  1. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:08 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

    City hit the post again!

City right-back Kerstin Casparij runs onto Mille Bright's headed clearance, but her first-time strike slams off the woodwork.

Hannah Hampton was rooted to the spot. That's so unlucky for the hosts.

Olivia Smith races past Anna Sandberg again on the right hand side before providing another good cut back from the byline, but Frida Maanum sweeps the finish over the top.

  3. Postpublished at 20:06 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

As you can see from the average positions map, most of the first half was played in the middle third of the pitch.

Very much a tale of two lonely keepers before Anneke Borbe made the error that gifted United the opportunity to take the lead.

The onus is very much on the home side to provide a response now.

Vivianne Miedema looked a bit uncomfortable towards the end of he first half but has started the second half.

She'll play a key role if City are to get back into this.

An awful, careless error by the Arsenal keeper gives a goal to United. I cannot believe that pass, simply stupid!

    Alan

Arsenal fans watching on must have been thinking something along the lines of: "Just whack it clear!"

    HT: Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

Barely two minutes after I'd said we were in it for the long haul Elisabeth Terland gets the opener.

What's the opposite of curse of the commentator? Luck of the live texter?

  9. 'Let off for Chelsea'published at 19:52 GMT 21 January

    HT: Man City 0-1 Chelsea

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
Former England goalkeeper on BBC iPlayer

On Manchester City's chance late in the half:

There's not many people you'd rather that fall to than Vivianne Midema.

Yes, she's right footed but she would've backed herself.

What a let off for Chelsea..

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 19:50 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

There's hardly any time for referee Stacey Fullicks to restart play before she blows the whistle again for the interval.

Arsenal made more of the first half running but it's Manchester United with their noses in front.

  11. 'Arsenal have themselves to blame'published at 19:49 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

    Gilly Flaherty
Former England defender on BBC iPlayer

Sloppy from Arsenal. You can see you're getting pressed, don't even mess around with it.

Anneke Borbe is not convincing at all. Mariona Caldentey is doing so well to get back.

Arsenal have nobody else to blame but themselves.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 19:49 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

That's it for the first half at the Joie Stadium. Man City really should have scored, but it's Chelsea who lead 1-0.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:49 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

How has that not gone in?

Khadija Shaw runs onto a superb ball over the top from Laura Blindkilde Brown, but the ball in nicked away.

Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton has already come rushing out of her goal, so the goal is completely empty when the ball falls to Vivianne Miedema outside the area, but she hits the post!

That's two open goals missed for City tonight.

  14. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 0-1 Manchester Unitedpublished at 19:46 GMT 21 January

    Elisbeth Terland (45+1 mins)

    Deary me.

Arsenal keeper Anneke Borbe dallies on the ball and in trying to play out to Mariona Caldentey, gifts it straight to United forward Ellen Wangerheim.

The Swede's touch is loose but it runs through to Elisabeth Terland, who turns and fires low into the bottom corner to give the visitors the lead.

This is what Chelsea are so, so good at, staying in the game, capitalising and being efficient.

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

    Emma Sanders
BBC Sport women’s football news reporter at Joie Stadium

City have shown a few nerves at the back and a few wayward passes which is just letting Chelsea in at the moment. Alex Greenwood has looked frustrated with a few team-mates.

  17. Postpublished at 19:45 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester United

Free kick to Arsenal central to the box after Ellen Wangerheim tracks Mariona Caldentey all the way inside from the left before pushing her to the floor.

Alessia Russo steps up to take it, and blasts into the North Bank stand behind the goal.

  18. CLOSE!published at 19:44 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea are clearly targeting City goalkeper Ayaka Yamashita now.

They get another corner which is lumped straight on top of the Japanese keeper, but this time she manages to claw it away.

City are rocking a bit after looking comfortable for most of the half.

  19. 'Easiest of headers for Kaptein'published at 19:44 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
Former England goalkeeper on BBC iPlayer

It's a lovely ball in and it's a wonderful leap from Wieke Kaptein.

Man City will be so disappointed they couldn't stop the run and get rid.

It's a free ride through the 18-yard box for Kaptein and the easiest of headers.

  20. Postpublished at 19:43 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-0 Manchester United

Feels like we could be in it for the long haul tonight.

Both WSL meetings between Arsenal and United this season ended goalless, and 40 minutes into this one they've each had just one shot on target.
