Arsenal and Bayern Munich have their places in the knockout rounds confirmed, but for the other six automatic positions, tonight should prove to be thoroughly entertaining with lots of movement in the table.

From sixth position to 13th, eight teams are tied on 13 points, with only goal difference separating them...

    Champions League

Arsenal (home to Kairat) - start the night top of the table and with a place in the last-16 guaranteed after seven wins out of seven. A point tonight will secure top spot.

Liverpool (home to Qarabag) - guaranteed at least a play-off place (seeded), but may still advance directly to the round of 16. They start the night fourth in the table.

Tottenham (away to Eintracht Frankfurt) - if only Spurs could transform their European form onto the Premier League stage! Thomas Frank's side start fifth and a win in Germany will mean they join north London rivals Arsenal in the knockout stages.

Newcastle (away to Paris St-Germain) - this is Newcastle's 36th game of the season. They could do without an extra two in the play-offs but Eddie Howe's men, who start seventh, face a huge test away to reigning European champions Paris St-Germain.

Chelsea (away to Napoli) - will Antonio Conte deny his former club an automatic place in the last 16? Chelsea start the night in the eighth and final automatic spot.

Man City (home to Galatasaray) - Pep Guardiola's side are the only English side that starts outside the automatic top-eight places. They really don't want to be bogged down with the play-offs as they chase another Premier League title, a place in the League Cup final and look to go deep in the FA Cup.

Remember, only the teams that finish in the top eight receive an automatic passage into the last 16.

Teams that finish ninth to 24th will play in a two-legged play-off in February.

Those that finish 25th to 36th are eliminated.
