  1. 'He hit it with some venom'published at 18:58 GMT 26 December 2025

    Wrexham 3-3 Sheffield Utd

    Danny Hall

When Gus Hamer hits a free-kick it's almost as good as a penalty.

He hit it with some venom and forced a good save out of Okonkwo.

    Wrexham 3-3 Sheff Utd

Gustavo Hamer carefully lines up the resulting free-kick. He takes aim and Arthur Okonkwo gets two hands to it to push it behind.

Now at the other end, Patrick Bamford gets the wrong side of Ryan Longman and he is brought down just as he was about to get into the area.

Referee Andrew Kitchen signals for a free-kick and books Longman.

    A booking all day long.

Cracking game for us neutrals. When they say the Championship is the most difficult to get out of (upwardly) I can fully understand it. If you look at the calibre of clubs and their history (recent and historical) you could turn the league table upside down and not be surprised.

    Wrexham 3-3 Sheff Utd

Sheffield United's best piece of play by a long way in this half.

Tyler Bindon spots Patrick Bamford's run into the channel and the forward plays an educated ball into the path of the onrushing Harrison Burrows, who fizzes a low ball across the face.

It's just beyond Callum O'Hare as he tries to get on the end of it.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 63 mins

    Wrexham 3-3 Sheff Utd

Perhaps not surprisingly after seeing his side give up a two-goal lead, Blades boss Chris Wilder blinks first.

Harrison Burrows enters the fray in place of Tahith Chong.

He missed a big chance to make it 4-2 late in the first half.

A lot of Championship games are usually tight, cagey affairs.

Much huff and puff, chances at a premium.

    Not this one.

[Re: 46 mins] Sorry to hear about the marzipan. Did you get done by the sprouts disguised as Ferrero Rocher as well? Thoughts and prayers

Marzipan is disgusting. Surely everyone knows that.

This match is definitely the equivalent of the day's events at the Boxing Day Ashes Test in Melbourne.

    Bonkers stuff.

Defensive techniques with a bat in hand and in defending crossed balls leaving a lot to be desired.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 54 mins

    Wrexham 3-3 Sheff Utd

    Almost a seventh goal!

Wrexham get Josh Windass into a good shooting position, he lets fly and Michael Cooper parries it.

The rebound drops for Nathan Broadhead, but he drags it wide.

    Wrexham 3-3 Sheffield Utd

    Danny Hall
Sheffield Star journalist on BBC Radio Sheffield

It's another real blow for United, Wrexham had all the time in the world to stand it up.

I don't know whether Ryan Longman just got the momentum on Sam McCallum but he outjumped him and now it's all square.

    Ryan Longman

Ryan Longman heads Wrexham's equaliser against Sheffield UnitedImage source, PA Media

What were we saying about Wrexham coming from behind?

Left wing-back George Thomason stands up a beautiful cross for his mate on the opposite flank, Ryan Longman, to head home.

It was so inviting and Longman stole a march on Sam McCallum to give Michael Cooper no chance.

Wrexham have come from behind plenty of times this season.

In their last two home games against Blackburn and Watford, they have salvaged equalisers in injury time so we know Phil Parkinson's men will keep going.

A dangerous low ball from Patrick Bamford and Dom Hyam makes sure to snuff it out as he slides in to put it behind.

Still a corner though, which Tyler Bindon gets to first, but heads well over.

We've already had more goals in one half than any of the other 11 earlier Championship games.

The most goals we've had in a game this season is eight - twice - both of those featured Coventry.

Can we reach that or surpass it in the second half at the Stok Cae Ras?
