    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

Having just come on full-back Smilla Holmberg jumps at the chance to get forward on the right.

She has plenty of time to assess her options but chooses poorly, firing wildly into the stands behind the Manchester United net instead of picking out a teammate in the middle.

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea replace Sjoeke Nusken with Guro Reiten.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:39 GMT 21 January

City right-back Kerstin Casparij brings down Sjoeke Nusken after gifting the ball to the Chelsea midfielder, and is rightfully booked.

So impressed with Alyssa Thompson's work rate this evening. She has not stopped for a second!

This Arsenal team remind me of Wenger’s last couple of years. Care more about how they play and trying to play in the “right” way, but forgetting about the result.

    Lee, Surrey

They're not doing either at the moment, Lee.

  6. CLOSE!published at 20:36 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

A nice team move from City ends with Vivianne Miedema laying the ball off to an onrushing Kerstin Casparij, but the City right-back lashes her strike over the bar.

How many more chances can City afford to waste?

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:35 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

More Arsenal changes as they continue to chase the tie.

On: Kim Little and Smilla Holmberg

Off: Victoria Pelova and Taylor Hinds

  8. Postpublished at 20:35 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea have decided that attack is the best way to defend their slender lead, and Sandy Baltimore is leading the charge.

She almost squirms between Laura Blindkilde Brown and Vivianne Miedema with an audacious piece of skill, but she just runs out of pitch.

She's such a tricky player to get the ball off.

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:34 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

Melvine Malard has the freedom of the back post to pick her spot but the substitute skews her effort over the crossbar.

Ah that could have been game, set, match for Manchester United.

  10. Postpublished at 20:33 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

Mind you the Sweden international was one of five United players that have been booked, so could just be a case of trying to make sure they keep the personnel advantage? Another of those, Sandberg was brought off earlier too.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:33 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea's Sandy Baltimore cuts in from the left and looks to curl one in the far top corner, but Ayaka Yamashita produces a great stop.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:32 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

Are United going for that killer second goal? Looks like it, as they're bringing on the speedy Melvine Malard in place of midfielder Julia Zigiotti Olme.

  13. 'Silly from Smith'published at 20:31 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

    Gilly Flaherty
Former England defender on BBC iPlayer

    It's silly from Olivia Smith.

Is that because over the last five or 10 minutes she's been whacked a bit? Is that a bit of frustration?

She had a booking early on and you've got to be careful. As soon as I saw it was Smith I knew she was gone.

  14. Postpublished at 20:30 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

Manchester United are 22 minutes away from their first-ever League Cup final appearance.

That would be a very special way for Marc Skinner to celebrate tonight on his 150th game in charge of the club.

  15. Postpublished at 20:30 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

City have had the better chances this half, but Chelsea's attackers are finding pockets of space when they do attack.

It's as if they're sneaking up out of view of the City defenders, just off the shoulder. City need to be careful.

Former England goalkeeper on BBC iPlayer

Manchester City are in the winning habit, aren't they?. They need to find a way to get back into this one.

I've been impressed with the way they have an identity under Andree Jeglertz this season.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:26 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

Hannah Hampton produces a stunning save of her own!

Yui Hasegawa chests a clearance down at the edge of the penalty area before striking on the volley, but Chelsea goalkeeper Hampton does superbly well to tip over the bar.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:26 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

Arsenal have upped the ante now, unfazed by the player disadvantage.

They pop the ball around the edge of the United box to make space for a shot, which Mariona Caldentey duly fires towards the bottom corner, forcing Phallon Tullis-Joyce down sharply to turn it behind.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:25 GMT 21 January

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United

Marc Skinner makes his first changes of the evening, looking to keep legs fresh in the Manchester United ranks.

On: Hannah Lundkvist and Lisa Naalsund

Off: Simi Awujo and Anna Sandberg

  20. 'Rocket from James'published at 20:24 GMT 21 January

    Man City 0-1 Chelsea

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
Former England goalkeeper on BBC iPlayer

It's a wonderful turn and absolute rocket from Lauren James.

She's magic the way she can turn on the ball.

    Excellent save.
