After Scotland's 3x3 men took bronze, the wheelchair women took silver following defeat by England.

*Those who count these thing tell me athletics and swimming relays, plus pairs bowls and doubles tennis and squash, don't count - it has to be a sport where you can't compete individually. The things you learn...

    Men’s 1500m freestyle final

This is becoming a fairly clear gold, silver and bronze, barring any late drama.

Unless Sam Short runs out of steam, the gold medal looks to be in the bag, with a comfortable lead of 3.24 seconds to Wiffen after 1200m.

Wiffen is still going along nicely in second, though, and is 3.09 seconds clear of Goedemans, who looks nailed on for bronze.

    Can he maintain it?

England's Madias Ngake had to settle for a silver medal in the women's 86kg weightlifting final in Glasgow.

The Cameroon-born athlete who was making her Commonwealth Games debut for her adopted country told TNT Sports: "I really enjoyed myself, it wasn't my best performance but I'm okay with that.

"I was looking for a gold medal, maybe a 134 or 135 (kg in the clean and jerk).

"This ranks second behind my Olympic bronze medal."

Kate O'Connor is the Commonwealth Games champion - and Northern Ireland have their first gold in Glasgow!

O'Connor does it in style, timing it perfectly to sprint through for the win.

    It's silver for England's Jade O'Dowda.

Australia's Tori West clings onto bronze despite a brave effort from England's Ellen Barber giving her all to try and make up the six seconds that would have got her on the podium.

Right then, it's time for the heptathlon and, realistically, if Kate O'Connor gets round safely in the 800m, she will win gold.

England's Jade O'Dowda needs to beat her by about 18 seconds to snatch gold from her and - barring a fall - that is not going to happen.

    Off they go!

England's men have retained their 3x3 basketball title with a 19-17 win over Australia.

It was a repeat of the 2022 final in Birmingham with England again claiming the gold medal, with Scotland taking bronze.

England also secured a gold medal in the women's wheelchair 3x3 with an 18-10 win over Scotland. Success for the England side came after they were bronze medal winners four years ago.

In the men's wheelchair final England took the silver medal after a 19-13 defeat by Australia, with Scotland losing out to Canada in the bronze medal match.

There was another gold for Australia in the women's final, that was the final 3x3 event of the Games as they got the better of Uganda with a convincing 21-11 victory.

    Men's long jump final

    So close!

Stephen Mackenzie shakes his head immediately after getting out of the sandpit but it's a fair jump and he comes up just 3cm short of the silver medal!

A jump of 8.06cm is not even his best jump, he went 8.08cm with his first and that put him a centimetre behind Murali Sreeshankar.

The Indian can't improve on that so Jamaica's Tajay Gayle has won gold even before his final jump... and he can't improve on his best of 8.15m.

Silver medal - Keanna Macinnes (Scotland)published at 20:49 BST 29 July

    Women’s 200m butterfly final

Oh, it is so agonisingly close to the gold medal for Scotland's Keanna Macinnes!

The 24-year-old was neck and neck the whole way with Brittany Castelluzzo but finishes just 0.20 seconds behind the Australian.

Castelluzzo's team-mate Lizzy Dekkers takes the bronze.

But an excellent effort by Macinnes who picks up another silver to go with her 100m butterfly two days ago.
