  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 42 mins

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

My word, what an unbelievable save by Coventry goalkeeper Carl Rushworth.

Another fine move by Ipswich and Jack Taylor slams a powerful effort towards the corner from about 15 yards out but Rushworth somehow dives to his right to keep it out at full stretch.

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

Leif Davis is always a big miss for Ipswich but Jacob Greaves has done well in his stead so far.

Greaves stoops low at the far post to meet Darnell Furlong's cross but his headed effort is saved by Carl Rushworth in the Coventry goal. Another effort for Town. Make that 10 to Coventry's one.

  3. 'Coventry still struggling'published at 18:39 GMT 29 December 2025

    Mick Mills
Former Ipswich and England captain on BBC Radio Suffolk

Coventry are coming back into it a little bit but I still don't see anything special just yet.

They're not right Coventry. They've got a chance to come back into the game, but they just seem as though they're all new to each other.

  4. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

Coventry have won their past two home games 1-0. You get the feeling they'd snap your hand off for that again tonight.

Ipswich have been the better side in this first half. It's the Tractor Boys who are on the ball again, dominating possession.

The home fans are getting a bit edgy.

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

Azor Matusiwa gets a stroke of luck for Ipswich as his attempted pass out wide is intercepted but drops kindly back to him about 25 yards from goal.

But he doesn't make the most of it, swiping well over the bar.

  6. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

Coventry fans aren't too impressed with Ipswich's Darnell Furlong as he gets back to his feet and looks fine. On we go.

  7. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

Coventry have been able to put together a few more passes and get their foot on the ball more than they did in the first half an hour.

Can the Championship leaders click into gear as we've seen so often this season?

Not just yet, as now Ipswich's Darnell Furlong is down injured.

  8. 'Azon is being a nuisance up front'published at 18:32 GMT 29 December 2025

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

    Sanny Rudravajhala

This is a bright start from Ipswich.

Their supporters coach left at 1pm this afternoon but after a clear journey with their team in third, they have every reason to be in good spirits this evening.

Ivan Azon is being a nuisance up front Jack Clarke’s effort was so close too.

Coventry can start a bit slowly but we’ve also seen them turn it around at home, where they remain unbeaten.

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

Coventry defender Luke Woolfenden, facing his former side for the first time tonight, misjudges the flight of the ball on halfway and brings down Ivan Azon who had spun him.

Ipswich's momentum has just been halted slightly since the break in play for Victor Torp's knock.

Coventry have done so well this year, but will always struggle against parachute payment teams - just look at the squad Ipswich have. So proud of the team so far this season, but the way things have gone so far tonight I'd be chuffed with a draw.

  11. 'Coventry rattled'published at 18:30 GMT 29 December 2025

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

    Brenner Woolley
    BBC Radio Suffolk commentator

Ipswich have been by far the better side, they've really had Coventry rattled.

They just haven't been able to put away any chances.

Coventry get the chance to send a free-kick into the Ipswich box from the left but the ref has spotted a foul and the move comes to an end.

Not often you see these kind of stats at the CBS Arena this season.

Touches in the opposition box so far: Coventry 3-14 Ipswich.

    Shots: Coventry 1-8 Ipswich.

    Breather over, play has resumed.

  15. Postpublished at 25 mins

Everyone grab a breather and quickly dip into the tin for another chocolate... a brief break in play as Coventry's Victor Torp requires treatment for a knock.

  16. CLOSE!published at 24 mins

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

Ipswich are straight on the attack again and it drops for Jack Clarke on the edge of the box but his powerful half-volley grazes millimetres wide of the upright. The closest we've come to an opener.

Moments later, Ivan Azon cuts in from the left for Town and curls one on target but Carl Rushworth makes an easy save.

  17. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Coventry 0-0 Ipswich

Some more respite for Coventry as Ephron Mason-Clark drives forward and clips in a cross from the left but it's cleared for a throw-in.

Milan van Ewijk does the honours once again and the Sky Blues work it to Mason-Clark who has a half-chance from about eight yards out but can't generate any power on his header and it's straight at Christian Walton.

Ipswich just need a recognised striker and this game would already be over. And the Oscar for overstating the obvious goes to...

  19. Postpublished at 20 mins

Anywhere will do from Coventry right now. Eventually a breather for the Sky Blues as Jack Taylor feeds it out to the left for Ipswich but Jacob Greaves can't get there and it runs out of play for a goal-kick to the hosts.

Ipswich have started really well, Coventry have got to find a way to get on the ball.

It's as if we're playing away from home and holding onto a one-goal lead. We've got everyone back and Ipswich just keep recycling the ball.

Someone needs to get a tackle in because Ipswich have it all their own way at the moment - there's no real shape from Coventry.
