One of the great games of Championship football ends there.

From 3-1 down, Wrexham come back to win an absolutely rip-roaring game.

Attack, attack, attack from first minute to last.

A Christmas overindulgence of eight goals and chances galore.

But who cares? We can recover tomorrow!

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 90-3 mins

    Wrexham 5-3 Sheff Utd

That is so unlucky for Tyrese Campbell.

The ball is nodded down to him about 10 yards out and he volleys it against the underside of the crossbar with his right foot.

That would have made things interesting. Not the Blades' night now.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 90+1 mins

    Wrexham 5-3 Sheff Utd

Josh Windass' penalty may well have finished off Sheffield United.

And he will enjoy that as he makes way for Jay Rodriguez.

A first appearance of the season for the one-time England international.

In the first half, you were thinking that Sheffield United could make a tilt for the top six.

In this half, you're wondering if Wrexham could put something together.

As it stands, they will be five points and seven places outside the play-offs.

I'm sure Chris Wilder would have expected three points if you had offered him three goals at the start of this match.

But his side has had a defensive disaster.

Kieffer Moore is now up to 12 goals for Wrexham this season after leaving Bramall Lane in the summer - would the Blades be so low down if Moore had stayed?

And obviously if Wilder had not been shoved aside for Ruben Selles for a few months!

A great ovation for Kieffer Moore as he comes off after those two goals. Sam Smith replaces him.

A last roll of the dice for Sheffield United as Danny Ings and Andre Brooks are summoned with Callum O'Hare and Sam McCallum making way.

A nightmare of an evening for Sheffield United, from 3-1 up to now trailing 5-3.

The ex-Sheffield Wednesday forward up against Sheffield United...

And Josh Windass delivers! That could well be the game.

Windass confidently sends Michael Cooper the wrong way with a very good penalty.

  14. PENALTY TO WREXHAMpublished at 80 mins

    Wrexham 4-3 Sheff Utd

George Thomason goes down and a penalty is given.

Tyler Bindon goes to ground and gives referee Andrew Kitchen a decision to make and he points to the spot.

Bindon is also booked for the challenge.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 79 mins

    Wrexham 4-3 Sheff Utd

Sheffield United are so close to making it 4-4!

Super burst from Gustavo Hamer to keep the ball in on the dead ball line and he pulls it back invitingly for Ollie Arblaster to meet.

But from six yards out, Arthur Okonkwo makes a vital save.

  16. 'An absolute hammer blow for United'published at 19:06 GMT 26 December 2025

    Wrexham 4-3 Sheffield Utd

    Danny Hall
Sheffield Star journalist on BBC Radio Sheffield

It's an absolute hammer blow for United.

The ground is bouncing, Arblaster gave the ball away cheaply, you could see the run of Moore and once the ball was in his path, you could see it was destiny against his former club.

Tanganga turned around and screamed at his defenders.

    We have our seventh goal...

And Wrexham have come from 3-1 down to lead for the first time this evening.

Kieffer Moore has his second of the night against his old club and this could be the decisive strike.

Good work from Nathan Broadhead in the centre of the pitch as he times his pass to perfection into Moore's path and the Wales striker buries it high beyond Michael Cooper.

Two more alterations for the Blades.

Patrick Bamford has to settle for two goals as he makes way along with Jairo Riedewald.

Tyrese Campbell and Djibril Soumare join the festivities.

  19. CLOSE!published at 73 mins

    Wrexham 3-3 Sheff Utd

This game really has been all-out attack and the pendulum swings back towards Wrexham threatening.

Callum Doyle with a back-post header that Michael Cooper keeps out, the home side keep it alive and Nathan Broadhead's effort is goalbound, but Ollie Arblaster is stationed on the post and clears it off the line.
