I hear West Ham would have been willing to fly Jarrod Bowen up to Manchester this morning if his symptoms had eased.

Sadly, that has not happened.

It costs Bowen the chance to add to his 16 Premier League goals this season.

If you look at Arsenal they have progressed and they have been up there challenging but I don't really think they have exceeded expectations.

They have improved but they are still coming up short as it stands.There is still room for growth there. You look and think maybe they need a centre forward, have scored the second most goals in the league and they are second in the table.

Last season the question was, 'Can they go again next season?' Well they have proved that they can and I think there is more to come next year. There needs to be.

Another day, another accolade for a Manchester City player.

Phil Foden was crowned the Premier League's player of the season earlier this week and said he is "extremely proud" to receive the award.

The midfielder headed an eight-player shortlist including City team-mate Erling Haaland, Arsenal duo Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk and Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins.

Foden has scored 17 goals and contributed eight assists in the league so far this season.

"The Premier League is acknowledged as the greatest league in the world, and it is a pleasure to have been nominated with so many other great players who have all enjoyed special seasons for their clubs," said 23-year-old Foden.

"Overall, I've been very happy with the way I have played this season and really pleased that I have been able to contribute with the goals and assists throughout the season.

"To win this award is an achievement I am extremely proud of."

City players have now claimed the accolade five years in a row, with Foden joining Ruben Dias, Haaland and two-time winner Kevin de Bruyne in winning the award.

This is the fourth time in the Sheikh Mansour era Manchester City's title quest has gone down to the last day.

Bizarrely, they have gone behind in the previous three.

No-one will forget how late they left it in 2012, when Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero scored in injury-time after they had trailed to QPR in a game they had to win.

Five years ago, they also fell behind at Brighton and for 20 minutes were behind Liverpool in the in-play table before they turned it around and won easily.

And, weirdly, whilst they were 2-0 down against Aston Villa a couple of years ago, they were never headed in the table as their fortunes had changed by the time Liverpool got in front in their game against Wolves.

Today, Arsenal are relying on a team who will finish ninth no matter what the result, whose manager is leaving after this game and - more importantly - have lost on all seven visits to the Etihad when Pep Guardiola has been in charge by the combined score of 15-4.

The narrative is that this will be a straight forward afternoon for Manchester City but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says his "dream is still alive" going into the final game.

"I do believe," Arteta told BBC Sport editor Dan Roan.

"We wanted to be in this position. We have earned the right to live a beautiful day in front of our people on Sunday with the hope and big opportunity that we can lift the trophy at the end of the match.

"We have the possibility to live a beautiful day on Sunday where the dream is still alive and it's still possible. It's football, we have to live the moment."

I think Gabriel Martinelli hasn't had quite the season he had last year, and I think he's the one Arsenal player who's got something to prove.

Martinelli and Saka are both the youngsters that have carried the team over recent seasons, but maybe Martinelli can do it by himself today for the team.

It is always difficult for a new manager to come into a club and replace a figure like Jurgen Klopp. Some of those players will know no different than him.

I think his energy, his enthusiasm, the man he is, he will be missed throughout the Premier League in all honesty. A real character, a real positive in our game, and what he's done at Liverpool, transformed them, brought them back to the Liverpool of old, he united the club and the fans and the city and created something unbelievably special. Not a huge tactician, it was more about people buying into him and they have done.

Two teams heading in different directions meet here on the final day at Bramall Lane. Chris Wilder's already said that Sheffield United have a massive summer ahead of them and they have already started the clearout ahead of a return to the Championship.

Any Tottenham fan at the start of the season would have taken fifth place but such has been the Ange effect that it does feel slightly disappointing that they won't be in the Champions League after some great performances across the campaign.

They need a point to make sure of Europa League football and make no mistake this looks like an away win on paper and Spurs fans will be confident they can finish the season with a victory.

The Premier League is one of the UK's greatest global exports.

I have counted 12 different camera crews by the side of the pitch alone, never mind the countless other stations across the world who have the rights to games.

Chair Alison Brittain will be handing out the trophy and medals if they are won here today.

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters is at Arsenal, with a different trophy and another set of medals.

Jurgen Klopp has spent the week interacting with supporters, writing a personal letter to them which was published in the Liverpool Echo newspaper, and doing interviews with high-profile fan media.

He even created an Instagram account to keep in touch with the fanbase, posting a video on his final day in the Melwood office and the clear-out of his stuff in boxes.

"It's going to be a sad day at Anfield," Neil Atkinson from The Anfield Wrap told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"I think he's going to find himself very upset indeed, but all things must pass. He's got a life to go and live.

"Now we find ourselves at the end of this process and we've all been able to prepare for it for an extended period of time.

"It's no longer a shock - everyone's known it's on the cards - and we've got to celebrate the whole thing and play a game of football."

West Ham boss David Moyes is stood by the side of the pitch watching Manchester City's warm-up.

Moyes had his farewell at the London Stadium last week and will leave West Ham after today's game.

He has delivered three European campaigns, always reaching the quarter-finals, three top-10 finishes and that never-to-be-forgotten Europa Conference League triumph in Prague last June.

He is doing some punditry work for BBC Sport during the Euros but Pep Guardiola thinks he will be back in the technical area pretty soon and I think he is right.

Phil Foden has already won the football writers' player of the year and the Premier League version.

If Manchester City won the title today, it would be his sixth, which would take him level with David Beckham, amongst others. and joint sixth on the all-time list.

He is only 23 and has plenty of time to add more accolades.

Manager Pep Guardiola thinks there is more to come.

"It is obvious Phil has made a step forward, both in terms of minutes and being decisive in winning games," said Guardiola.

"Before it was a glimpse of action, now it is consistent, that is the truth.

"But he still has margins. Sometimes his game is over excited. He has to be more calm.

"He is moving forward but I have the feeling he can be better."

Last season Arsenal kept pace with Manchester City, even leading the Premier League title race by eight points in April.

But City won 11 league games in a row as Arsenal fell away and Pep Guardiola's side clinched the title with three games remaining.

This time, Mikel Arteta's side have kept the pressure on and taken it to the last day.

The Spaniard knows his Manchester City counterpart well having worked under him at the Etihad.

But will the student finally become the master?

The 2023-24 Golden Glove, awarded to the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets, has already been claimed by Arsenal's David Raya.

Everton's Jordan Pickford, his nearest rival, is three behind Raya's tally of 16 with one game to play.

It looks like it will be a second consecutive year for Erling Haaland winning the Golden boot. The City striker is five goals clear of nearest rival Cole Palmer.

Haaland, who has 27 goals, will become the first player to win the award outright in back-to-back seasons since England captain Harry Kane achieved the feat in 2015-16 and 2016-17 while at Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins (13) is three ahead of his nearest rivals for assists.
