  1. 'It's been breathless'published at 18:23 GMT 26 December 2025

    HT: Wrexham 2-3 Sheffield Utd

    Danny Hall
Sheffield Star journalist on BBC Radio Sheffield

It's been breathless, it's been frantic, not a great deal of quality I must say, but it's been a game of basketball as Chris Wilder likes to say.

The Blades will go in frustrated that they're not further ahead, but Wrexham are still in it.

It's Boxing Day party time and the players of Wrexham and Sheffield United are delivering in the grand manner.

The Blades edge it thanks to two for Patrick Bamford and a header from little Callum O'Hare.

But a Tyler Bindon own goal and Kieffer Moore's header will keep Wrexham interested.

If you need to grab a turkey sandwich, a bit of pork pie or a mince pie, make it quick!!

  4. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45 mins

Two extra minutes at the end of a blockbusting 45 minutes.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 44 mins

    Wrexham 2-3 Sheff Utd

This is a big chance for Tahith Chong to restore the visitors' two-goal cushion.

They work it well for him running into the area, down the right, but he takes one touch too many and allows Arthur Okonkwo to save.

  6. 'There hasn't been a goal in about 10 minutes'published at 18:12 GMT 26 December 2025

    Wrexham 2-3 Sheffield Utd

    Adam Oxley
    BBC Radio Sheffield

The Blades lead by one goal, they'd certainly like to be leading by more having scored three goals away from home.

There hasn't been a goal in about 10 minutes, what are they playing at?

  7. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 40 mins

    Wrexham 2-3 Sheff Utd

More penalty shouts from the Wrexham supporters.

Dom Hyam climbs highest to meet a cross and he heads it down, where Tyler Bindon chests it away.

Heart-in-mouth stuff for the New Zealand centre-back or coolness personified?

    Probably somewhere in the middle.

  8. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 38 mins

    Wrexham 2-3 Sheff Utd

Wrexham fans are appealing for a penalty.

It definitely hits the hand of Ollie Arblaster, but that's because his hand is up appealing for offside.

    And the decision is?

Offside against home strike Kieffer Moore.

  9. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Wrexham 2-3 Sheff Utd

A tale of two strikers in this game, so far.

    Two goals for Patrick Bamford.

One goal and an (unfortunate) assist for Kieffer Moore.

Football fans probably don't need reminding that Moore's last touch for Sheffield United was an unfortunate assist at Wembley in May.

Bamford trained with Coventry before signing for Sheff Utd. Huge missed opportunity to not sign him on a free.

    Mitchell, Coventry

As a Leeds fan, it’s hard not to wish Bamford well despite who he’s playing for. Always said he is a fantastic instinctive finisher, his problems came when he had time to think. Wouldn’t be surprised if he keeps this form up all season to be honest!

    Murray, Nottingham

So pleased to see our number nine is still one of best in the Championship, Bamford hat-trick coming up.

  11. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Wrexham 2-3 Sheff Utd

Crikey, this game feels like a throwback to Christmas games from the 1950s and 1960s when huge scorelines were commonplace.

How many more goals might we get tonight?

  12. 'Kieffer Moore gets the fifth goal of this crazy game'published at 18:00 GMT 26 December 2025

    Wrexham 2-3 Sheffield Utd

    Adam Oxley
    BBC Radio Sheffield

The former Blade, just outside the six yard box, beat the Sheffield United defenders.

The warning signs were there from the last corner and the Blades have now been punished.

Kieffer Moore gets the fifth goal of this crazy game.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 29 mins

    Wrexham 2-3 Sheff Utd

Patrick Bamford is hat-trick hunting and he fires one at goal from a narrow angle.

    Arthur Okonkwo beats it away.

Raining goals at the Stok Cae Ras!!!

A goal against his old club for Kieffer Moore and Wrexham are back in this!

George Thomason swings in a brilliant corner, which big man Moore meets with a thumping header. Deficit halved and Moore makes up for setting O'Hare's goal minutes before.

    Wrexham 1-3 Sheffield Utd

    Adam Oxley

Callum O'Hare beats the keeper to it.

The smallest man on the pitch has beaten Okonkwo to the ball and headed it home.

The Blades fans are going barmy.

    Callum O'Hare

Callum O'Hare heads in Sheffield United's third goal at WrexhamImage source, PA Media

One of the smallest players on the pitch scores with a header and Sheff Utd are two goals clear!

Sam McCallum with the long throw into the danger zone and it's an inadvertent flick-on from Kieffer Moore.

Callum O'Hare senses it and times the run to perfection to rise above Matty James and goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo to head home.

  17. 'Arblaster heads it off the line'published at 17:55 GMT 26 December 2025

    Wrexham 1-2 Sheffield Utd

    Adam Oxley
    BBC Radio Sheffield

Arblaster heads it off the line.

It was Kieffer Moore with the header, United have got to be more wary of that from future corners.

  18. CLOSE!published at 23 mins

    Wrexham 1-2 Sheff Utd

    Off the line!

Great positioning from Blades midfielder Ollie Arblaster as he heads clear.

Kieffer Moore with the fine goalbound header for the home side.

  19. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Wrexham 1-2 Sheff Utd

A free-kick in a promising position for Phil Parkinson's side.

Nathan Broadhead fancies it from the edge of the box, but goes for power rather than placement and he clears the angle of post and bar.

    A bit of a waste.

  20. Bamford doing the businesspublished at 19 mins

Patrick Bamford raises his finger in celebrationImage source, PA Media

Patrick Bamford is only contracted to Sheffield United until January.

He only joined the Blades in November and now has five goals to his name.

If the Blades don't sign him up for longer, there will be plenty of other Championship clubs queuing up to get him.
