their last meeting came at last month's All England Championships where they lost in three games.

We’ve had a little bit of history made here at the Anna Meares Velodrome with Emily Rosemond becoming the first woman to ride the little electric bike/motorbike called a derny in the keirin at any international competition.
She paces the cyclists and winds the speed up before they race to the finish.
Rosemond is a former short track speed skater who switched to cycling and competed in the Delhi Commonwealth Games in 2008.
Men's pommel horse final
Max Whitlock is GB’s most successful gymnast in history but has lost major finals before and will do again in the future - that’s sport.
However, the results today - sixth on the floor and silver in the pommel horse - are major shocks for the man who was expected to ease to victory in both events.
“This is maybe the push that I needed to give me a lot more fire to go forward and make sure it won’t happen again,” Whitlock tells me.
“I took this competition very seriously and thought I could (win golds) but that’s sport and the bigger picture is Tokyo 2020.”

Yohan Blake was always likely to win that heat.
Adam Gemili was a yard down half way through but he didn't panic
Gemili is getting better with every race but it's a concern he's holding his groin as he comes off and walks through the mixed zone. He grimaced as he crossed the line.
Hopefully it's nothing serious.
A fit Gemili has a big chance of getting among the medals.

England's Kelly Sibley twice led in the second rubber but Australia's Jian Fang Lay fought back, winning the last game 11-7 to claim a 3-2 victory and make it 1-1 overall.
Kelly looks gutted as her head slumps down and she puts her hands on her hips.
But she has an immediate opportunity to put it behind her as she's now playing in the doubles with Maria Tsaptsinos, with Lay and Miao Miao up for Australia.

Georgia-Mae Fenton - remember the name!
The Commonwealth Games helped propel the likes of Max Whitlock and Claudia Fragapane into public consciousness four years ago at Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018 could do the same for Fenton.
She’s just 17 and in a women’s team deprived of the Downie sisters, Olympic bronze medallist Amy Tinkler and Fragapane through injury - she has risen to the occasion.

Men's 100m semi-final
England's Adam Gemili has reached the final of the men's 100m after finishing runner-up to Yohan Blake in the first semi-final.
The 24-year-old did not get the best start but crossed the line in 10.11 seconds in second place after a strong finish.
Jamaican Blake, who is the favourite for the gold medal, eased into the final and came home in a time of 10.06.

What to do when you're taking a break from training and competition at the Commonwealth Games? Cuddle puppies!
Organisers have brought some gorgeous rescue pups into the athletes' village, and here's a snap of badminton players Lauren Smith and Marcus Ellis taking full advantage of the opportunity.
Personally I think this should be compulsory in all workplaces...
