Contrasting rounds for these two major winners, who have just finished for the day.

JJ Spaun is pleading with his ball to drop for birdie at 18, but it just stays up and he taps in for par and a well-made 67.

Adam Scott was seven over through 13 holes today, but made two birdies coming in to give his card a slightly better look.

Played in Turkey in March ‘for the weather’ - rained every round but the final round was that bad that of the 10 players only 6 finished. 2 went back at the second tee, 2 quit at nine holes. No windscreens on the buggies - I got so wet I remember thinking why am I bothering to use the on course loo!

I played Waterville once in a force 8 gale when a storm was coming in. Trolley blowing over. Hit 400y downwind on the ninth and 105y into on 10th!

In the fan village just past the main gate, there's a plethora of activities for all ages to have a crack at.

The 'long putt challenge' is a scaled-down version of the 18th hole, and punters can have a go with a putter, trying to drop the ball in the hole from quite a distance away.

I didn't see anyone succeed yet, unfortunately.

    Fan village

Once you've tried your long putt, you can have a go at chipping a ball at the 'lighthouse landing'.

As you can see from the picture, a few fans had managed to find dry land with the ball while taking cover from the elements.

The food and drinks tents were rammed too, with quite a few people opting for an ice cream despite being wrapped up in their waterproofs.

    Fleetwood -4 (7)

Tommy Fleetwood has a good look at eagle on the seventh after hitting his approach to the front right edge of the green.

He knocks it close but has to settle for a respectable birdie. It’s greeted well by the five-deep crowd… which includes former Scotland midfielder and current Aberdeen player Stuart Armstrong.

Two enviable heads of hair on show here.

    McKibbin -6 (9)

Tom McKibbin hits the turn in just 31 blows.

The Northern Irishman has picked up four birdies and is yet to drop a shot. Can he keep climbing up the board?

With the fog delay earlier, it got us thinking about the worst conditions we've played in.

I remember one trip to Arran where I was wet through and couldn't feel my hands and feet after a round at Shiskine. Still a wonderful place to play, mind.

Feel free to send us your grim weather experiences and where they were.

    Schmid -6 (8)

Matti Schmid's charge stalls with a bogey on the eighth.

The German was on an impressive run with four birdies in his opening seven holes.

He drops back to six under, three off the lead.

Of the seven LIV Golf players who teed it up at the start of the tournament, five are still standing.

Jon Rahm made the cut by the skin of his teeth yesterday thanks to a fine 65 and is joined by English pair Tyrrell Hatton and Laurie Canter plus Northern Irishman Tom McKibbin and Victor Perez of France.

Perez is the highest placed so far at seven under, two off the lead. He gets under way at 17:31 alongside defending champion Chris Gotterup.

I had Glastonbury flashbacks on the way through the fan village earlier as the grass began to churn into mud.

Footfall there is much more sparse now as spectators spread out over the course and make up for lost viewing time.

    Scott +4, Spaun -5 (14)

A wry smile from Adam Scott as he claims his first birdie of the day on 14.

It's been a round to forget for the Australian so far, who has carded a double and five bogeys.

At four over, he is currently tied last of those who made the cut.

Scott's playing partner JJ Spaun is faring better. He also makes birdie on 14 to rise to five under.

  14. Who isn't here for the weekend?published at 15:24 BST 11 July

Quite a few big names fell by the wayside yesterday.

Chief among them was world number one Scottie Scheffler, whose run of 78 successive cuts made ended.

Notable others who are not here for this weekend include:

    Shane Lowry

    Aaron Rai

    Ludvig Aberg

    Patrick Cantlay

    Brooks Koepka

    Xander Schauffele

Viktor Hovland's birdie putt just misses the cup, but he tidies up for a routine par.

Eugenio Chacarra knocks in for birdie.

Some headgear has been handed out to fans in the crowd… Viking hats.

Wherever Hovland goes today will be a mini Oslo, a home away from home.

A great way to get the atmosphere started again after our lengthy delay.

  16. Lengthy delay far from idealpublished at 15:16 BST 11 July

    Brian McLauchlin

When the horn was sounded at 10:45 BST to halt play, it gave the organisers a headache they could have done without.

Safety is paramount in golf and, with spectators and players unable to see where balls were flying, it was no surprise that play was suspended.

As play had already begun, with groups out on the course, the option of using a two-tee start and potentially switching to three-ball groups had already gone.

Continuing into Monday is always an option, but on this occasion it appears highly unlikely, with the leading players all due to head to Birkdale for their final preparations before The Open, which starts on Thursday.

All in all, the situation is far from ideal. While there is no panic yet over how or when the tournament will be completed, every option will be explored over the coming hours.

  17. Hovland a popular figurepublished at 15:13 BST 11 July

    Hovland -2 (14)

The grandstand-lined sixth hole has been given a special task as Eugenio Chacarra and Norway's Viktor Hovland arrive to the tee.

The crowd has been instructed on how to perform 'the row', the now famous fan celebration that Norway supporters have popularised at the World Cup.

Hovland sticks his approach close, much to the crowd's delight.

As he approaches the green there is a mix of the row and "No Norway, No Party" being belted out.

Anyone know who Norway play tonight?

  18. From haar to parspublished at 15:09 BST 11 July

Just as we hit 10:45 BST this morning, confirmation came through that play had been suspended until further notice due to thick fog.

The forecast suggested light drizzle and cloud - after two days of glorious sunshine - but more fool the person who tries to predict the Scottish weather.

From the media tent, you can usually catch a glimpse of the 10th fairway, but it was a wall of haar earlier.

For those wondering, haar is a sea fog common in this part of the world.

Thankfully, it has cleared now and it's all eyes on the action.

Rory McIlroy followed up his strong opening round to keep his share of the lead, while home favourite Bob MacIntyre remains in contention, just two off the top at seven under.

Several big names missed the cut, including world number one Scottie Scheffler for the first time in 1,428 days.

Hello from grey and foggy East Lothian for day three of the Genesis Scottish Open.

Play commenced on time this morning, but we had a two-and-a-half hour delay because of the lack of visibility, hence a slightly later start to this live text.

The last pairing is now due out at 18:15 BST, with plenty of big names vying for position at the top of the leaderboard.
