The smell of change is in the Anfield air and battles against scents of summer ale on the streets surrounding the stadium.

Bars spill punters out onto roads, guitar chords fight with the sound of general revelry. It is, for many, the sound of a normal summer rolling in on a far from normal day.

For kids born this side of 2000, Jurgen Klopp gave them the taste of glory seen only on DVDs of the past. For their mums, dads and grandparents, he helped usher in the best memories of their brightest days.

One more day in the sun for all concerned. As one billboard opposite The Kop reads… "safe travels Jurgen".

As fun as it is to think of the Premier League trophy being dramatically helicoptered up and down the country as the title race swings one way and the other, that is sadly not the case today.

There are in fact two identical trophies - one that has stayed with holders Manchester City over the season and one that is kept for use by the Premier League - with these being located at both stadiums on the final matchday.

There will also be identical podiums and pyrotechnics in place at each ground and the trophy will not be engraved until after it has been lifted by the champions.

Players will not have to worry about waiting around on medals either, with a set of 40 being available at both Etihad Stadium and Emirates Stadium for the winners.

Stefan Ortega will be the man in Manchester City's goal to try to help them win the Double.

First-choice goalkeeper Ederson is out for the rest of the season with a fractured eye socket, so Ortetga will play today and in next Saturday's FA Cup final against Manchester United.

Man City fan Liv Lang will be at the Etihad to watch City take on West Ham and she’s taking nothing for granted.

Liv told BBC Newsbeat: "We’re City and tend to not do things the easy way when it comes to the last day of the season in a title race.

"So I’m going to push it to the back of mind and try and enjoy the build up with my friends."

Three or four months ago, Liv says she didn’t expect City to be in pole position to win a fourth consecutive title because of injuries and inconsistent form.

"But now it’s in touching distance, I want it just as much as I always do," she added.

"I’ll be a nervous wreck in the stands until we score and are [at least] two goals in front. Because anything can happen."

Having fallen short last season, Arsenal have taken the Premier League title race down to the wire.

But given the progress they have made under Mikel Arteta, will they be the favourites next season?

Gunners supporter Tanvi Shah and former winger Adrian Clarke tell The Football News Show why they are bullish about the team's prospects for the future.

Manchester City

Manchester City forward Bernardo Silva, speaking to Sky Sports: "We will do the same stuff that we do all the time and prepare for the game in the same way knowing that the final game is a little bit more difficult.

"People are nervous, but that's completely normal. With our fans it is going to be easier as they are going to be pushing us.

"It is fine to feel nervous, it is part of the game and it means you care."

The Arsenal supporters know what their team need to do if they are to have any chance of winning the league.

There was just under three hours to kick off when I arrived at the Highbury and Islington train stop and it was the busiest I have seen it this season.

The walk from there to the station was a sea of red shirts and songs were coming out from the pubs along the way.

The atmosphere is good already at the stadium and it's sure to be excellent once the game gets going.

I bumped into a couple of long distance Manchester City fans on my way into the stadium, who have travelled over from Vancouver on the west coast of Canada.

They had tickets booked since November and felt quite confident even then they would get to see City lifting the Premier League trophy.

It has changed a lot since Zahid Satchu started supporting them in the 1990s.

"It was when they were promoted to the old First Division," he said.

"At the time, it felt like it was just me supporting the club in Vancouver.

"But times have changed. There is a bar in the city that opens at 04.30 local time when City have a Saturday lunchtime game in the UK, just so we can watch and have a beer."

That is hard core fandom.

There is, inevitably, a huge ovation and Klopp responds with a low-key wave before tapping his heart to the stands.

West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to Sky Sports: "My emotions are fine, every game is important for a manager.

"I have enjoyed my time at West Ham. I had a great send off last week, we had a good result too and hopefully we can do that again today.

"Today is a big game for the Premier League."

On Jarrod Bowen not being named in the squad: "It is difficult when you don't have Jarrod. He has tonsillitis and it wasn't well enough to travel. He is a big miss for us, to be without him is a blow."

On Man City: "I watched Real Madrid play deep against Man City. I have seen some teams play five at the back and some have played four, whatever you do City make it really difficult as they find a way to outdo you."

One difference between City last season and this season is the distribution of the goals. Phil Foden has taken loads more shots and scored significantly more goals compared to last season when it was mainly Erling Haaland.

The interesting thing with Manchester City is the fact that who has the ball the most in their play has changed over the years. In their Centurions season it was the full backs, then moving through until now where it is Rodri who has the ball the majority of the time. It's moved from the full backs to centre midfield to the centre backs back to centre midfield. That rotation has been the most interesting.

Jurgen Klopp is leaving this Liverpool team in a much better position than when Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United or Arsene Wenger left Arsenal.

He could have hung around and continued to fight for the Premier League again and again and again until he felt they weren't up to it any more. But I feel as though he is leaving a team that is not too far off being title contenders.

Regardless of their final day performance, today will be a very emotional day for the Liverpool fanbase, as Jurgen Klopp manages his final game for the club.

The various landmarks celebrating the German manager are already gathering crowds, as the red side of the city look to cherish his final few hours in charge.
