    Henley -10 (11)

Russell Henley prods a mid-range birdie putt left on the 11th hole. A fraction more power and that was in.

  2. Birdies for Young and McIlroypublished at 21:27 BST 12 April

    McIlroy -11, Young -11 (8)

The patrons think Cameron Young has thinned his chip shot but he's actually showing fantastic knowledge of the topography as he runs his ball up the bank to the left of the green.

It comes running back and he'll have six feet for birdie. Makes it! Bounces back after those two bogeys.

McIlroy's a touch tentative with his downhill eagle bid but that's a tap-in birdie. Two in a row.

The final pairing trail Justin Rose by one.

  3. Hatton's red-hot putting streakpublished at 21:26 BST 12 April

    Hatton -10 (16)

It's like throwing darts for Tyrrell Hatton at present. The Englishman wedges in to 14 feet on the 16th to give himelf another look at birdie.

This is a must make really but his putter is on fire at present and in it drops. Hatton is now two back and seven under for today with two holes to play.

He can apply some scoreboard pressure if he can keep this up.

    McIlroy -10, Young -10 (7)

    McIlroy's walking!

Having found the left edge of the fairway on the eighth, he slings an outrageous draw towards the green. It lands on the surface and runs up to around 25 feet for eagle. What a chance.

Young couldn't work his fairway metal back and misses right.

  5. 'People underestimate Rose'published at 21:19 BST 12 April

    Rose -12 (9)

    Trish Johnson
Former Europe Solheim Cup player on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think people underestimate Justin Rose. I’m not sure they realise how many PGA Tour events he’s won. I think he’s won 12 PGA events and that is a huge amount in the modern era.

He’s a perennial winner, he’s a major winner, he’s an (Olympic) gold medal winner.

You only get so many cracks at it though, and I think he knows that.

  6. Rose goes solopublished at 21:19 BST 12 April

Only eight players have ever won the Masters the year after finishing runner-up. Could Justin Rose become number nine?

His drive down the ninth is perfect and he stiffs his iron to 15 feet. Is this another birdie incoming? Yes it is!

The Englishman has birdied four of the last five holes and all of a sudden the issues with his flatstick from just 24 hours ago are forgotten.

He now leads the Masters by two strokes.

  7. 'Come on Rory!'published at 21:19 BST 12 April

    McIlroy -10 (7)

It's never simple with Rory McIlroy and he's put his fans back home at Holywood Golf Club through the ringer already tonight.

But they haven't given up hope. A few more pints of stout will be sunk before the night's out I'm sure.

  8. Hatton makes third consecutive birdiepublished at 21:16 BST 12 April

    Hatton -9 (15)

Tyrrell Hatton is well and truly on the birdie train but has he boarded too late?

The Englishman reels off his third on the spin after putting back on to the 15th green to tap-in range.

  9. 'Interesting dynamic for McIlroy now - he can relish the fight'published at 21:15 BST 12 April

    McIlroy -10 (7)

    Iain Carter
BBC golf correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Live

An interesting dynamic here from McIlroy’s point of view is that he can relish the fight here, more than in previous years where there would be that hint of desperation, he can actually say to himself ‘I’m in a battle here to win the Masters and I’m here to enjoy this’ as much as you can in that kind of scenario.

In previous years it would have been just dripping with angst throughout the whole process.

  10. Par for Scheffler but Li's been box officepublished at 21:14 BST 12 April

    Scheffler -9, Li -7 (9)

Scottie Scheffler annihilated his drive down the ninth fairway but his approach shot, for him, was bang average and he had no real chance of sinking that for a birdie. Scheffler hits the turn two under for his round and needing to step on the gas now.

Li Haotong stuck his approach stone dead for his second straight birdie in what's been a crackerjack of a first nine, which has seen him pick up four birdies but also make four bogeys, so after all that he's right back where he started!

    He's box office though.

  11. 'Rose - complete antithesis of McIlroy at the moment'published at 21:12 BST 12 April

    Rose -11 (8)

    Trish Johnson
Former Europe Solheim Cup player on BBC Radio 5 Live

Rose is playing great, every part of his game is great and that calmness comes from that confidence.

He’s the complete antithesis of McIlroy at the moment. He’s not quite sure.

  12. Postpublished at 21:11 BST 12 April

    Henley -10 (10)

Only a par for Russell Henley on the 10th but with Amen Corner to come there are no signs he is going anywhere just yet.

  13. Young bogeys as McIlroy makes groundpublished at 21:09 BST 12 April

    Young -10, McIlroy -10 (7)

Young splashes out of the bunker but can't get inside of McIlroy's ball.

Another knee-knocker for par from nine feet. He's missed again!

Back-to-back bogeys. Justin Rose leads the Masters on his own, folks.

Can McIlroy move to within one? He got a read off Young's effort and he pours it in! He needed that.

  14. Rose moves level with Youngpublished at 21:06 BST 12 April

    Day -5, Rose -11 (8)

    Exemplary iron play.

Justin Rose bails out right at the eighth and then plays a delicious chip to three feet. The Englishman is looking the part now and buries his birdie putt to take a share of the lead.

  15. Homa finishing strongpublished at 21:04 BST 12 April

    Homa -7 (16)

    Max HomaImage source, Getty Images

Max Homa has had a troubled couple of years to say the least, famously saying he had a "toxic relationship" with his failing golf game having previously been one of the stars of the PGA Tour - winning six times in four years between 2019-23.

Homa was as high as world number five, but his game collapsed as he chased extra swing speed and he struggled mentally to deal with the downturn. Hopefully, one of the most charismatic characters in golf is on the way back, as he's showing with his Masters finish.

He's had an eagle on 13 and then a birdie on 16 after not being too far away from a hole-in-one, so at seven under he's eighth on the leaderboard - too far back but certainly a good sign for the future.

  16. Postpublished at 21:03 BST 12 April

    Young -11, McIlroy -9 (6)

A corker of a drive from Rory McIlroy leaves him 111 yards into the seventh. It's right over the flag and spins back to seven feet. Downhill but a huge chance to kick-start his round.

Cameron Young has the perfect angle from the left edge of the fairway but he's dunked it in the bunker! Another mistake.

  17. Postpublished at 21:02 BST 12 April

    Henley -10 (9)

Russell Henley is strolling around the Augusta National like he's playing a practice round with his mates at the local municipal.

He looks completely unflustered and clips in to a few feet on the 10th. All of a sudden he's a decent putt away from a share of the lead at the Masters.

  18. 'Just got to hope McIlroy and Rose hang in there'published at 21:02 BST 12 April

    Trish Johnson
Former Europe Solheim Cup player on BBC Radio 5 Live

It’s nearly always the case on Sunday, the Americans come to the party when it really matters around this golf course.

We’ve just got to hope that Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy hang on in there for those last four or five holes where we know certainly that McIlroy loves those holes.

  19. Could Hatton make late run?published at 20:59 BST 12 April

    Hatton -8 (14)

Could Tyrrell Hatton mount a late charge?

The Englishman is yet to win a major and his results at Augusta National have been mixed to say the least since he made his bow here in 2017.

However, a stunning approach into four feet at the 14th sets up a birdie opportunity that he gleefully converts. Just three back now.

  20. 'If McIlroy was at the top of the game, he'd have chipped that'published at 20:54 BST 12 April

    McIlroy -9 (6)

    Trish Johnson
Former Europe Solheim Cup player on BBC Radio 5 Live

I feel with McIlroy if he was at the absolute top of his game, ultra confident, he probably would have chipped that.
