    Stevenage 0-1 Burton

The goal has certainly raised the temperature on the pitch, if not in the stands.

Boro skipper Carl Piergianni almost gifts the visitors a second opportunity with a blind pass across the face of his box but Dan Sweeney is alert to bail him out.

Down the other end 17-year-old Ryan Doherty sees a low 20-yard strike fly a yard past the upright.

  2. Postpublished at 12:56 GMT 20 December 2025

    Bromley 1-0 Grimsby

Grimsby are pressing hard here with Harvey Rodgers nearly getting on the end of a ball into the area by Jaze Kabia and then Charles Vernam combining with Junior Amaluzor, the latter feeding Rodgers again who just flicks an effort past the post.

  3. 'Tight affair'published at 12:55 GMT 20 December 2025

    Wigan 0-0 Blackpool

    Ian Chisnall
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It's a bit like a chess match, no one wants to give anything away.

Chances are a real premium, the movement isn't great at the moment.

  4. Postpublished at 12:54 GMT 20 December 2025

    Wigan 0-0 Blackpool

Blackpool keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell needs treatment so both managers take the break to have a chat with their teams.

You'd have to assume Peacock-Farrell is alright as no one in Tangerine looks too worried about it. If he's not, the lack of direct replacement from the bench will make things very interesting...

  5. Close!published at 12:53 GMT 20 December 2025

    Bromley 1-0 Grimsby

Nearly a leveller for the visitors with Charles Vernam puts in a ball and a scramble of toe pokes ends with Kieran Green having the last effort and Grant Smith gratefully gathering in the Bromley goal.

  6. goal

GOAL: Stevenage 0-1 Burtonpublished at 12:53 GMT 20 December 2025

    Tyrese Shade (22 mins)

A Christmas gift for Tyrese Shade.

The Boro defence try to hold a high line but Shade just drops back a yard as Jake Beesley threads through the defence and the flag stays down as the Boro defence stand still with arms aloft as Shade advances into acres of green space to finish low past Filip Marschall.

Just the fourth goal Stevenage have conceded at home this season and the first Burton have scored in four games.

  7. Postpublished at 12:53 GMT 20 December 2025

    Stevenage 0-0 Burton

Another glimpse of goal for Julian Larsson in the Boro box as he latches onto a right-wing cut-back, but he's under immense pressure from this resolute Stevenage defence and his snap-shot is deflected past Filip Marschall's near post.

The Brewers then waste the subsequent corner...

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:52 GMT 20 December 2025

    Notts County 0-0 Walsall

Ryan Finnegan is not too happy about that, clearly feeling he made minimal contact as Tom Iorpenda barrelled towards the Walsall goal.

But he has received an early caution and will have to tread carefully from here on.

  9. Postpublished at 12:51 GMT 20 December 2025

    Stevenage 0-0 Burton

Jake Beesley is down on the deck after catching a nasty blow amidships in midfield.

He'll need to count to at least 100.

Plenty of Nutcrackers around in Christmas week, of course...

No player in League One this season has won as many duels as Beesley's 185 going into this game but that's one duel he's come out on the wrong side of.

  10. Postpublished at 12:50 GMT 20 December 2025

    Wigan 0-0 Blackpool

Rueing that header, Will Aimson takes aim once again for Wigan from outside the box but like last time, can't keep his shot down to hit the target.

  11. 'Great save from Roos'published at 12:50 GMT 20 December 2025

    Notts County 0-0 Walsall

    Tom Heslop
Member of Walsall media team on BBC WM

They do not want to be giving the ball away to someone like Daniel Kanu with the form he's in.

He gets that shot low and hard across the goalkeeper but Roos makes a great save.

  12. Good save!published at 12:50 GMT 20 December 2025

    Notts County 0-0 Walsall

Walsall are kept out by the hosts.

Good save from Kelle Roos after Daniel Kanu engineers a little bit of room in the box and fires a left foot shot back across goal.

Roos gets down sharply to his left to push around the post.

  13. Postpublished at 12:48 GMT 20 December 2025

    Wigan 0-0 Blackpool

Wigan's corner bounces around in front of the net like the floor is lava until finally Will Aimson nods it towards the net.

He gets the height to connect but puts too much of it on the ball, sending it above the bar.

  14. Postpublished at 12:48 GMT 20 December 2025

    Stevenage 0-0 Burton

Boro are doing most of the probing at present but the Brewers back-line are standing up to the task with some physical challenges and timely clearances, the latest from a whipped Chem Campbell cross from the left.

  15. goal

GOAL: Bromley 1-0 Grimsbypublished at 12:46 GMT 20 December 2025

    Will Hondermarck (12 mins)

    The hosts take the lead...

The ball is pinged into the box and after Deji Elerewe's nods it back across goal, Will Hondermarck flicks it in.

  16. Postpublished at 12:44 GMT 20 December 2025

    Stevenage 0-0 Burton

Maybe no surprise we are approaching the 15 minute mark without a goal...

These two teams have combined for just two goals in the opening quarter-hour of their 39 matches so far in League One this season.

Not for the lack of enthusiasm, though. There's a decent pace about the game.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:43 GMT 20 December 2025

    Wigan 0-0 Blackpool

Dara Costelloe is hounded by Blackpool midfielder Jordan Brown and eventually loses the ball.

The Wigan man chases George Honeyman to take it back, sticking out his leg to trip the Tangerine midfielder and gains a yellow card rather than possession.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 12:39 GMT 20 December 2025

    Wigan 0-0 Blackpool

    Bad news for Blackpool.

Boss Ian Evatt has been speaking about his pleasure at getting some of his players back from injury but now he's just lost one as Hayden Coulson clutches at his hamstring.

On comes Zac Ashworth to replace him.

  19. Postpublished at 12:38 GMT 20 December 2025

    Stevenage 0-0 Burton

Boro's turn to attack as defender Dan Sweeney is the unlikely figure to pick up the ball five yards outside the Brewers box and whips in a low shot between two markers which is too close to Burton keeper Brad Collins who is able to gather cleanly.

  20. Postpublished at 12:37 GMT 20 December 2025

    Wigan 0-0 Blackpool

Wigan Athletic are searching for that early opener but all their weaving through the Blackpool defence hasn't earned them any promising situations just yet. Still warming up at The Brick Community Stadium.

Blackpool will need to get purring like a McLaren if they want to put their foot down in the match.
