  1. Scheffler tees offpublished at 19:02 BST 12 April

    Scheffler -7, Li -7

World number one Scottie Scheffler gets his final round under way at Augusta National, playing alongside China's Li Haotong and hoping that's an omen - as the two played in the final group of Scheffler's Open Championship victory at Portrush last year.

Scheffler swipes a drive wide right but his recovery is brilliant, finding the green with a controlled fade around a tree.

  2. Masters Highlights: Young's super Saturday 65published at 18:59 BST 12 April

    Young -11 (19:25 BST)

Yes, he had a bit of luck along the way, but Cameron Young's 65 was a brilliant round of golf on Saturday - firing the Players Championship winner to the top of the leaderboard.

  3. 'Rose has been so close, he will have that belief' - Southgatepublished at 18:55 BST 12 April

    Rose -8 (19:03 BST)

More from Sir Gareth Southgate talking to Sky Sports, on the chasing pack and Justin Rose: "I would say Justin Rose is in a position that our team now are. He’s been there; he was so close last year.

"[The England football team] got to a semi-final. We said to the guys if you get to a semi-final, you can get to a final, we got to two finals. They know then they can win.

"The reality now is you’ve got to make that step – it’s the biggest step of all in some respects.

"But he’s been so close, he looks to be playing consistently well that I think he will have that belief. There’s no surprises for him around that course today."

  4. McIlroy didn't quite have it on Saturdaypublished at 18:54 BST 12 April

Rory McIlroy admits he "didn't quite have" his A-game during a one-over third-round 73 at the Masters after entering Saturday's round with a six-shot lead.

The defending champion will still enter today's final round tied for the lead on 11-under with American Cameron Young.

  5. Hovland's hopes of course record spoiledpublished at 18:53 BST 12 April

    Hovland -4 (15)

Viktor Hovland had been having himself a hell of Sunday at the Masters until he reached the 15th hole.

The Norwegian holed a 53-footer on the 11th for birdie and then drained a putt from 41 feet on the 13th, to reach seven under for the day and have the course record of a nine-under 63 in his sights.

However, Nick Price and Greg Norman can probably rest easy now after Hovland flew miles through the 15th green and into the pond at the back with his second.

And he then toiled to a double-bogey seven on the par-five hole.

McIlroy cut a lonesome figure on the range last night

Having seen his six-shot lead disappear, Rory McIlroy went to the range last night and hammered balls into the fading light.

It was needed. The defending champion was all over the place yesterday. He missed six fairways and eight greens, flailing drives to the right and pulling his irons to the left.

Whether or not his soul-searching practice session adequately addressed the issues in his game remains to be seen, but he simply can't be as loose today given the quality of the players around him.

They include Cameron Young, who has gone 67-65 since an opening 73 and looks in command of his game. His only hiccup yesterday was a six at the par-five 15th after finding water, but he responded with a superb birdie at the next.

The last nine Masters winners have come from the final pairing. This is going to be a fascinating duel.

  7. 'If that was McIlroy's bad round, he's in a good place' - Southgatepublished at 18:48 BST 12 April

Sir Gareth Southgate speaking on Sky Sports on how Rory McIlroy bounces back from day three and resets: "I think perspective is a huge thing. Everybody’s talking about him blowing a six-shot lead but he was one-over par. I’ve heard everybody say he wasn’t playing anywhere near his best and yet he hung in there.

"The resilience that he’s developed over the years meant he hung in there, recovered from the dropped shots.

"There were so many good players. In that group behind him – some of them were going to play well, weren’t they?

"I’m assuming that will happen today, someone will come out of the pack and have an outstanding round.

"So, it’s not just about where he’s at. He might feel that over four rounds, if that’s his bad one, then he’s in a pretty good place."

  8. Morikawa makes early movepublished at 18:46 BST 12 April

    Reed -6, Morikawa -6 (1)

Augusta specialist Patrick Reed started with three straight birdies to emerge as Rory McIlroy's closest challenger early in yesterday's round but faded to an even-par 72.

He's begun with a par today, but Collin Morikawa - who has been battling a back injury - opens with a fine birdie despite finding sand off the tee. Five shots back.
