“Show us the bling” as silver medallist Funmi Oduwaiye put it, as she and Team Wales team-mate Bree Cronin celebrate their first Commonwealth Games medals with Cronin winning the bronze.

Both para-athletes were draped with Y Ddraig Goch - the red dragon - flag over their shoulders, and both with huge smiles. Naturally.

And both just as delighted for each other’s success this evening as they were for themselves - delighted to have achieved it together.

Not to be for Daniel Pitt.

The man from Brecon had it all to do in the third round after Australian Paul Trainor won the opening tight rounds but he can’t find a stoppage.

He tells me he’s gutted but is now looking forward to supporting his four teammates as they bid to upgrade their medals on Friday.

He also waited around long after our interview to make sure he could congratulate his opponent.
