A chance for Portsmouth as Josh Murphy shoots from range but his effort from around 25 yards is just wide of the target.

  2. 'Wright has looked most likely to score'published at 20:59 GMT 9 December 2025

    Preston 0-0 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

I would be interested to see that offside call again. Wright has looked the most likely to score and I really thought that was it.

  3. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:59 GMT 9 December 2025

    Preston 0-0 Coventry

Haji Wright has the ball in the net for Coventry!

    But it's disallowed.

Half-time substitute Ephron Mason-Clark, who pulled the ball back, was judged to be offside.

    10-man Preston holding firm. Just.

  4. Postpublished at 20:57 GMT 9 December 2025

    Blackburn 0-1 Oxford

It's all Blackburn after the restart.

Lewis Miller heads wide and Yuki Ohashi heads straight into the hands of Oxford keeper Jamie Cumming soon after.

Rovers made a double change at the start of the second half with Todd Cantwell and Dion De Neve coming on for Taylor Gardner-Hickman and George Pratt.

  5. goal

GOAL: Sheffield United 1-0 Norwichpublished at 20:56 GMT 9 December 2025

    Danny Ings (50 mins)

It's third time lucky tonight for Danny Ings, who gets his first goal for Sheffield United!

The Blades have been on the front foot ever since the restart and it's great work on this occasion from Tahith Chong, who gets to the byeline before setting up Ings, who has himself a tap-in inside the six-yard box.

Ings, after missing two golden opportunities to score earlier, wasn't going to miss this one and looks slightly apologetic when wheeling away in celebration.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:56 GMT 9 December 2025

    Swansea 0-0 Portsmouth

Portsmouth are forced into making a change and it does not involve Callum Lang.

Zak Swanson comes off for Jordan Williams at full-back.

  7. CLOSE!published at 20:55 GMT 9 December 2025

    Sheffield United 0-0 Norwich

A clipped free-kick in from Harrison Burrows finds Danny Ings unmarked but his flicked header from around 12 yards goes just wide.

That's two golden opportunities for Ings to break the deadlock which have gone begging now.

Still say it quietly for now, but Boro are looking quality for an automatic promotion place under Hellberg.

    Adam

Really good first half again from Boro (arguably as good as Friday's first half). Need to keep the intensity up in the second half tonight.

  9. 'More bad news for Norwich'published at 20:53 GMT 9 December 2025

    Sheffield United 0-0 Norwich

    Chris Goreham
    BBC Radio Norfolk commentator

I didn't want to say it but it is more bad news. One of the medical staff went and spoke to Kenny McLean at half-time and he now hasn't come back out for the second half.

  10. HALF-TIME SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:52 GMT 9 December 2025

    Sheffield United 0-0 Norwich

Norwich's Kenny McLean doesn't make it out for the second half and on in his place is Emiliano Marcondes.

  11. Postpublished at 20:51 GMT 9 December 2025

    Swansea 0-0 Portsmouth

Callum Lang is still out there for Portsmouth.

The forward went down just before the break and hobbled off but appears OK to continue for now.

Oh Norwich. All four left-backs out injured for most of the season so far, now the curse is on the strikers with Sargent off injured and his replacement Kvistgaarden not fit enough to make the trip.

  13. SECOND HALFpublished at 20:50 GMT 9 December 2025

We're getting under way in our 19:45 GMT kick-offs.

What will the second half bring?

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:47 GMT 9 December 2025

    QPR 1-0 Birmingham

There is the half-time whistle and Jimmy Dunne's header just before the break separates the two sides.

It took a little while to spark into life but after Paul Smyth could only direct a header straight at Birmingham keeper James Beadle, Dunne made no mistake with his attempt five minutes before the break.

As we stand, in-form Rangers are set to slip into the play-off places!

Can Blues respond in the second half?

Get those sprinklers on at Ewood!

    Casper

When Venky's bought Blackburn in November 2010, Rovers were a top-10 Premier League club. Oxford were a League Two club at the time. Tonight says it all about the state of Blackburn Rovers under this ownership.

    Coley

Frustrating times at Ewood Park. Can't score, can't defend, can't even blame the pitch this time! Something's got to change!

  18. 'Norwich have been the better team'published at 20:41 GMT 9 December 2025

    Sheffield United 0-0 Norwich

    Ryan Bennett
Former Norwich defender on BBC Radio Norfolk

Norwich have played well, they have been on top in parts. I believe they have been the better team. Half-time has probably come at a good time for them.

  19. Two sides low on confidencepublished at 20:41 GMT 9 December 2025

    Swansea 0-0 Portsmouth

    Andrew Moon
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

A fairly uneventful half between two sides clearly low on confidence, Chaplin coming closest for Pompey.

Matthews and Bowat have been solid so far at the back. It was a concern to see Callum Lang go down at the end of the half but he was able to walk off.

    Jimmy Dunne (40 mins)

Rangers lead just before the break!

It's an incredibly inviting cross from Koki Saito on the right and it is just begging to be attacked.

Jimmy Dunne, who is no stranger to a goal, climbs highest and buries his header past James Beadle to give the Hoops a lead they have threatened for the past five minutes or so.
